  1. I go through these fits about once a month, like a girl. I try to justify getting rid of my car (any car) and then come back to reality. I will be getting my car detailed this summer and do R32 brakes and suspension when I graduate at the end of the year. This will surely get me to the end of my CPO 74k warranty where I can then justify going straight to a K04 turbo upgrade. Thanks for helping.
  2. I am severly bi-polar with my cars. In the winter I hate almost any car I own because of the severe mental retardation that occurs with MOST drivers in ohio along with the millions of lbs of salt and sand they douche the roads with. It makes the inside and outside of my cars rediculous. I actually love my car, and could not justify buying another car when the wife and I are saving to buy a house. I will most likely keep the GTI until we have a house and our finances in order. My goal is to DD the GTI and to get a Gen 2 SHO 5 speed as my project car summer of 2010.
  3. Personally I would like to have the B5 RS4 as my "toy" and a B7 RS4 Avant as my DD. This of course would require a trust fund and moving across the pond.
  4. As with any car, the parts you mod will potentially have the warranty on that part alone voided, or parts that would wear because of the modded part. For instance If I installed coilovers, They could not void my powertrain warranty. If something breaks, like the control arms, then I would expect to pay for the repair unless it was a manufacturing defect. A chip and full exhaust would be basic mods for these cars. The DV would be fixed so I wouldn't have to deal with blowing the stock one, multiple times, and the same with the PCV. I have a good relationship with my service tech, so it would not be a problem.
  5. Impreza, MKV cars(rabbit, gti, r32, jetta), Passat, Fusion, Camry etc........ Accord, Legacy all do not have enough leg room. I am limited by either my shoulder width or my leg room. :gtfo:
  6. Yes I am, 340. That is not what the problem is. Its the leg room. 6'6". Thanks though :asshole:
  7. The 3.2 with a 6 speed is also intruiging for a nice reliable DD. However S-line 3.2 6 speed Avant is as rare or more rare than S4 Avant 6 speed.
  8. In all likelyhood, I will get an S-line Avant, or a preferably a 2008 non S-line 2.0T 6 speed (all 2008 have S-lin exterior standard) with xenons. I will add suspension and a chip/testpipe/dv/pcv fix at a minimum. Unless I find a nice B7 S4 in that price range.
  9. I do not know Jason. I would be interested to see his car. A chipped GTI will pull a stock R32 from a roll, but like you said, R32 from a dig. Not a fan of the standard WRX, even the new 265hp version. I might be looking at an SUV also lol.
  10. Too small.......the new impreza is larger on the inside at least for me.
  11. I do like the MS3 as a whole, but there is not a single car in the "hot hatch" category including the WRX, Cobalt SS/TC and the like that I would trade the GTI for............except its bigger brother the R32. You and I both know that the only car to beat the GTI has been the MS3. They are both fantastic cars, but I could not justify switching into such a similar car (FWD turbo hatch). The R32 adds the great 3.2 V6 and AWD to switch things up. They aren't the fastest things on the road, but handle well, sound great and are well appointed. Basically like the S4, but in a smaller hatch body. I figured I would get bombarded with the EVO and STI. I am not interested in either the Evo 8/9 or the pre 08 STI's. I am intrigued by the new STI even though it is "not as fast, doesn't handle as well" as the previous style. It is said to be a better road car. The new Evo also interests me, but not as much. The CTS-V interests me, but I think I would rather have the V8 S4. (audi guy remember?) LOL to buying notches and such for a well appointed DD.:bs: I am also throwing around buying a cheaper car(15k-20k) and getting a project car as well.
  12. I am an Audi/VW guy. I previously had a 2006 A4 2.0T Quattro 6 speed with a chip, and currently have a 2006 GTI DSG. The Audi's are always tops on my list, and it seems the only VW on it anymore is the 2008 R32. 2008 R32 DSG 2006-2008 A4 S-line Avant 2.0T 6 speed 2005-2006 S4 6 speed Those are the cars I always narrow it down to.
  13. What car would you consider if you wanted to spend 25k this year. The car would be your ONLY car and daily driven in rain, snow, salt etc. Car would need to be fun to drive, and handle well. AWD and RWD is preferred, but FWD MIGHT be ok. Options such as Xenon lights, leather etc are preferred as well. Oh and the kicker is that it MUST have a warranty of at least 2 years. As you can tell I am going to be buying myself a car towards the end of this year, but am completely bi-polar when it comes to cars. Looking forward to the responses. Thanks.
  14. Look at depreciation info, mod price for the ones you are considering (if any), and just sit and look at pictures and videos online until your mind is made up. I personally think that mustangs are one of the best sounding cars made.
  15. I for some reason have a mental block when it comes to the word lose. I always type loose. Fixed it.
  16. Mustang's look better imo, but the GTO has the better engine. Depending on what you want to do with it they are both good cars. It would be a tough choice for me but I would lean towards the Mustang.
  17. They are supposed to be great cars that get high marks for handling and fun to drive.....ness. However the interior has amazingly horrible ergonomics. It is too busy, and is not instinctual at all. Their interior is their worst aspect in my opinion, and it is supported by the press. They are fun to drive, and decently fast, high 14s to low 15s for the S model. You should check out the MKV GTI (2006+) also. Always is first or second in the hot hatch tests. However as these guys have said, buying a 15k car to save depreciation on a mustang worth 15k at most..........is an interesting proposition. You will spend more than you will lose over the "life" of the mustang.
  18. I was in mechanical engineering as a freshman. I started slacking off end of fresh year and beginning of soph year so I changed my major a few times. Wish I would have kept with engineering. Good luck man.
  19. Congrats though Dont fuck it up. Its worth missing a party here and there to graduate on time. I fucked around, took some time off and am doing the 6 year plan (total from start to finish including 1 1/3 years off and 3 major changes) I am sure there are lots of people in similar situations as me, keep your head planted and go to class. Its cake if you do those things.
  20. Good luck finding a softer/smoother ride from an infinity/BMW. The non sport Audi A4 suspension is very compliant and smooth.
  21. As stated, all auto's do this. Normal. There might be programming changes year to year, but it will be updatable on all cars. They did not change anything engine wise from 2005.5-2008(B7's). Great cars.
