  1. Watch Fu Yuanhui's interviews. As a swimmer myself, she's off the hook, but even for people without a background in the sport, she's still funny. Early teens, generally. They're smaller to begin with, but CHN has been found to falsify entry ages before. Younger kids are less likely to hold back or refuse to attempt really dangerous stuff since they haven't developed that "This could really fsck me up" fear yet.
  2. Not familiar with that battery specifically, but two recommendations (using marine/deep cycle, and Deka) are spot on. Not sure about AGM v. gel (I use nothing but AGM, but my requirements are 100+ amp high-rate discharge, not deep discharge). Eli (if he's still lurking) might know more about that since he was working with batteries even before I was.
  3. I'd say those who do probably fall into three categories: - Ohio U grads (like myself) - Film majors - People who saw the X rating and figured there would be pterodactyl porn or somesuch.
  4. He's the six-fingered man's illegitimate child.
  5. You fscking suck. Every morning, that bitch in my mouth got cranked before I even had a chance to brush my teeth :fuuuu:
  6. Had one of the vile things as a kid myself, absolutely hated it. It's like having some kind of medieval torture thing directly implanted in your mouth that your parents (usually your mother) take sadistic delight in cranking every morning. That said, expanders are generally used when kids are young not to help straighten the teeth they have right now, but to ensure sufficient space is available for the much larger adult teeth that will be erupting in the coming years. As it is, I still had my upper vampire canines pulled, but the upper wisdom teeth grew in without any problems at all (unlike my lower jaw, which didn't have an expander, and required removal of the wisdom teeth, and the two front incisors are somewhat twisted even after braces due to cramming).
  7. Doing this yourself, or having a GC/plumber do it? If the latter, it's their problem to worry about
  8. The '34 Chevy image/link isn't showing, but going to have to disagree on the 33 Buick... the "joint" (for lack of a better word) between the roof and the body in Joe's pic has a larger roll on the top, while the Chevy has a roll on the bottom. The bumper attachment(?) is also very different... Chevy looks like the plate is just large enough to hold the bumper and bolts, while Papa Joe's plate is way bigger. It's also much more under the wheel, whereas the Chevy is where the dude is sitting.
  9. Any other hints? From the body shape, I'm guessing mid-30s to late-40s, basically immediately pre-war, to post-war but running on pre-war designs. The spoke pattern on this '35 Buick is similar, though the spare is on the driver-side door rather than the rear.
  10. So does Rin, but I don't see you complaining about her.
  11. Vote Johnson. It's a three-for-the-price-of-one deal. Follow along if you dare! Republicans: Voting for Johnson is the same as voting for Hillary. Democrats: Voting for Johnson is the same as voting for Trump. Libertarians: Voting for Johnson is the same as voting for Johnson. So... One vote for Johnson equals a vote for all three! :fuckyeah:
  12. Benghazi - Nothing, except maybe getting lulled into complacency because it was occupied by "our side" rather than loyalists, and thus not having a large enough contingent of Marines defending the complex. The thing about her telling the military to stand down has been debunked repeatedly, but Republicans keep carrying on as if it were fact. That, and military brass has also said that even if they were told to get their asses moving an hour before they were told to get their asses moving, they still wouldn't have gotten there in time to be useful. Email - The FBI has basically said, "Yeah, she did it, and we can prove it. Problem is, previous SECSTATEs, of both parties, have publicly admitted to doing the same thing, so us going after Hillary now would be career suicide."
  13. Looks more to me like a "We're not going to raid these places because it'd be awful PR" than a "We're not going to raid these places because, well, we're lazy schmucks."
  14. Yes - Basically the structure as it is now (all council members are "at large") basically means it's nothing but a big popularity contest, with nobody answering to anybody. As long as the council members do enough Good Things, where "good" is measured by large campaign donors who then feed back into the re-election campaigns, there is no impetus for the council to do what's right for the city, only what's right for the donors. By switching to the ward/precinct system, you dilute the power of those donors. What's best for companies in the outlying areas like where I live is certainly not what's best for those who are downtown. We all joke about crime at 161-71, but why are police not being shifted in that direction? The "at large" council members have no reason to care, while ward-based people would.
  15. Keep in mind that if you do go with the monitoring service, there may be a permit/license involved. Columbus has a $35 license fee that's good for two years.
  16. No, you don't have to do the $15/mo. I picked up the starter package, and added an extra entry and a motion sensor since I was buying a refurb kit (~25% off) as a first-time setup (another 10% off). Depending on how long it takes my place to sell, and what my work schedule is like, I may end up disabling all the motion and entry sensors, and adding a pair of glass-break sensors instead, leaving the alarm active 24/7 without having to worry about people coming in for showings during the day setting it off, but still sensitive to break-ins at night. Also thinking I should add some smoke detectors. The best part is that once the house sells, I can take it all north and reinstall at the new house.
  17. I put in a SimpliSafe system a couple of months ago when it became obvious that I'd be doing more CLE/CMH commuting. While the expectation is that you'll buy a monthly monitoring subscription, it isn't a requirement, and since the system is 100% wireless, there's no pain/misery getting the thing installed entirely on your own.
  18. And it *is* a trap. Cousin earned a full-ride as a fast-pitch softball player, and her daughter is now attending school on the same train. Both played club growing up, and both have said the same thing... the vast majority of clubs are nothing more than 1-Money grabs, and 2-Status symbols. And what's to say that after five years, the kid says "Y'know what? I don't like soccer anymore. I want to play volleyball instead."
  19. 1. What was code at the time the deck was built? 2. Why is a finance company getting into issues that are the realm of an insurance company?
  20. A second for Microcenter... now that they've got the whole maker section off to the right when you walk in, they've had just about any standard part (caps and resistors, usually) I've needed. For bigger or more specialized stuff, I order from http://www.mouser.com.
  21. Let me check w/ wifey when I get home. Our little one is still a bit small, but would probably be ready next summer.
  22. This. Sister-in-law has now purchased three sheriff's auctions. The first required a good bit of updating (we're talking 70s shag carpet in some rooms and an honest-to-goodness functional 60s incinerator), and the third just a lot of scrubbing, but both turned out well. One is now a rental, and the other she lives in. The second, though... ewwww... dog shit piled up in the basement, broken support beams which required jacking up the entire house to replace... yeah, the thing had its certificate of occupancy revoked and it's only use right now is a giant storage closet while she finishes the upgrades on house three (turning the walk-in attic into a walk-in closet for her massive collection of clothes).
  23. Bummer... our little one is just about to turn three, but is already about as big as a four year old.
