  1. I've always wanted to be an extra in a movie. This, however, would not be the movie of choice
  2. Think of the drag on the planes wheels if the truck went 200mph. Now 700mph. The drag on the wheels at 3000mph would be incredible and definitely prevent the plane from moving forward. Wish my truck could go that quick --- I'd show you all!!! :woowoo:
  3. If the plane moved forward at all, the treadmill didn't move fast enough. I interpreted the question to mean that the treadmill matched the planes forward speed no matter what. The plane would not have moved if the treadmill was capable of going infinitely fast (as I interpreted it). The real world version, yes the plane flies. My hypothetical and currently impossible to implement interpretation - Its still on the ground with overheated wheel bearings!
  4. If the treadmill could go infinitely fast, internal friction in the wheel bearings would prevent it from taking off. Real world, their treadmill will not go quick enough, and if it did, the bearings would explode from the heat.
  5. He wanted a convertible, so he customized that shit!
  6. The part I laughed at was that he hit 110 FAST. Yeah sure. His civics got about as much power as my miata. Fast is a matter of perception, but 20 seconds is slow compared to about anything else....
  7. I used to race fairly often on the streets. After a certain close call, I realized that the police repercussions, danger to myself, and lastly, the danger to others, was too great. Last year I started racing autoX and it was the best decision I've made in awhile. I'm just as addicted to speed, adrenaline, and driving at my car's limits, but now I have somewhere safe (and legal) to experience it. I think if autocrossing was cheaper, and more widely known about, many kids my age would prefer it to acting like assmonkeys in their civics on Polaris Pkwy
  8. Nice site. Reminded me of this equally serious one: http://z.about.com/d/politicalhumor/1/0/g/F/taliban_singles.gif
  9. I'll be running ES in the miata. soon as i get some azenis!
  10. Craigslist takes yet another victim. One more poor soul driven over the edge by a virtual onslaught of idiots.
  11. those would look ballin' on my miata...
  12. Hello, I are illegal Mexican immigrant. http://farm1.static.flickr.com/249/455791741_a5dcb880bc.jpg Can please, you help me speaks english?
  13. Cool project. Very real world example. Wish my spanish class did projects like this! There's more to Spanish than understanding the language. To communicate with Mexicans, it helps know where they are coming from, and understand their culture. I don't think that the teacher imposed her views on the students. She let them figure out, first hand, the realities facing immigrants to our country. Nothing wrong with a little empathy!
  14. 1. Honda civic with exhaust 2. VW beetle (sounds like my vacuum) 3. Mid nineties Chevy Lumina

    Car bow

    What did you get her?
  16. The Miata rollover at the start of the fourth video definitely gave me the creeps. I never felt the need for a rollbar ---until now.
  17. Porsche 928. Classic, refined, V8 rumble.
  18. I've still got to wait on scholarship information, but as long as they give me a decent package, I'll be making the drive to West Lafayette next year! Nate, are you still involved with their FSAE program? What did you graduate in?
  19. Got to school this morning and about 1/4 of the students had shown up. Went to breakfast, came in 30 minutes late, and now there's about half of us. People freak out way too much about the snow. Unless you're driving a rwd car with massive HP, keeping it under control is not too difficult.
  20. I would really like to get into formula SAE next year. Did you go to Univ of Cincy? Well respected engineering program there. Looks like it treated you well, being 24 and owning an FD and great looking Bimmer! I'll be a boilermaker next year, hope we can compete with your FSAE program!
  21. I knew Jeff last summer when he worked at the Saab Shop. Good guy. Did he ever get the Cobalts up and running after they were wrecked? Sorry I don't have any way to contact him.
  22. Haven't made my decision yet. G-pop shop seems to have the best prices --- $350 for a rebuild + shipping. Evergreen turbo's estimate was close, but nobody recommended them. I've been driving the miata alot recently
  23. I was thinking of the other Cameron Mitchell locations, and the atmosphere and dining experience of Bravo just fit in. Good thing I did not drop off a CM application at Bravo!!
  24. Bought these from a friend last year for autocross. Previously, they had been used on a Porsche for track use. Only saw two autocross events on the SAAB. They're a couple years old, but the grip, compared to street tires, is insane. I'll take some pictures later. No damage to any of the tires. At the moment, they're mounted on SAAB 5x110 rims. I can arrange for a professional to dismount them. Approx 60-70% tread left. Hoping to get around $100. Miata related trades are welcome.
