GM used to own the proving grounds not 5mins from my house, not sure where they moved to but I'd bet this happened in Salt Creek Canyon just east of Globe. US60 doubles back on itself a buch of times as it windes thru the canyon and I've seen a few manufacturer plated cars roaming through there, hell of a road. Sux to see one torn up already but I'll bet this happens all the time.

You probably said the same thing about the NSX right?? Crying about a handling car not going fast in a straight line is just stupid. If you want a car thats fast in a straight line get one that's built for it.

My roommate has a 99 Mystique V6 that has the MIL light on, codes P0420 and P0174. The car has 81k miles. The shop he saw simply want to replace the cats on the car at a cost of $1000. Apparantly the cats are built into the manifolds on this car?? From what I read though the P0420 may be caused by the system running too lean somewhere overloading the cats and causing the rotten egg smell hes getting. Couple suggestions I picked up are to try and run a strong fuel system cleaner thru it and if the cats are dirty to try possibly laquer thinner in the fuel system to clean that out?? I'm no mechanic but am trying to help him as he knows nothing about cars and don't want to see him get ripped off. Suggestions where to start looking and some cheap remedies before he goes to a shop again to drop $1k on a car worth only $2k??? TIA, Ben

Made it home just in time to catch the last day of the auction. It's incredible, as much a car show/auto extravaganza as it is an auction. "Sound management"?? Because the LS has always been a shitty sounding engine? or it has 8 mufflers and resonators so it doesn't exceed retirement community sound limits of 18db?

Always loved these cars, one of the sexiest around and especially when they have a proper engine like yours.
