LOL, well said Well said, again. I like the C8. It's a very impressive car, especially for the money, and I understand why they aren't offering a stick. But it's still kind of sad that the manual trans is dying off. My current cars are stick shifts and my next cars will be stick shifts. Unfortunately I'm part of the minority, it is what it is

Ford to repair problematic PowerShift transmissions for free
2 Sweet replied to l36tols1's topic in Passing Lane
When I first met my wife, she had a brand new 2013 Focus and that car was pure garbage from the day it left the factory. I was so happy to turn in that shitbox when the lease was up. Good of Ford to admit their fuck up and offer a free fix. -

So even though they are charging for listings now, the fake ads are still on there. Just did a search and three of the first six were fake..... -
Do you want something faster/better performing than the Durango?

So I'm changing the face of my '89 pickup from the Cheyenne (W/T) grille/lights to the Silverado grille with the quad headlights. I went from this.... http://i.imgur.com/7nXZ53jl.jpg to this..... http://i.imgur.com/J7jEBbQl.jpg All it takes is a little wire splicing for the headlights, which seems simple enough since there's only three colors (2x black for ground, 1x green for high beams, 1x brown for low beams). The Cheyenne sealed beams only had one ground wire since the high/low is in the same lamp, whereas the quad lights have two. No big deal. Here's the thing, in case I switch back to the Cheyenne setup at some point, I didn't want to cut off those connectors. I figured I could just crimp on some male spades to the quad light wiring and simply plug it into the existing Cheyenne headlight sockets. Right? Well, that didn't work. The headlights won't come on. So, what did I fuck up? Pics for reference..... http://i.imgur.com/Vjn6xlOl.jpg http://i.imgur.com/K7Vpyl2l.jpg Maybe the male crimp connectors aren't sitting in the socket properly? I don't know jack shit about wiring, but this seemed just as easy as installing an aftermarket stereo and I've done that a dozen times without issue

I would do whatever the Porsche purists hate, because that means it's probably the right idea

Hell yes Such an awesome truck. I'm loving what you've done with it

Looking good, Clay! Especially on TV.....

Could've been the same trans, I think the SM465's were available through '91. I think most GMT400's have the NV3500 or NV4500. If the problem didn't correct itself, I was going to remove the shifter and inspect the stub end where it mounts. Luckily it didn't come to that. I still don't understand how it fixed itself, but I'm certainly no mechanic.

Thanks, good info. I've been hearing good things about Charleston from a lot of people. I definitely want to check it out sometime

I forgot to mention, I've been to Topsail as well. We spent a day there the same time we went to Wilmington and Wrightsville. We must have picked the right day because there was barely anyone else around, and the waves were pretty strong. Fun time, nice beach.

Here's what I'm planning, just for a little context….. It's basically just a bachelor weekend with a few buddies, either next spring or next fall. We would be leaving from Columbus on a Wednesday morning, heading down south and staying the night in Knoxville. Wake up Thursday morning, head east through the Cherohala Skyway to Charlotte where our friend lives, crash there Thursday night. Check out the Hendrick Motorsports race shop Friday morning since he lives right by it, then head east to whatever beach rental we decide to book. Stay there Friday night, Saturday night, probably Sunday night. Drive home Monday. That's the plan, as of now

Right on. I like the sound of that

Haven't looked into anything yet, but I'm sure that will be a deciding factor as far as where we end up. One week minimums seem like they are the norm but I think it depends on the time of year and location. This trip won't be happening until next year anyway, so I have plenty of time to look into it but I have a feeling my options might be limited. Good suggestions, and close enough to NC that I will definitely consider them. I have a buddy who lives near Charlotte and he will be joining us wherever we end up, which is why I'm trying to keep it in NC, but it's not a big deal if we stray a bit further.

I went to Myrtle with a bunch of friends about 10 years ago, it was fun, but a little on the expensive side for what it is IMO. I've never been to Virginia Beach. I don't really care about touristy or not since it'll only be for a weekend and I'm sure I'll be drunk the whole time anyway. I just figure the touristy places are the most expensive. Growing up, my family went to Clearwater Beach (FL) every year and I loved it, but it's become wayyyy too popular over the last 10-15 years and too damn expensive.

Thanks, I'll keep that in mind. I liked Ocean City when I was there (specifically Seacrets, which was one hell of a good time) but I wouldn't want to stay there more than a night or two, so it's nice to have a recommendation for a good beach to stay in the nearby area. Holmes Beach (FL) or do you mean Holden Beach? Very nice! Solid suggestion, thank you

Preferably in the NC area. 4-6 adults, no kids, 2-3 nights. Thinking a condo or airbnb, nothing fancy, but something with close proximity (walking distance) to the beach, hopefully a couple decent bars/restaurants close by. Probably not in the outer banks, don't care about being isolated so what's the point. Low budget. Definitely want something cheaper than Myrtle Beach, for example. It doesn't have to be a super nice beach, just not rocky or trashed since I'm sure we'll be swimming in the ocean. Not concerned about attractions or stuff to visit, we basically just plan on drinking a lot and bumming on the beach. A few suggestions I've received but haven't done much/any research myself yet..... Carolina Beach Emerald Isle Ocean Isle Beach Beaufort, NC Wrightsville Beach Trying to stay in North Carolina, but we might consider as far north as Virginia Beach or as far south as Myrtle Beach. I've been to Wilmington/Wrightsville Beach before and liked it a lot, but I wasn't old enough to drink at the time and we were camping, so I have no idea how pricey or cheap it might be to rent a place by the beach for the weekend. Suggestions?

You know what's weird? Since the day I made this thread, the truck hasn't had this issue at all ever since. Not even once! It's running, driving, shifting flawless again. Doesn't make any sense, but I guess I don't need to worry about it

I love the 2016-18 Camaro, and I plan on buying one soon. But the 2019+ look goofy IMO.

I guess it depends on the colors and the layout. Some of them I've seen end up looking like a kid's playroom..... http://saraharrier.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/10/foam-tiles-for-playroom-astonishing-eco-soft-kid-safe-interlocking-basement-floor-underlayment-decorating-ideas-11.jpg

Everyone on the "Garage Journal" forums has a hard on for "RaceDeck" tiles similar to what you posted above, and I don't really understand the appeal. It seems like a pain to clean the floor and personally I think they look silly. The smooth epoxy with the flakes looks wayyyyyyyyy better and is much easier to keep clean. Definitely worth the extra labor IMO
