  1. Don't get me wrong, the versatility of the LS platform is awesome based on power numbers, fuel economy and availability of the aftermarket. BUT, I will give the nod towards the person that steps outside of the box to keep power trains "in the family". As someone who enjoys all makes, there are particular qualities each manufacturer provides as far as feel, sound, and visual ques. Although it's neat to cross platforms, taking a newer better power plant from the same lineage of car and "updating" it is just neat.
  2. I mean QSL has walls and a roof and all lol.
  3. This swap is way cooler than a LS.
  4. Vossen's crack pretty easily from what I've seen over at Wheel Medic. Don't get me wrong, CV3's look gangster as shit on Audi's.
  5. This thread is delivering! KYB's are always a good choice, but my experience is that they won't be significantly stiffer than OEM. For what you are doing, drop springs are drop springs. Sway bars would be "neat" in a Clay owning a Cavalier sort of way. They are $255 for the set on shox.com. Don't cut the damn springs lol.
  6. Why such a huge range of 911? There are some big differences in driving experience, equipment, styling, etc. in that range. Have you driven one at all? Just curious because my assumption at this time is no. I come across 911's somewhat frequently "for sale" on the down low sorta like a interview process. Cars come in for service and the owner will drop "well, I would consider selling" and if we mention no one they are happy to just keep it. There is a '71 ish targa behind the shop right now that needs the suspension, brakes, and carbs completely overhauled that if he decided to sell would probably go for sub $10K. We sold a 205K mile '89 Anniversary car for $5K that ran and drove, but was a huge project, etc.....
  7. They (LMP1 Nissans) were really off pace for their class. They actually got penalized for being too slow in qualifying for LMP1. Your qualifying time has to be within a certain percentage of the fastest car in your class and they did not hit that.
  8. I'm such a sucker for white cars. This is awesome! Nice option package too btw, I geek out on weird option packages.
  9. Just throwing this out there as food for thought. Just because you put new rotors on does not mean they are perfect. We turn brand new rotors with an on car brake lathe every brake job and it's surprising how many rotors are not within tolerance right out of the box. Yes, that is with cleaning the hubs, and yes that is with "ultra premium" high end rotors. You can always pop the drums off and run them by most shops and have them turned. Probably cheaper than replacing them if you are doing the work yourself.
  10. All cars are junk, that's why we have jobs in the service industry. American cars aren't any better. You tend to hate what you don't understand and once you understand German cars they become very easy to work on and very consistent.
  11. I've had them do several sets of heads and have been very happy with their work. A MONTH ago I took heads over and Larry said he was retiring the next week. Fast forward to present; Pat (RallyPat) took a set of heads over last week and reported to me that the machine shop was "closed". Now I don't know if that's a indefinite closure, or just until they find someone to fill the position. I'll try and follow up on that status, I don't have a lot of Carquest "ins" other than calling over there like anyone else.
  12. T-Mobile iPhone 5s - White/Silver Cracked screen, upper right corner across top 1/3 of screen Comes with box, new never used head phones. Would prefer to keep cable, could include wall charger. No idea what they are worth, but I need a price, and this is what would be awesome to get. $100
  13. I wished they weren't so strict on the whole racing/passing deal. I went with a huge group of pretty competitive people who cared more about who was in front of who and less about lap times. Made for some aggravating moments of getting power shut down.
  14. Came here to also mention Como Mower, although it's in Clintonville off Indianola.
  15. Have a PPI done. They can be pretty good, but they can get real ugly really fast!
  16. Is it a thing? Is there something else?
  17. I would probably rock a pick up of some sort. 1/2 ton or greater.
  18. A customer of mine has a front end collision 2003 Mini Cooper S that he is interested in selling parts off of. The Hood/headlights/front bumper/airbags/fender liners are all destroyed for the most part. I have the engine and transmission out, but the engine has some damage from the hit. It has drilled and slotted rotors, and lowering springs in the front. I know this ad is sorta vague, I told him I would toss this up for kicks and see if anyone needs anything. PM me a list and I will go to work on it.
  19. Drag car, drift car, street car? Pics?
