  1. You really gotta hand it to him. I mean who else can report $230,000,000 loss in Q3 and see the price of their stock go up.

  3. :fuuuu: High deductible shit plan, HERE WE COME!
  4. I wish our pricing chart looked like the one above. Everyone I know with a small business experienced HUGE premium increases (assuming same coverage) in the past two years, yet none of these charts ever depict that. I would assume I was getting hosed, but I shopped it everywhere. Most recently I wasn't even able to re-create a plan like what we already have. Something about it not being "ACA approved" or something. All of the ACA plans had much less coverage.
  5. They don't have any beneficial subsidies available to them due to pay. (We try to take care of our employees) I think next year we are going to go high deductible, and help fund HSAs initially. My originally post was pretty much a worthless rant. I agree that something needed changed in healthcare pre ACA, I'm just not happy with what we got.
  6. I would love to see a study comparing insurance premiums from 1986-2013 vs 2013-2015 EMTALA is not the problem. For damn near 30 years after EMTALA hospitals were profitable, insurance companies were profitable, and insurance was a hell of a lot more affordable. (For the people actually paying for it) The few people that I have seen actually get very affordable insurance through the ACA actually already qualified for assistance through existing programs like Medicaid. Our insurance premiums have doubled in less than 3 years. My business's single largest annual expense is health insurance. The policy covers 8 full time employees (some of them are family plans) and costs more than I pay myself annually. Between taxes and insurance costs, I honestly ask myself some days why I even bother.

    LOL

They had some HIGH DOLLAR equipment. That scan tool alone with all the options (full Euro) is $70k.
  8. Requires Tax, Title, Doc Fee, acquisition fee, and license down. Also requires A-1 credit. Not saying it's not a good deal.... cause it can be. Just not everyone qualifies for it, and "sign and drive" isn't what most people think it is.
  9. Cheap car prices are the highest during tax time. If you are still waiting till around then to pick up a newer ride, I would hang on to the Lincoln and toss it on CL. Should bring decent money that time of year.
  10. It's always a pleasure Mitch! THANK YOU for always making the drive to deal with us. You were right about that photo spot.... perfection
  11. Congrats man!! That's awesome
  12. Someone went through the trouble of editing all the trailers together, into one really long one. Came out pretty good IMO.
  13. I don't often watch movies at a theater. This will be an exception. Pretty amped to see it.
  14. I lurk this thread as well. Love the car. Keep the updates coming!
  15. All the pics are awesome! The JET sticker looks sweet on the Bentley You are a class act Doc, and I'm more than happy to help for a good cause.
  16. This kind of shit always worries me when I'm around a dyno. I was talking to a couple guys about this video last night, and it seems like this happens more than you would think. The one guy had it happen on a BRAND NEW set of tires as well. That dyno pull seemed like it was FOREVER long... but I don't know where the gearing on a Mustang puts 150MPH gear and RPM wise. You are suppose to dyno in your 1:1 gear, which for example on a GTR is 5th gear. I have seen plenty of those exceed 160 MPH wheel speed during a pull.
  17. I'm not hating on them for taking advantage of grants, loans, rebates, and abatements. Of coarse any business that has those kind of things available to them will take advantage of them. I understand what you are saying about the superchargers, but you can't ignore that cost. Musk might be a genius when it comes to most things, but thinking that you can bleed cash to the tune of 500 million dollar net losses annually isn't being a good business man, it's being arrogant and ignorant. Your Subway franchise analogy is a little bit off. This would more accurately describe the situation: Joe opens a Subway. He is losing money because he is paying some large payment on the building, and a franchise fee. A lot of those costs will disappear in 10 years, and after that Joe will be greatly profitable. Joe gets the bright idea to promise to have a sub he sells for $1. He can't make the sub for $1, and the store obviously has production limitations. So the only thing Joe is doing is ensuring his company loses MORE money. It will take time away from his sandwich artists who make $5 subs (which are profitable) as well.
  18. Please explain? Tesla is a company that I WANT TO love, but I can't completely throw out everything I know about fundamentals because they make "cool shit".
  19. Yeah... it isn't happening. 4.9 BILLION in government subsidies and still operating at a net loss selling cars for 3x as much. Sooner or later they have to start working towards self sufficiency and getting itself of the .gov teet. And $35k cars that cost more than that to produce, are not gonna get them there.
  20. Can't believe this didn't get posted before page 2 http://racing-forums.com/attachments/uploadfromtaptalk1339562731220-jpg.3839/
  21. Thanks guys! Das me Please hit me up if I can help with anything. Contact info is in my sig.
  22. You know how I know I'm getting old? The first thing that went through my mind was, "WTF is wrong with these people surrounding a 1600hp car on the dyno" Car is ridiculous though. I love it
  23. Most everyone I know around me (the line dividing regular AEP, and GM Co-Op is very close to my house) is paying in the 7s. I'm paying in the high 13s. They don't have any "special rules", however they don't do NET metering. That was the kicker that prevented me from digging further into solar before. However, with the new battery tech I'm considering looking back into it. I'm so disgusted with the Co-Op that it's more about trying to break free from them than it is saving money. That being said, I also won't throw money away just to spite them. If my break even were within a very reasonable lifetime expectation of the whole system (panels, inverters, batteries) I would probably just do it.
  24. Based on what kwh rate? I ask, because I'm unfortunately stuck with a Co-Op who charges almost double the average local rate. Edit: Speaking of alternative energy, I drove to Chicago yesterday and was AMAZED how many wind farms I saw in NW Ohio and Indiana.
