  1. Yep, mine is CPO until 74k with $0 deductible. I think the Audi CPO is 100k with a $50 right? Either way, I have nothing to worry about for 2 years (30k left of warranty) Brakes and suspension are up first though.
  2. LSD a car that doesn't overheat after a certain model year they welded the differential so you have to replace the whole thing if you want a LSD an interior worthy of 45k just to name a few I would take an S5 over the 335 any day, and an S4 over an A5. No BMW's for me.
  3. The only thing I don't like is the issues with the cam followers. At least it is cheap and easy to replace them, but if the cam itself fails=$$$$
  4. MKIV GTI curb weight is 2900lbs MKV GTI curb weight is 3100lbs While I have heard that VW was unhappy with the quality, it is pretty much accepted as a reason VW produced so there would be a reason to cut the production run short to save cost. The MKV was losing money for VW because it was so expensive to produce, so they cut the production run which wasn't supposed to be replaced for a few more years and moved up the MKVI release to save money. The MKVI is slated for only a 2 or 3 year run until the MKVII can be released as well. It is already in the works even though the MKVI has just been released in europe. It does come down to personal preference, but mostly it comes down to money.
  5. Please explain these quality concerns you speak of...... I love how the MKIV guys try to act like the MKV isn't a fantastic car. It is the reason the GTI is back on the map in the hot hatch segment. While the MKIV is a nice car, the MKV is better in EVERY way. If you don't think so, start naming things. This isn't a dick measuring contest, but be real.
  6. lol, yeah my wife thinks the same thing. She LOVES the 1.8T GLI's and HATES the new 2.0T GLI's. I personally like both body styles, and up until the recent car value downturns, the MKIV GLI's were extremely expensive considering their mileage and age. Great cars either way, you should post up some pics of yours.
  7. From all of the Audi/VW forums I am on, the majority seem to do 70-90k, with a few outliers before and after. DSG service at 40k for me, so my 80k service is going to be EXPENSIVE!!!!! haha
  8. The A5 is a great car. It comes with the 3.2 V6 with FSI direct fuel injection and 265hp. I would recommend the 6mt over the auto, but the new auto is worlds better than they were before. I also would recommend the S-line package because they look dead sexy and it adds the amazing 19" wheels which are my favorite Audi wheel ever made. They are pricey though. A loaded A5 will be a few thousands MORE than an S5. I have driven both, and of course loved them both. The S5 has fantastic power, and the A5 has good power. The new A4 can be had with the 3.2 and an auto, or even better, the new 2.0T with a mt. They are essentially the same car, and you can pick up an A4 for much cheaper, and with the new 2.0T with a chip, can get 330 crank tq.
  9. How often are you doing your changes? 75k seems to be the accepted real world mileage for doing the belt.
  10. Yeah, it took me about 2 weeks to get activated. I can try to PM you on here when they are having their meets if you want, until you get activated.
  11. Your tq is def healthy for having AWD loss. APR stated that they tend to be more conservative on their driveline loss so that everyone can make their claimed power levels in the real world. I use 25% for Quattro manuals. Indeed the 1.8T takes a SUPPORTED K04 to make that kind of power. The PCV is supposed to be good for 1-2psi of boost, and the DV helps with holding the boost longer. You should be posting up some great numbers with your new setup.
  12. I think he has APR stg 2 with a DP. APR claims 250/305 ish with just their 93 file, and DP adds a few of each. The + to the A4 is AWD, the - is weight. The GTI/GLI with comparable mods will be faster from a roll, but not be as much fun, or usable. You guys all need to show up to some OhioVW meets sometime.
  13. I really wish I could take advantage of APR's special. Its a crazy good deal, although its 599 for us MKV guys. I need brakes and suspension before I will throw money at the engine. Car looks great btw.
  14. Thats because you drive like a girl...........
  15. Can you explain this a bit? My GTI came with synthetic stock, did the MS3 not? What is the reasoning behind keeping dino because its a turbo and city driven? I use M1 0-40 every 5k.
  16. What is the price, I couldn't find it on their website.
  17. I would be interested if I get some brakes.
  18. I live next to Alex, used to have the SHO's, then the A4, now the GTI. I was there on Sat at Hoover.
  19. BMW: remove stickers and M badge and get new rear window. Civic: burn
  20. Because he didn't want to lose in front of his friends.
  21. First pic looks great. Post it up without the words.
  22. Good to meet some of you guys. I will def be attending more meets this year. With turning the clocks forward thing, I didn't get home from work until 5:45AM last night/this morning. Wish I could have stayed longer at the meet.
  23. I am out washing my car for the Hoover meet and a guy and his golden retriever walk by. The dog poops in the yard next to ours, the guy picks it up with a plastic kroger bag, and "hands" the bag to the dog. He takes the bag in his mouth by the handles and they turn around and walk back home. Dog was carrying his own poop home for the owner to throw away. I commented on how awesome it was to the owner. Anyone have cool dog stories?
