  1. Does anyone know what the amp rating is on the cooling fan relay(s) on the 99 and up Jettas? I have a manual but it doesn't give to amp rating. Need this for a swap project. Dual fan assembly. Thanks.
  2. McGard makes locks for rhe tailgates and for the crank down spare tires..Jegs should have them...I know this from experience.
  3. I agree with punishing people who throw ANYTHING out of their car onto the ground, always reminds me of the litter commercial back in the 70's(before most of you were born) with the Indian(American Indian) standing along side of the road. The bigger question is: who in the hell trolls the news in Halesowen (of Hillfurze, near Bishampton, which is near Evesham)? Where the hell IS Halesowen?

They bought the Strohs brewery in Tampa and are making it there now too. States with distributors: http://www.yuengling.com/distrib.htm

Not sure I agree with the "if it was here you wouldn't"..I have a friend that lives in Harrisburg (Pa)and is from just outside Pottsville and it's like THE beer all over. I thought it was hype until I had it and it's good, I'd buy it before any "national" brand. They did lose a little of the heritage though, they no longer use the natural spring water that the brewery was built on because it no longer flows enough they say. Now they just filter their water like a pharma company would.
  6. Tractor supply has it by the foot if you're near one, as mentioned welding supply like Delille on Marion rd, and I believe Lowes has it on their huge vertical wire carousel in the electrical department.
  7. Since we're being critical, they forgot the side mirrors in the top view. As a concept I think it looks good and seems to follow where designers are going. The front 1/4 view definately says refined 4th gen Firebird. I would like to see a rear view, the tail lights look a little, Toyo-Honda-Nissan to me. Looks like they started at the front and ran out of available length as soon as they cleared the rear wheels, looks chopped off.
  8. Isn't the tax on gas like 49 cents a gallon? You're damn right they would use it (GPS) for more than that. What about onstar and gps enabled phones, they can tell where you are and when. Think about the movies Enemy of the state and Eagle Eye. It's no wonder we have a $10 Trillion deficit and owe it all to China, Japan and other nations. We're spending it all on gadgets we don't need and bailing out companies that waste more money on jet fuel in a month than everyone on the site makes in a year. Damn sad! Only 3 more years until Obama raises taxes, get prepared.
  9. Didn't happen to see a light blue '54 Coronet 4 door with the Hemi and trans missing did you? I've been looking for my car my ex's grandfather sold while I had it parked in his back yard. I still have the Hemi though..and the rams head hood ornament too!
  10. I had the same exact issue when my boys were young, all you really have to do is put her name and address, the IRS will find her..I know they found ours because she made it known complaining about it.
  11. It could work out in the long run to be a good thing if you have the money and foresight. You order a new Camaro with all the right boxes checked but since there is no SS badging you have a sleeper that could be worth a ton in 30 years when the 20-30 somethings are ready to retire with money in their pockets. That's a big part of what has driven the prices up on the first gen Camaros.
  12. Where is Tool Works located?
  13. Can someone recommend a good machine shop for non engine work? I need some holes drilled, tapped, and countersunk on my spindles to attach the caliper mount brackets for the new brake kit. Was gonna do it on a drill press but since they locate the caliper and need to be perfectly parallel with the spindle I would like them done on a mill. Prefer some place on south or west side but am flexible for quality. Don't want my stuff tied up for a week or more either. Thanks.
  14. Jumper cables, spare distributor(never know when that bronze gear is gonna give it up), everything necessary to do a carb rebuild, dist swap, or plug change on the side of the road, fire extinguisher, 12v air compressor, lug removal tools(like the space saver is gonna stand in for my 28"x10" rear tire if I get a flat).
  15. Everyone on this site all together couldn't spend the money the pharmaceutical companies make in one year on all the HIV drugs. I know, I used to make some of them, huge long term money in the treatment, small money in the cure. They learned their lesson from curing Polio, they won't make that mistake again. You've never gone to the doctor for a "cure", but you've been "treated" hundreds of times.

    really CPD?

Something that everyone missed...the personal info published would be from drivers license or state issued id...women always lie about their weight on them. I had a woman give me her id once for a check and it said 160 pounds, she was 275 if she was an ounce!
  17. I was a brazer at Liebert back at the turn of the century(wierd saying that) and I got laid off too. Sad thing is I loved that job and I was damn good at it. I almost went back there last summer when I was unemployed but the job I took was 20 miles less driving each day, first shift instead of third and paid the same hourly. Guess I'm glad I passed on Liebert this time. I don't have any job leads for you but I will offer moral support. Some advice though, get a PROFESSIONAL resume made. I thought I had a good one since I spent 15 years interviewing people for jobs. When I got laid off last year, part of my severance package was a month with a career counseling firm who taught me how to make a truly great resume. What they taught me was almost exactly opposite of what the resume books all say.
  18. So, if I'm understanding this, I want to hook it up to the back, but basically backwards? Since it is basically a one-way valve when engaged, this would keep the pressure from the back brakes in the same way it would keep the pressure from leaving the front brakes when mounted up front? I would just have to use my foot on the brake pedal instead of taking it off like I do now. So...pull in the water box, engage line lock, press brake pedal, heat tires, roll out of the box, release button, stop normally to pre-stage. Yes-no?
  19. Hmmmm, if I put it on the rear brakes, how do I keep it in the box to do the burnout? It's hard enough to keep it in there with it on the front brakes. I could see using it on the rears on a stick car to keep it on the line but I've never heard of it on a auto car. Maybe I've been missing something, I'm interested in anything that will make me faster or more consistant. Tell me more.
  20. Why don't the kids just lock thier phones requiring a password to access it's content? Isn't this possible to do? How many cops copied said nude child porn pics for their collection? Let's just say I used to know a officer of the law that kept momentos of his public service...he also liked to watch young guys do his wife, but that's another story.
  21. You 20 somethings should be glad you're living in the times you are. When I was graduating high school FAST cars were 11-12 second cars and pro stock was in the 8's iirc. Now you have DR cars running 8's and 9's. You don't know how lucky you are.
  22. Yeah I'm going to keep the 1/4" lines for the rear until I install the rear discs next winter. Wilwood says the rear chamber with the axle having the largest piston contact area(front 4 piston calipers). prop before line lock with res press valve on rear system.
  23. I'm putting a Strange master cyl(manual) and Wilwood 4 piston front brake kit on my 82 Camaro, it already has a 9" Moser with the 11" drums in the rear. I run 275/15 drag radials rear(9" slicks at the track) and 165/15 skinnies on the front. The master cylinder has a larger volume in the rear chamber than in the front. Does anyone know if the drums or discs require the additional volume? I have looked at every tech chart in Strange, Wilwood, Mark Williams, and others and cannot find anything on this. Also, Mark Williams recommends an adj proportioning valve on the front brakes when running skinnies up front to put more braking to the larger rear tires, anyone know if it makes a difference whether the line lock is before or after the prop valve in the system? Last, stock line size to drum brakes is 1/4", should I keep the stock size or go down to 3/16" on the rear like the front uses? My theory is that by virtue of the factory using the larger size line on the factory drums and the smaller on the factory discs, that the drums must need more volume and the discs less volume and more pressure. However the 4 piston calipers will have a much larger volume than the stock single piston calipers, about 270% I think so I don't know. I wouldn't think the placement of the prop valve and line lock would make a difference. Any informed help is much appreciated!
  24. It was probably one of those..."one of these days I'm going to fix it up and drive it" things that seems to happen when you get older and life takes over, leaving hobbies on the back burner. Someday you guys will get old and understand what I'm talking about. trust me.
