Not to take anything away from this car... because it is AWESOME... but damn does the term "street car" get thrown on anything with doors anymore or what?

I rarely post my inventory on here, as I don't want to clutter this forum up. However... I got in a car so special, I couldn't not share. I understand at this price point, it's certainly not for everyone. I would offer significant savings to keep this car local-ish. It truly is the nicest all around car I have ever seen. So anyways, here it is: Price $149,900 FULLY built and modified Alpha 12 This car is one of the nicest and most thorough GT-R builds ever. No part was left untouched. It would take around $300,000 to fully replicate from scratch Chassis mileage is 32,175 however most of the mods have less than 3,000 It is a proven build, already running an 8.69 @ 166.5 on 18" DOT Radials. It's not the first GT-R to run 8s, but it might be the best looking one to do so. This car could absolutely be a show car. If oil goes to $20 a barrel I'm going all-in. Currently 100% sideline right now. (even my SEP $ is currently in Money Market)

You would then have to believe that the federal government is going to raise the tax rate on the average retired person. IMO, if you are making enough money to comfortably max out your work 401k, you are probably in a higher tax bracket already. The immediate tax savings of investing extra in a traditional vs a Roth (lets say 28% of $5,500 which is $1540) could then be invested into a regular account (non retirement) and I assure you the addition of this would more than offset any potential future tax savings of the Roth. It's pretty hard to explain via a forum post, but basically when you are talking about compounding interest on the additional today savings (not paying tax on the money invested today) even assuming a pretty lousy 6% ROI over a 20-30 year period, the tax rates would almost have to double on the 3rd bracket (currently $37,451 - $90,750 *will adjust with inflation) where you will more than likely fall during retirement. So if you think the gov will make most retired people pay 40% federal tax instead of todays 25%... go for the Roth edit: I will add... Roths are great for people who currently DON'T pay federal taxes. But question has always been... well how can they fund it. Unless you are a teen, making minimal money being supported by your parents. In which case it is a GREAT tool.
-
Also, why a Roth? Do you think your income at retirement will be higher than it is now? If not (most people retire on a smaller income than they live on in their working years) a Roth might not be the way to go anyways.

Define "active" Day trading requires a margin account, which isn't allowed in a Roth. Not to say you can't buy and sell stocks, you just can't "day trade" inside that particular account type.

Recommendation for a lawyer specializating in 2nd amendment issues
2highpsi replied to noobiemcnooberson.'s topic in Dumpster
I'm not an attorney (but I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night) BUT, if I had to choose: A.) Something happens where I had to shoot someone to save my life, I had no idea who to call and ended up with court appointed representation. or B.) Something happens where I had to shoot someone to save my life, I have the best attorney in the state on retainer, and a forum thread (evidence) of me asking for said info "just incase" I think I might rather be in position A. -
Good stuff! Put some miles on that thing next year for sure. And... Dibs on the V160 when you pull it. :gabe:

What Z rated tires are you guys running?
2highpsi replied to Clifford Automotive's topic in Passing Lane
I can't imagine. Of everything I tried, the best traction from a roll (say a 25MPH rolling launch) was the R888. Those tires had too many downsides for me though. They were loud, they picked up EVERY little pebble, and they didn't last at all. Not sure they would be enough to hold that much power on RWD, but maybe worth trying? -

Over the past two years I tried out a ton of different tire combos. R888 Bridgestone Potenza RFT NT01 NT555r MT ET II / 555R combo MPSS NT05r I'm down to a permanent six pack now. I run the 4 MPSS 99% of the time, and swap only the rears to an NT05r at the drag strip. The MPSS is by far my favorite. The ONLY thing it didn't do well, was take 4000rpm launches without spinning. They are quiet, ride good, last long, and corner well. -
To be fair, "mass shootings" tend to happen in places where people aren't allowed to conceal carry. I could link you a dozen instances of CCW holders saving their own or others lives.

I'll just leave this here :gabe:

:lolguy: I <3 your threads. For all potential buyers, I shall tell my riveting tale of my purchase experience with the one and only Dr. Tilley. It was early spring back in 2013. The world was a different place back then. Turmoil in the then current geopolitical environment had markets a mess. The USD was going up and down like a sine wave, and retailers of office supplies knew that they had young budding entrepreneurs like myself by the short hairs. Here I was, wanting to open a new business however I was having nightmares that kept me up at night. These terrors were as real as the sky is blue. I imagined customers coming in, wanting to do business with me, but they had no place to sit and I had no desk to write on. Try and picture sitting on the ground indian style, working a car deal. I knew that no one would take me seriously without having some HIGH QUALITY furniture and office fixtures. You ever watch field of dreams? Well I have. This guy (who was obviously unknowingly harvesting psychedelic mushrooms with his crop and feeding it to his family) starts hearing a voice that says "If you build it they will come". Now I don't do shrooms, or any drugs for that matter, but I heard that same voice. It had a different message though. "If you look on CR garage sale, your furniture will come" At first I ignored the message, but after eating a bowl of cereal in which the corn flakes took for form of James Earl Jones' face, I knew I had to scratch that itch and look on CR. Up till this point I hadn't known Dr. Tilley on a personal level. I knew he once aired on an episode of MTV cribs, and had multiple times been approached by hair product companies wanting him to be the face (or head) of their product, but that was about it. When I saw his ad on here, I knew this was the ad that the voices had told me about. After exchanging some completely appropriate non sexual text messages, Dr. Tilley offered me the whole lot of furniture and fixtures at a great deal. I know people throw the term "good deal" around a lot, but this was genuinely one of them. This was one of those deals that was so good I actually wrote down everything I got, the price I paid and copy and pasted it to word, saved on my hard drive, backed it up on a jump drive, drove to the bank, put the jump drive in the safe deposit box, and will leave it there until my kids turn about 12 (when they can actually state their age, and ask what it is I'm showing them), when I will pick it up, put it in an old USB drive reader and relay this great deal story to them and tell them, "kids, this is what a great deal should look and sound like...not like the great deal stories your generation tells. To this day I am still using many of the fine products that I purchased from the OP. I still get compliments on them as well. One of the pieces of furniture I purchased was almost certainly a "casting couch". I bring this up because I had the couch forensically examined by the FBI for traces semen. You know what they found? NOT A DROP. Now you and I both know that there is no way in hell there is a casting couch without semen on it. It was that day that I learned Tilley not only has rock hard abs, and hair to make john stamos jealous, but he also has the BEST furniture cleaners and re-conditioners this side of the Mississippi.

NICE! I have a feeling you will be updating your personal best again next time you go out :fuckyeah:

Congrats on hitting 8s!! But WTF happened there? I mean, for something that heavy to run 8s, you are talking about a mid 150s trap right? So for you to run an 8 on a 143, I can only assume you were heading towards a 160 pass, but something at the top of the track went wrong?
