  1. A guy like Danny can make anyone feel pretty slow. Though it helps little I try to watch drivers like him and see what they do and learn from it. Coty, if you don't hit some cones once in a while your probably not getting close enough to them!! I'll be there co-driving the gold E30 so I'll keep an eye out for you. Anthony(Antwon) said he may make it out too so it will be good to see some more CR members out there.
  2. Was bound to happen eventually, we knew they would at least go to all aluminum. I think the engine layout is much better, makes more sense and the engine sits something like 4in lower in the bay. Now people are just going to have to sleeve the blocks and such to to get big boost likely.
  3. Told ya!! Fuck, I have to work next saturday...... :bs:
  4. Looks like pretty quality work from those pics, intercooler looks stock and that's a good thing!! I want one of those cars!!
  5. ^Lemme know if you go saturday so we can carpool if you want.
  6. If that chip has increased your boost then you will be in DSP I believe. We can find out for sure at the event when you go to tech, so it doesn't really matter what class you register for right now.
  7. I'm sure IPS can get them, Advance Auto Parts can get them, then obviously the intraweb.
  8. Though truck sales are declining they are getting better mileage than they used to, my dads 08' Sierra with the 4.8 and I got 23mpgs cruising at 80mph, not great, but not bad for a V8 truck especially at that speed.
  9. ^Heh, I've had to get used to it though other than the abs on the Evo I prefer a car without it.
  10. Yeah, all those miatas do that. The Si I drove had abs that intervened too much, we believe it was sensing that the rear wheels were locking(because they were off the ground in the corners) and kicking in the abs too soon, it didn't make the car hard to drive but affected how well the car could brake. Still it was a very fun little car to drive, having that short a wheelbase is great!!
  11. We looked at a really nice Toshiba that I liked and H.H.Gregg had by far the best price on it even vs. what I could find on the web, but their extended warranties were very expensive and looked to be 3rd party.
  12. I'd love to give drifting a try, it looks fun as hell. But I'm not paying $25 just to watch, I'd want to drive.
  13. I'm aware of the fact that you can hardly buy a new tv for $99(even a tube), and they only make a couple tubes anymore, it's just my dad is the cheapest person I've ever seen. The last time he bought a tv it was probably $99 and that's all he's going to be willing to spend again....hence he will never own another new tv unless it's bought for him. Tim, thanks for the offer but it won't happen with him. I'll have to buy it for him because he won't be willing to pay for one and if he is forced to buy one he'll buy the cheapest junk he can find.
  14. ^Heh, just because someone has money doesn't mean they have talent. Joe, no such thing!!! Though I am pooped. A lot more fun today though I couldn't improve my position in the class.
  15. Nevermind.....as soon as he saw what the prices for these tv's are he's not interested, and he won't be until you can buy at least a 27" for about $99.
  16. The warranties are for the most part a revenue generator, but if/when that time comes you need it they can pay off I know. The roommate has a DLP and the bulb blew out on it in a year, so far it's been worth it but LCD's seem to be reliable so far.
  17. My dad wants to get a new LCD tv. For those of you that have them, any reliability problems?? We've looked at a few and are wondering if the extended warranty is worth it on these. Thanx.
  18. Man what fun today, not where I had hoped to be in STS but I'll have a full compliment of excuses tomorrow!!
  19. Well, I just watched my Laser drive away!! As much as I wanted it to go I hated watching it leave. It was my 3rd dsm and I have always loved the cars and this one was a lot of fun, I'm sure most of us on here have had this type of attachment to a car at some point. Nice thing is the Laser should be back for the June 15th event as the new owner wants to try his hand at autocross!! Back on topic: I look forward to this weekend and seeing if I can keep up with the big dogs of STS.
  20. The civic should be fun, I saw what they are capable of in the right hands so I know they can be fast with the right nut behind the wheel, either way it will be fun. I have a couple cars in mind, one I'm pretty dead set on as I've always wanted one but I won't speak until it's a done deal as I get ahead of myself sometimes.
  21. Weather report looks nasty friday night but it shows it clearing out by about 7am saturday morning and we should be in the clear all weekend!!! :burn: I'm excited about being in STS this event as there are some fast cars and drivers and it's a very competitive class and will be a good test for myself. BTW, the Laser has been sold, guy comes to pick it up tomorrow night!!
  22. I can't speak from personal experience with these, not all of them can always be bad or nobody would buy them, it's just that I've had friends that I've seen personally have problems with these clutches before, in either fitment, or a quality issue.
  23. I don't like the front wheel arches at all but otherwise a nice looking car.
