  2. Understood. I think we all understand where we stand. My wife bought a 2006 Cobalt SS/NA new back in 06. It had a great stereo (optional pioneer unit with sub in trunk) and had 0 problems in the 25k miles she put on it. Her 2008 Rabbit has 20k, and 0 issues as well. Cobalt had better stereo, and you could argue the engine had more pep (mainly weight related). The Rabbit has a better ride and better interior. Hope the Cobalt does well for you guys, they are solid cars.
  3. http://i146.photobucket.com/albums/r247/A4SHO/1233400426_guyfallsofchair.gif This is me after rereading this thread and realizing how stupid most people are.
  4. 17k taken to 2010 using 3% inflation is $21,500. Add how much better the car is, and it seems very reasonable.
  5. Emo? really? wow So replying to a statement made by the OP is off topic? PS, the Mustang V6 makes 305ish, not 315, and the coyote 5.0 will have at least 415, not 400.
  6. The design is so simple, it makes it more impressive.
  7. Go fuck yourself paul. Read the thread again, and until post 23 or so, nothing I said was any different than the dozens of threads posted daily where, you, gearhead etc post bull shit just to stir shit up. You guys post up more bull shit than anyone else here, yet because I like to poke fun of and defend foreign cars when they get bombarded with hillbilly bull shit posts its my fault? Get the fuck out of here, you all bitch and moan about threads when people post up different opinions than yours, yet most of those bitching are the biggest offenders when the tables are turned. Grow up douche bag.
  8. If you think that anyone of the "eurotrash yuppies" on the forum are phased by your opinion or comments, you are giving yourself way too much credit. A discussion or argument has 2 sides or more. My last 4 cars have been German, and my purchasing routine will not be altered because I have encountered someone online with a differing view. You need to grow up and view a discussion or argument as what it is. Nobody is trying to alter anyones opinion. It just doesn't happen. However there were some statements that were just plain False, which should and were pointed out.
  9. thats what I heard as well. Society needs to chill the fuck out.
  10. Exactly, well put. No I think gearhead says more 100% wrong stuff on CR than anyone else. Comical that after people point out how 100% wrong he was, he never addresses it, and sometimes doesn't even post back up in the same thread. :gtfo::bangbang:
  11. What the fuck are you talking about? Do you even know the 2 cars I mentioned? Both are 35-50k midsize luxury SUV's. They are indeed in the same class.
  12. lol, so a person that pays 50k for a new Cadillac SRX is not as big of a yuppie or wannabe as someone who buys a 50k Audi Q5? What about the GTI vs Cobalt SS?
  13. I think a lot of you guys lump all "foreign" car companies and enthusiasts together, and generalize everything. I agree with you guys when it comes to Honda and Toyota. I think they are over-rated, and not any better than the domestic counterparts. I think people are more likely to repair and deal with problems with those cars because of the reputations they have received. When similar problems happen to domestics, they are not willing to and label them crap. As for the German car stigma, its funny. We have had them for about 10 years, 200k miles and $0 in NON warranty repairs. However when they do need repairs, I will be buying the parts online and through various locations that do not charge dealer prices, and will be doing the repairs myself if I can. Just like all of you guys would.
  14. Great information, and exactly what I was referring to in my posts. The line is muddy know days, making much of these arguments moot. I 100% agree. I am more likely to buy a Ford product because of those facts than either a GM or Chrysler vehicle. 5 more awesome units for you sir. yup
  15. If GM was bought by a foreign company, would you still feel "loyal"?
  16. If a domestic car company produced a car that I wanted to buy, I would buy it. I don't have a "loyal" brand. I buy the best car for me at that time. If it happens to be German, I guy German. If it was to be domestic, I would buy domestic. Being close minded and "patriotic" and loyal is potentially making you NOT maximize your utility, which leads to inefficiency, which is not ideal for the economy.
  17. That is one of the most uneducated statments I have ever heard. Why is it nutswinging to buy the car that BEST suits MY style, wants, and lifestyle? Nothing offered by a domestic car company could do everything that my GTI can do. Also, by buying Japanese and German cars, companies start to bring production here. Toyota and Honda have slowly been providing more and more US jobs, while GM and chrysler are making the US tax payers suffer because of horrible business decision. Also, VW is building a large plant here in the next 3 years as well.
  18. Well, a large % at least. Very few renovations get 100% ROI.
  19. [cordell] should I seek help? right away No, you are passionate. However your obsession for Chevy's is a bit interesting. It is definetly keeping you from experiencing some amazing cars. However there is no time like the present to be a loyal GM customer. They are coming out with some amazing cars that are beginning to rival the Jap and German cars. I am obsessed with cars. However it is a bit different being a German car guy because a large majority of guys on here are Domestic douche bags that don't respect anything but american cars. They call themselves car guys, and I laugh.
  20. First of all, he was the one that brought up hp/liter in the FIRST POST. I didn't bring it up, I simply commented on his statement. Secondly, Why am I or others like me fanboys because we don't want to drive mustangs and camaros or other domestic cars? I like and respect most cars, including mustangs and camaros. Go take a bath and clean your vagina out.
  21. Agreed, when you compare the modern engines to the ones of decades past, of course they are able to get more hp/liter than before. However none of the "muscle" cars, or even most (not all) domestic cars in general are exactly exercises in efficiency. The Cobalt SS/TC's 2.0T is significantly more efficient than any of the engines produced from GM that I can remember. Cobalt SS: 130hp/liter Z06: 72hp/liter ZR1: 103hp/liter
  22. hahahahahahahahahahahahaha That's a good one. You're funny.
