Agony until the end, that thing rolls the fuck out!!!
-
Drive-up registration??:dumb: Have fun out there, my timing sucks on the move as the season here winds down with the heat.
-
I has camber now as well dammit. Speak for yourself..... Not for long, if repairs fail Dohc aluminator incoming.:fuckyeah:
-
Long overdue, been illegal for me for a while(CDL) and I have to be hands free as well. Enforcement will be a bitch but hopefully they will set an example early on and fucking hammer people with tickets.
-
:lolguy: Ouch, you guys are all lucky I won't be there..........:gabe:

I figure a helicoil might still work or this Time sert thing, I've debated talking to the owner of the shop who installed the plugs last fall but I think it will be far more hassle than it's worth. There are a number of shops down here that should be able to do this easily, one guy on another board said he works at a Ford dealer and does these time serts here and there, they usually charge around $300 in total to do it, will have to weight my options but the most important thing is I want it done right!
-
Might be rocky point, have some friends in Tucson that were just there and would have to ask them. I sure as hell won't be taking the Mustang down there, I'll never see it again lol.
-
Yeah, it's already screwed me up. It is a fairly logical system but not the easiest to understand. Adam, I'll have to look it up but were only 2 hours from a nice resort beach in Mexico, it's where all the AZ residents go to the beach. It's only 6hrs drive or 1.5hr flight to Cali which has around what, 800 miles of coast?? JJ, yeah I'm not good with those cars, pretty neat to see them though. Clay, yeah everything seems brand new in Mesa, Gilbert, Scottsdale and even Glendale now near the stadium. I found a room for rent in Gilbert, I doubt anything where I'm at is more than 5 years old.
-
Actually Adam, I'm told the scene at the river park in Huntington, WV is the best!!:megusta: Hit me up when you do, already starting to make friends out here. It's transplant city, almost nobody that lives here grew up here, all moved in from other states. The scene is unreal and it's going into the hot season so it slows way down, everyone keeps telling me wait till october!!

As some of you know I've moved to Phoenix. Just got down here this weekend and it wasn't hard to find some of the car scene which is unreal. The main weekly event is the show at the Scottsdale Pavilions which is every week year round for about 20 years now. I'm told I made it on a "slow night" as it was the first warm saturday(101 degrees) but in the fall when it's a bit cooler 500-600 cars will show up. Just a few snaps I took quickly..... http://www.columbusracing.com/forums/picture.php?albumid=748&pictureid=6132 The so called "small crowd" http://www.columbusracing.com/forums/picture.php?albumid=748&pictureid=6134 For Clay http://www.columbusracing.com/forums/picture.php?albumid=748&pictureid=6138 Even some military equipment http://www.columbusracing.com/forums/picture.php?albumid=748&pictureid=6140 Old International Scouts, 3 more showed up later http://www.columbusracing.com/forums/picture.php?albumid=748&pictureid=6142 Gremlins!! http://www.columbusracing.com/forums/picture.php?albumid=748&pictureid=6144 Everything you could think of was here, BMW's, Benz, I missed a wildly painted Murcialago, a ghettoed out Bentley I didn't dare take a pic of, lots of Vettes, Mustangs and every import in between. I think I can get used to this down here!! Only about a dozen pics for now in my albums. http://www.columbusracing.com/forums/album.php?albumid=748

The Shelby club down here had a tribute to him by having all the members and fans of Carroll revs there engines at the Pavilions show for about an entire minute, it was pretty cool if you ask me.

That's HAWT!!!

Apparantly it's stripped out too big to do anything with, the shop can't even do anything with it to help and I'm sure they would if they could at least to make some money. I don't think I want to fuck with this motor at all, will probably pull it before long and sell it to do an aluminator. $700 is fine, doubt you could get here by tonight though, it's a long drive from your neck of the woods.
-
Yeah, and because it's cyl 8 he can't get in there to do a proper helicoil so it looks like were going to have to do the patch version as I don't have the money to take the heads off and do it right. Anyone interested in a low mileage 4.6 sohc needing minor head work??
-
Well, the threads in the head are stripped. Couldn't be anything except the guy who installed them last fall, so I'm not very happy right now. Now I'm worried about the rest of the plugs, problem is if they are stripped as well I don't want to pull them too just to check and not be able to get them back in as well. Just going to fix the problem were aware of and go from there, don't fix it if it ain't broke.
-
^Yes, I just hope the slight bend in them was caused from being beat around in the valve cover well, we'll find out shortly but from what the tech could tell the threads on the head look intact.
-
Yeah, I was thinking we might have to go that route in a worst case scenario. No signs of coolant at all so that doesn't appear to be a factor. We'll know for sure as soon as the new parts arrive and we try to get the new plug in, it looks like it's ok though.
-
Well I've had my car for just over 3 years now, 28k miles I've put on it, 3 track weekends, a number of autocrosses, and generally driving the piss out of the car and it finally gave me it's first problem. After driving 2000 miles to Phoenix it breaks down just as I get into town. The coil and plug popped out of cyl 8 somehow. The plug is still attached to the coil so no internal engine damage happened from the plug dropping down in the cyl that we can tell, the thread on the plug is intact save for the first 2 threads which are slightly bent, it looks as though the plug just wasn't tightened enough and worked it's way back out somehow from when there were changed last fall. The coil is done from hitting the fuel rail but luckily it wasn't damaged either. All in all I've been lucky with this car, and luckier with when it decided to give me trouble(especially considering I was just climbing mountains with the a/c on). Say what you want about Fords or Mustangs, I am happy with mine!:fuckyeah:

I will be back in town monday evening, need em gone asap. $600
-
Someone jelly!!:gabe:
-
If they do a diesel and the interior is what it's supposed to be, I will seriously consider this car for a daily, gorgeous car inside and out!!
-
I believe the total turnout was close to 150 drivers, 5 runs despite the 20min delay for the mr2, poor guy I wanted to see that thing run!!
-
Alright folks, divulge your times and let the Angus peppering begin!! My best was a 45.1, the new panhar bar really threw me off at 1st but I think I'm figuring it out, did find out my tire pressures were probably way off but oh well. They hadn't posted the times when I left but they should be online in a day or so. I'm quite curious how I fared against the Veteran in Gods chariot?? The back half of the course was all miata/civic turns.
-
Peppering the Beetles Angus thoroughly at autocross!!! 45.1 was my best, just shy of where I hoped to get but not a bad time for a stock suspension mustang!! Spill it Jones, what was your best time?
