  3. But I have driven an Evo 9. Its not like you have never given an opinion on a car you haven't driven.

I know, I was trying to let that one go lol. Well they already have a $1,000 incentive for all 2010 Tauri including the SHO and they haven't even hit dealer lots.

I have been looking at picking up a Gen 2 SHO MTX for a project lately and found a 1992 Green with Black interior (rare) in MINT condition. It was at a dealer and they want like 6500. They could easily get 4 maybe 5 out of it. I think I am just going to stick with my GTI though. 5k in the GTI is way too appealing.
  6. How can you lose weight eating pizza? Please tell.
  7. I know, people that don't own an Evo or STI have no idea what they are talking about.:gtfo::asshole:
  8. Exactly.............thank you.
  9. C&D on the new STI: Where it falls down is in the steering department, which is too light and far too vague. Most annoyingly, the only feel conveyed through the steering wheel is in the form of kickback from road bumps The aforementioned steering is the main culprit—it makes it difficult to figure out what’s going on at the wheels Those still brave enough to push the STI will quickly discover understeer through almost any type of corner, and the many settings of the center differential don’t seem to offer a cure C&D on the EVO X: For starters, it clings to the road. We recorded 0.97 g on a slippery skidpad, fighting oversteer all the while. That’s right, oversteer Since the skidpad only measures maximum lateral grip, it’s not a consistent indication of good handling, but in this case it’s perfectly in line with the over-the-road experience. The quick steering—2.3 turns lock-to-lock—offers more feel than that of the other cars. The stiff brake pedal is more communicative, too, and the brakes don’t ever seem to fade. It’s predictable, it’s capable, and it’s more communicative than the competition. That lets you drive it harder and faster, so if you want to get somewhere in a hurry, the Lancer Evolution GSR is the best choice C&D on 2005 STI: If you want to pin the tail on the donkey, in a word the culprit is understeer. But in the business of getting the car to hurry through corners, its behavior was consistently reluctant. This was apparent on various Michigan back roads, and even more apparent at GingerMan, where it's impossible to hide from a stopwatch. At corner exits, the Subaru's torque asserted itself, hustling the car toward the next corner with a will. But the Evo's superior athleticism added up to an advantage C&D on the 2005 Evo 9 MR: Where the STi resists turn-in, the MR hunkers down and drags its front end onto the desired line a little rotation around the vertical axis to reduce the time spent in cornering. This enhances lap times and is far more enjoyable than waiting for understeer to end. the Mitsu was the quicker of the two cars in the emergency-lane-change test. This is supported by pretty much every other magazine out there. STI better daily driver, has better corner exit power (ie less turbo lag) and has a much better interior, but the EVO is faster in a straight line and around a track and is more fun to drive.
  10. Yet every major magazine, car tester and journalist seems to think the EVO handles better, and is THE choice for the turns. It may do better at the drag strip as well, but they also are the best in the corners.
  11. Don't know where you're getting that info.......... Evo is the best for the track (as in road course, not drag). STI is the best for daily driving. That is what it usually comes down to with these two. Now that is not to say that the Evo can't be driven daily, and the STI doesn't handle well, it simply states what each car is better at than the other. I would get an Evo 8,9 or 10 over the STI.

Audi really started to turn things around with the later model cars 2000+. Once the B6 A4 came along (2002) there really isn't any room to talk about them being less reliable than the comparable BMW or Mercedes. But as you stated, each ownership experience is different. From the specific model, to the specific car you bought, to the dealership service etc. I have had great experiences with 3 out of 4 VAG cars. My 2006 GTI was a bit problematic, but was always fixed when I took it in.

I did just read about the new Taurus in Motor Trend. They had lots of good things to say about it. However the price was an issue with them as well. The incentives will be available upon release, if that says anything. Also, just like the other used cars you can get for 45k, in about 2 years a CPO SHO for 25k would probably be an excellent value. Throw a big brake kit on there and save up for a transmission replacement and you are set.

lol, those movies are painful to watch. Taken has a good driving sequence with the S8 V10. Thats my choice!!

Well since they aren't on dealer lots yet, all I can do is take what reputable magaiznes are saying. Also, being very knowledeable on SHO's of the past, and reading their impressions, I can reasonabley make my own assumptions. Are you telling me that you have never praised or thrown shit at a car that you haven't driven? Also, have you driven in a test drive to the extent that the magazines do? They rag the shit out of the cars so that we can know something about them before we go drive them. They also know that we are not able to and probably wouldn't anyway drive these cars to their limits, but they do it anyway. I haven't driven the SHO, but will be as soon as I can. Then will you stop bitching about my comments if they are exactly the same? lol, I ate about 4 burgers and anthony drove an R/C car into my 3 day old GTI:asshole: A6, not A8. And nobody is arguing the value of the SHO. We are simply stating that its crazy to argue competition and value based on size and hp. Price, sure, but nothing else. Thank you.... /Thread
  16. I think I would take a CPO 4.2 R8 over one of those. The R8 is my feasable dream car.
  17. Don't you guys think that the RS5 would be a much better car? or potentially even the same car? If the RS5 materializes, it will indeed be in the 70-90k range and have well north of 400hp. It is sounding like they are just opening up the model range. I wonder if they will produce the RS5 being close to 4000lbs AND a similar car (ur quattro) at around 3000lbs. They both seem to be roughly the same car, I wonder exactly how this is all going to work. Not a big fan of the styling though.

Quotes from shoforum: lol your acting like such a girl going over there and saying how pissed you were and asking what you should do to me and that you needed to be calmed down. What a joke man. Grow a pair of balls and a thicker skin. You won't get far in life if you are getting this bent out of shape about an internet car forum. Please show me where I shit in threads that aren't about German cars. You don't know what the fuck you are talking about. I am a car enthusiast, all cars, but happen to prefer VAG cars. Feel free to look up my posts on shoforum and here to see exactly what kind of a poster I am. You will soon find out I am in no way how you describe me. If you weren't such a girl you would notice that certain people on CR have very distinct personalities. People like to jokingly give people crap, ride people about breaking down, make fun of certain cars they don't like but in person they are very nice people. Just like any forum there are some people that are dicks, and some that are stupid, but that is universal. There are dozens of people that would try to help you in any way they can. I received help from a local shop on my intake and he didn't charge me a thing. There are also members that throw huge get togethers on their dime. There are vendors have give CR members discounts on products and labor too. So yeah, your right, nobody cares about anybody on here. You got sand in your clit because I made fun of shoforum members a bit, but in defending shoforum, you made fun of CR. You are a hypocrite. The new SHO is a cool car, and looks great in black, but to suck its nuts like MOST people on the shoforum are doing because of the badge is ridiculous. I was simply expressing my distaste for how shoforum has handled the arrival of the new SHO. Have an independent thought on the matter, don't be a sheep. Go back to shoforum since you can't seem to hang with people who have their own opinions.......:gtfo:

Why don't you go on the shoforum and bitch about this too? Douche bag. You do realize that everyone has a different opinion on what cars mean to them and what they value in a car right? I am not a fan of the new SHO and I will tell anyone that asks me about them. If you read all of the new SHO threads on shoforum you will realize that indeed their are some HUGE SHO fan boys that are so blinded by the badge they are willing to look past the obvious problems with the new SHO. Just because I jokingly called them country bumpkins is no reason to go whine on shoforum about me and ask what you should do.......... The magazines even support my opinion calling it not a sports sedan, but a high powered cruiser. Also, Ford is already offering 1000 rebates on a car that isn't even on lots yet. So you tell me it isn't overpriced. Be realistic, a 45k Taurus........really? I am curious, what WERE you going to do? Don't get all big and cocky on another forum when your the one acting like a bitch. Calm down and take my posts as an opinion. Most of the people on the shoforum are fantastic people that would go out of their way to help you. However some are also blinded by the new SHO badge and saying ridiculous things and comparing them to cars completely out of its league. Grow up.

Since you obviously didn't read much of the thread, a well maintained 5 speed SHO should have pulled on that big time from a roll. They were high 14 second cars from a dig, but were exceptionally bad at dig racing. They would regularly beat cars that ran up to a second quicker in the 1/4 because they are high rpm, roll cars. Some of the fastest 5 speed SHO's stock were around your times from a dig, let alone from a roll. GTP's on the highway are nothing special unless they have some serious work in them. Good old 4 speed spoiling the fun.
