  1. Haha - yeah! Suddenly "reeling it in" becomes pulling yourself to where the fish is. Definitely not criticizing the setup. Looks like a riot. Any time spent on the water is time well spent.
  2. Thats awesome.... if you hook a big enough fish it would be like having a small motor on there!
  3. I was on Alum about 3 times a week all last summer. Granted, I was usually there on weekdays, but I only saw cops twice the entire summer. Budget cuts (or something) have the patrol force down. My advice would to be sensible, and watch extra hard on holidays/peak times.
  4. Wakeskating's a riot. Half of the fun is doing it in unexpected places. My OSU friends have been known to winch mirror lake...
  5. After the advice, I'll definitely go with a pc. Sounds like it will cut hard enough to fix my scuffs/scrapes while the orbital part will keep me from causing accidental damage.
  6. Just getting my setup together - if I got the porter cable, would it be wise to follow Andy's advice in the thread before this? So, I would get the PC 7464, a range of Lake Country pads (including the light cut purple wool) and Meguiars M105 and M205. Does this sound reasonable? Prices are looking lower than expected. Score.
  7. brian, thanks for the dewalt link. I didn't even think to look used. That will definitely save me some cash! http://www.amazon.com/Porter-Cable-7424XP-6-Inch-Variable-Polisher/dp/B002654I46 That one? Will it do enough "damage" to be worth my time?
  8. As the title says, I'm looking into buying my first buffer. I drive a black car on a college campus, so it has accumulated plenty of paint imperfections. Since there's serious reconditioning needed, I'm leaning toward a straight rotary rather than an orbital buffer. I understand that there is a severe learning curve to the rotary, so I am planning to pick up a scrap black body panel to practice on. Whatever the tool, it will be used for a range of heavy work (after sanding on marine patchwork) to extremely light buffing (removing swirls from black paint) I'd like to spend less than $250 for the buffer, a variety of sufficient pads, and a handful of products. Is this possible? I know the $250 would barely cover the makita buffer that the pro's use, but can I still see good results with one like this? http://www.amazon.com/Advanced-Tool-Design-ATD-10511-Polisher/dp/B000M5ZXDM/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&s=automotive&qid=1271623225&sr=8-3 Also, could you point me in the direction of a starter set of pads and products that will cover light/med/heavy abrasion?
  9. Tell me more?? What's it take to get them back there?
  10. This: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/25th-ANNIVERSARY-EDITION-TWIN-TURBO-V-8-100-PICTURES_W0QQitemZ180490355691QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUS_Cars_Trucks?hash=item2a061043eb I love the look of Esprits. What do you guys think? Any clue why Esprits go so cheap? To put it into perspective, this car is going for the price of a new Passat. Do Esprits handle like shit? Terrible maintenance? It looks like a deal and a half from the outside. I can definitely see owning one after school.

  12. Bummer. I would like to know what Koenigsegg was planning to produce from this odd merger. Wonder if SAAB will get picked up by anybody else, or if this is the death of the brand?
  13. Lost my keys. Going to cost $400 or more to replace. Thanks, world.
  14. I own a HP laptop and it's a turd. Buy either a mac, or buy my HP from me so that I can buy a mac. That 7 hr battery life is a gamechanger. I'm not up to date on laptops right now, but I sure haven't seen any other manufacturers that can claim that kind of life!
  15. http://www.google.com/products/catalog?q=microsoft+excel+2007+book&hl=en&cid=10013560894750239362&sa=title#p Buy that book and work through the tutorials. Taking a class is not worth it. I took an entire CSA 148 class at Miami of Ohio (approx $2000) and we did nothing but work through the book. $60 is alot cheaper! I could even send you a file with my answers and starting files and stuff.
  16. It's a done deal now. The issue was back in 98' when my mom bought a lemon from MAG. The car's been gone for a few years now, but problems were never resolved (even while under warranty). She felt taken advantage of//given up on, and I was too young to work on the car, or do any negotiating myself. Oh, and the best indy's around here order their SAAB parts from Shaker. Reputation just takes time to change. Good luck on that 9-2X! It sounds like a great car. Mom's been so happy with her new Subaru WRX wagon... All the comforts and power from the old SAAB, plus reliability!! I'd definitely recommend taking it to Byers for service. They know their stuff, and are excellent in our experiences.
  17. ps. You're a SAAB tech at MAG? No offense to you personally, but I have some shit to throw at your employer's service department and customer service.
  18. I will buy the car if you don't! Thats a steal for an 06 WRX wagon with low miles. My mom spent about a year looking for that exact car and couldn't find anything below about $16000!
  19. Creepiest shit I've ever heard. Get a security system w/motion detectors, a loaded shotgun, a pitbull, and move back in with your parents. Holy fuck.

  21. looking for boobies..... disappointed
  22. I think that the story would have been better suited for a book than a movie.
