Sometimes I never make it to work becuase I keep coming back to get something else.......Its like having a harem hot bitches, which one do I foook next! heheheheheh"
  3. got some factory keyless remotes off ebay for the sister-in-law. no instructions. need to know how to program. i know i have the right remotes serial numbers match the one she has. the one she has has no buttons you have to push the contact in the remote, pita. searching the internet yielded no useful info. she drives around all day for work so i dont really have access to her jeep except when shes sleeping and then everything is closed. -john
  4. all good ideas hilarious. im not pissed about gifts given at the WE but i hate buying gifts for WE. i wish i worked for a company where these types of "gifts" would be appreicated. and perhaps i shouldnt have labled it White Elephant, wikapedia defines it waay different than when work explained it. any other hilarious ones?
  5. most of you have attended or are about to attend a White Elephant. i have one coming up this weekend for work and would like to get some ideas. limit is $25. last year the woman and i put in a dart board and a pop corn maker. we recieved a big fuzzy blanket and a coffee mug with a few diffent flavors of coffee. i really hate these things, people always get useless things. i didnt want to get the popcorn maker, i prefer the microwave. but whatever. so what you got?!
  6. no it will be kept in the garage. i've been trying to get my roommates to let me bring it in the house. the house is a fixer upper and we started on the 3rd floor and are still working to the 2nd, so the 1st floor is still in need of some work so it cant hurt anything. well i know what i'll be doing today... thanks again! BTW does anyone know the coolant capacity of a 98 gsxr600?
  7. i tested mine last night and it good to +20F. obviously thats not enough considering how cold it can get in ohio. i am headed to DC in a few weeks for a co-op so i want to get it ready for its hibernation in ohio. its probably the original coolant from 98, i bought it this year at the end of the season and was going to change it come spring, but i feel i should do it now. so, can i use automotive coolant or is there "motorcycle" coolant? thanks,
  8. so what exactly is the cush drive? on a schematic i have there is an odd shapped almost triangular piece that is called an absorber. and appears to go behind the rear sprocket drum. is that what youre talking about? john
  9. http://www.mobiloil.com/USA-English/MotorOil/Oils/Mobil1_Racing_4T_10W-40.aspx Mobil 1 Racing 4T 10W-40 is recommended for four-cycle motorcycles which specify the use of a 10W-40 engine oil. It provides excellent performance in motorcycle engines that are designed with a common engine/transmission lubrication system or where the engine lubrication system is separate from the transmission system. In the case of the latter, follow the manufacturer's recommendation for the type of fluid to be used in the transmission. Mobil 1 Racing 4T 10W-40 engine oil is also designed to provide the proper frictional characteristics necessary for wet-clutch engine/transmission systems. Mobil 1 Racing 4T 10W-40 exceeds the requirements of API Service Categories SH, SG/CF, CD, JASO MA and has been fully tested, both on laboratory dynamometers and in the field, to provide optimum horsepower and acceleration. Fully synthetic Mobil 1 motorcycle oils are specifically engineered for use in motorcycles. The formulations are based on the proven technology used in other Mobil 1 automotive products, yet they are optimized for the unique requirements of a motorcycle engine and/or transmission. You can use them with confidence, knowing they will protect your bike in extreme situations where conventional motor oils simply cannot compare, including extended high-speed operation and prolonged idling in summertime traffic. so according to mobil, motorcycle syn is perfect for sport bikes, yes? they also have a 20-50 syn for Vtwins. thanks for the infos
  10. idle barely 1k rmps. prev owner only used mobil full syn. would a traditional motorcycle oil be "better" than the syn? its smooth as silk in going through the other gears
  11. ive only owned 2 bikes now and they both werent new. whenever i go from neutral to first, no matter how long ive had the clutch held or how i push the shifter, it clunks. both of my bikes did this, theyre both suzukis, 89 and 98, 500cc and 600cc, 16k and 12k. I just dont like the way it sounds, i can feel it through the bike. is it time from something to be replaced? if so what? am i being too picky? I plan on redoing the carbs, fluid flushes, adjusting shit this winter, so id like to know what i could possibly be getting into. I just moved in with my fiance and her sister and finally have a garage! i havent bought a service manual yet, i will be soon there is a local shop a block from my house. thanks john
  12. i just picked up my second bike last weekend. 98gsxr600 great upgrade from my first bike 89gs500. i am toein to the limit on the gsxr. the 500 i could touch better but not being able to really touch is the reason i dropped the 500. so i dont want to drop my new bike and almost did yesturday. im 5'6" 155lbs. i searched the board and got a lot of mixed feelings. i really dont want to sacrafice handling, love the lean, but i dont wanna drop it. if i lower it i would get some "dog bones" off ebay, which lowers the rear suspension only, right? and how do you lower the front? losen the forks and slide the bike down? do i need to lower the front and rear at the same time/amount? if i lower just the rear will it make it more comfortable/give it a less agressive stance? oh and i would only want to lower it 1-1.5 inches. opinions, ideas, comments, i already tried streching my legs out and that didnt work.
  13. well im in college so im broke. i have about 1300 cash, and am trying to get someone to let me use paypal to pay anything beyond that...no luck as of yet. i really dont want to spend more than $3k. ive only ridden 4 bikes bcomfortable bike efore only one more than 5-10miles total, i drove my gs around for about 400 in a couple months. i found it to be extremely uncomfortable, all the other bikes, even though i never rode them very far, they were comfortable. so i want a more compaired to my gs. two of the other bikes were cbr600 and a gsxr600, both were a blast to ride. the other was a triumph daytona900, super comfortable great smooth bike, not as much umph but a good ride. i like the acceleration of the sport bike. are there bikes that are a sport bike but more comfortable? a friend of a friend has a 98 gsxr with 12k miles wants $3750 great looking, handles great, is it worth that? thanks
  14. ive been looking around for my next bike, sold my first bike couple weeks ago http://www.columbusracing.com/forums/showthread.php?t=42046, and all the bikes in my price range have anywhere from 15k-35k miles on them. my bike had 16k and ran great. so what exactly is considered high mileage?
  15. third reich: equal parts goldschlager, jager and rumplemintz. kinda burns/tastes like colgate!
  16. just informed that the zx has been sold. so obviously one will fit. thanks
  17. will two bikes fit in a truck? i will be going to look at/purchase two bikes tomorrow. 97 suzuki rf 900r 00 kawisaki zx 600 the truck is a 94 f-150 short bed. will they both fit in the bed? will the tail gate have to be down? i have a 11ft 2x12 ramp. or should i rent a trailer? or does someone have one i could borrow? thanks john
  18. SOLD 9/24 89 gs500 clear title im the second owner curently ~16,800 miles, i ride it everyday new battery new front tire, rear has a lot of life left new chain not on yet upgraded front springs, out of an 04 stiffer than the 89, i still have 89 springs and spacers, you could use the 89 spacers cut them down an inch or so and have even stiffer front end, these bikes commonly have too much front dive new fork seals obviously, one fork should be replaced the seat for the seal has some corrosion, ive replaced that seal twice, the first time it lasted about 2 months, the second time was about 2 weeks ago and it just started leaking againg yesturday rebuild carbs @ 16,500 factory repair manual all lights work except for the headlight only works on high, bulb, i want people to see me so i would leave the highbeams on anyway choke lever is stuck off, but doesnt need it to start 2 keys always garage kept minor rust on frame i patched the gas tank, had small pin hole leak at a bottom corner the original owner laid it down the day he drove it home in 89 doing 15mph his pride was scratched more than the bike. ive dropped it 3 times...always standing still, twice i was in a swale, im short. once on gravel, lost footing. the gravel drop scuffed up the strator cover plate. Great first bike. suzuki has made these for a very long time with hardly any changes so parts are everywhere and usually interchangeable throughout the years. buy this, ride it, drop it, learn and dont worry about it! im looking to upgrade, prefer cash but will listen to bike trades 600cc+ late 90s and up. the bike is in akron where im going to school. thanks, http://img516.imageshack.us/img516/1338/img0152vu7.th.jpghttp://img504.imageshack.us/img504/907/img0153an1.th.jpghttp://img504.imageshack.us/img504/2122/img0154kx2.th.jpghttp://img337.imageshack.us/img337/7766/img0157xg6.th.jpg http://img337.imageshack.us/img337/5049/img0159nx6.th.jpghttp://img504.imageshack.us/img504/8245/img0155zn0.th.jpghttp://img337.imageshack.us/img337/3859/img0160uj0.th.jpg tank patch, sweet huh? gravel drop_________orginal owner laydown
  19. do you have a repair manual for that cbr? and whats mine really worth?
  20. ive been riding around on an 89 gs500 and im ready to move up its been a great bike, ive fixed a few things on it, and learned to ride. i rode a friends 98 gsxr600 the other day and i was blown away the thing i liked the most was the fact that is was sooo much more comfortable and obviously the power increase. so heres the thing i just started back at college, so im broke again. i have some cash but not nearly enough to purchase a bike like that, so ideally what would work best for me if i was able to trade plus cash. there is a 2000 zx6 for sale on CR that would really be perfect for me. its newer, lower miles, and its lowered, im toe'n it on my gs, basically what im looking for. my bike: 89 gs500 curently 16800 miles, i take little trips everyday new battery new front tire new chain not on yet upgraded front springs, out of an 04 stiffer than the 89 new fork seals obviously rebuild carbs @ 16500 choke lever is stuck off, but doesnt need it to start 2 keys always garage kept minor rust on frame i patched the gas tank, had small pin hole leak at a bottom corner clear coat just starting to come off on tank the original owner laid it down the day he drove it home in 89 doing 15mph only his pride was scratched. ive dropped it 3 times...always standing still, twice i was in a swale, once on gravel. the gravel drop scuffed up the strator cover plate. i'll get some pics up tomorrow whats can i expect to get for it? looking for a bike like my friends 98 gsxr600 i chose this bike for my first bike i made a good choice. handles nice, light weight, plenty of power for a first bike. let me know if anyone has anything or knows anyone that wants a bike like this. thanks john
