  1. There does seem to be some hope though. Audi and BMW are looking to move to Turbo I4's in there next S/M models as well as extreme weight cutting. I can only hope this formula re-emerges. Can you imagine the performance of a 300-350hp turbo 4 hauling 2500-3000lbs? Excellent (C Montgomery Burns)
  2. You mean what the SHO should have been from the get go? That would make too much sense to come from a Domestic car company. 3.5 Ecoboost, along with 6 speed standard and an optional DSG style box with AWD...Around 3800lbs (lets be realistic here)....For 32k base up to 38k loaded. Perfect car.
  3. Well I guess we will have to agree to disagree. Nobody is comparing an EVO/STI to a SHO. They just aren't. A 4300lb, tq converted auto car the size of an SUV. While I agree that people do buy "bigger is better" but I don't agree that those cars will be cross shopped because they have AWD and are performance oriented. Don't think too many people will cross shop the new 7 series with X drive with an STI/EVO even though they are sporty (if you call the SHO sporty, the 7 series certainly has to be too) and AWD. Like what? Legacy doesn't work....I can't even fit in them, let alone be worried about the rear passengers. Its competition is not the M/S-RS/AMG/V style cars from upper level car companies. It is the Acura TL, Infinity G and M and domestics like the G8 GT and 300C, even the Genesis. I personally don't see it pulling sales away from BMW/Audi/Mercedes/Lexus regardless of the model. Already saw that. And the Accord V6 comparo against the regular Taurus. Accord won that too. Agreed. However the new Taurus is a step in the right direction. It is fairly high content (although pricy). If they could get the price down, it would have been a much better car, even if nothing else changed.
  4. You'll turn straight, Paul will type correctly and I will be skinny.............
  5. I have no doubt tuners will be running with the ecoboost. However people have heard from Ford drivetrain engineers that the power is already limited for transmission longevity........which means the trans isn't strong enough for the car..........which means bad news for the easy tq increases of a F/I car. Exactly like the old ones. The auto trans were junk.
  6. In what world does a BIG automatic sedan compete with an EVO or STI? The new Taurus is Huge, bigger than the Legacy (which I found too small). We are talking A6, 300C big. It essentially is a big entry level domestic luxury car that got a hot engine to compete with the new 300, G8, Genesis etc. None of the cars you listed are true competition for the Taurus except maybe the G37. I can agree to that.
  7. The car weighs in at 4350........base price of 38k.......I will take the GXP G8 please.
  8. does that clarify things for you? I was agreeing with what was said.
  9. video actually sucked........too much flashing to different angles...........and those were regular CTS's. Only V was the last one.
  10. haha gets pretty funny at 1:30 for about 1 minute.
  11. Car looks great man. Quick question about the Evo 9's; are the oval holes for cooling ducts? fog lights? I thought they were for fog lights, but don't remember ever seeing any before.
  12. I would do a VR6 -T Swap as well. The sky is the limit on power for them when built right, and it has been done many times. Check out ohiovw.com and vwvortex.com to get some more VW specific swap info. There are only a handful of VW guys here, and we all either have a MKIV GLI or MKV GTI. Welcome
  13. And your 2v is not designed to be fast:asshole:
  14. That makes more sense. The initial brochure I looked at was a 2000, which indicated around 3350. Then when I looked them up again, the 2002 read off right at 3600.
  15. I have been looking at the 68 suburbans. Very cool as well.
  16. Yeah, they are. I found a scanned Audi brochure and it said 3350. Looks like they are around 3650. Thanks for the info.
  17. mmmmmmmmmm starting to like the coupe quattros much more now...3200lbs, AWD, sounds great!!!
  18. Thats what I was thinking. And after finding out the curb weight of the Urs4, I have ruled it out lol. Almost 3900lbs, as much as a B7 S4. I do like the 944 turbo as well.
  19. I think I just eliminated the Urs4. 3850lbs!!!!! No thanks. The B5 S4 is 3650, the 944 turbo is 3150 and the SHO is 3250-3450. My GTI is 3150.
  20. That S4 is up on autotrader. It says: Handyman Special! THIS 2001 S4 WAS A RECENT TRADE. CURRENTLY THE VEHICLE IS RUNNING BUT NOT DRIVEABLE. IT DOES NOT HAVE COMPRESSION IN AT LEAST ONE CYLINDER THEREFORE WE ARE SELLING AS-IS FOR PARTS/REPAIR ONLY. But it does look like a good deal. Get it for 4k, then rebuild an engine for it. I do like those coupe quattros. All high mileage versions that I have found for WELL under 5k.
  21. I highly doubt you can get an E30 M3 for that price. 14500 for an 89 with 140k miles. lol They are pricier than the comparable mileage E36 and the mint ones are going for over 35k.
  22. I really think I will get the Taurus SHO.....still my first and strongest automotive love. This one to be exact: http://carphotos.cardomain.com/ride_images/1/904/3241/2259120328_large.jpg http://hosting.superhighoutput.com/yamahasho/Avatars%20and%20Signatures/sho%201080%20desktop%20sm%20copy.jpg
  23. Is it weird that I can't think of more than 3 cars that I would spend my own 5k on? I like mustangs, camaros, old toyotas like te72 had/has, old nissans, chevelles, old suburbans etc. However I would only spend my 5k on a 89-95 SHO 5 speed, a MK3 Jetta VR6 5 speed and a 1992-1997 S4/S6.
  24. So do you actually post opinions anymore? Posts that help people, respond to the topic? It seems that you have been only posting up one liners for the past 6 months to a year lol. I feel like even some of Paul's posts have more substance than yours.:bangbang:
