    '02 Cougar $148k/yr salary
  2. Yeah, these workers are already getting compensated really well, and they want more? That's a problem. But but but GM abuses their employees Scott said it best......
  3. My grandpa didn't say that, my wife's uncle said it and he's only been retired for a couple years. So either GM is terrible because they treat their employees like shit, or they are terrible because they overpay their employees? Which is it?
  4. I agree, which is why I don't understand how GM is supposedly treating their employees like shit
  5. So GM is a shit company that deserves to go bankrupt because of stuff they (and everyone else) did 40, 60, 80 years ago? I know that's not what you're saying, but some folks seem to feel that way and I don't think that's a fair judgement. One thing I know is that my grandfather worked at GM on the assembly line from 1948 until he retired in 1984. Nothing but great things to say about his time at GM. Same story for his buddies. Same story for my wife's uncle who retired from GM a couple years ago. If you ask him, he'll tell you many of his co-workers had a cake job and were drastically overpaid.
  6. Interesting. Can you guys elaborate on this? I know several people that worked for GM for many years, and they all say the exact opposite
  7. Looking to rent a dumpster to clean out my mom's house, and hopefully just have it dropped off in the driveway, then picked up a week or so later once it's full. I'm assuming most places are flat rate and charge per week? I'll probably need a 30 or 40 yard dumpster, there's 40 years worth of junk packed in this house that needs trashed. Any local places you guys would recommend?
  8. I'm no mechanic and I've never worked at a shop, so take my opinion for whatever that's worth, but $80 is surprisingly cheap IMO. I just assumed that most shops in central Ohio were $100 or higher. I think location has a lot to do with it. A small shop in London charging $80 while a similar shop in Upper Arlington charges $110 wouldn't shock me at all. A buddy from work always uses a mechanic in Circleville for all his stuff, Jim's Transmission or something like that, and apparently the guy will swap an engine for $500ish labor. It might take him a while to get to it but that's crazy cheap regardless, and my buddy isn't the type that would BS about stuff like that so I believe him. He's had his Eclipse, his Ram, and a couple other cars swapped there. But there are so many variables involved so comparing labor rates between shops is rarely apples to apples, which is kind of my point I guess. From a customer's standpoint, I honestly don't care about how much I'm being charged per hour for quality work, as long as it's a fairly reasonable estimate for the situation. It's really annoying when a shop quotes you $1100 for a heater core replacement or $2200 to replace some drum brake hardware. If a goof like me who has never done the repair before can get it done in a couple hours, why am I being quoted so high? I know why, it's usually because the shop is busy and doesn't wanna fuss with it unless I'm dumb enough to actually pay that price. One of my idiot friends really paid $1800 to replace the cat converter on his Pontiac G6. The guy told him "Pontiacs aren't made anymore so the part is really expensive" and he was dumb enough to believe him. "A fool and his money..."
  9. Good advice, fellas. Thanks for all the replies. Still not sure what to do about a mouse that's between the floors, but I'll figure out some good spots to set some traps baited with peanut butter and hope for the best. Like I said, a cat isn't an option. My dog would probably kill it
  10. Craigslist seems like a waste of time now, unfortunately. I've heard FB Marketplace is the best now. I listed a car yesterday and I'm still getting craigslist type responses so far. Do you still have it, any trades, what's wrong with it, etc. Because reading the listing is so hard apparently
  11. I've got a two story house on a slab, older neighborhood in Hilliard. Last year I found a mouse outside the house, killed it with a shovel. Well now twice this year I've caught a little bastard inside the house, running across the kitchen floor. There's been no sign of them, no damage or droppings, no food in the pantry getting eaten, etc. But the last couple days I've been on the first floor and heard some little fucker running around in the ceiling above me. I think there's one between the first and second level. We have a dog so I can't set out poison, can't just get a cat because the dog would hate it. And I really don't feel like dicking around in the attic or crawl space or whatever to set out traps. I would rather hire an outside service like Orkin or whoever, but I don't really know what to expect as far as the cost. Are they worth the money, or is it just some dickhead that comes out and sets a few traps, then comes back once a month and charges $250 for every visit? Any recommendations would be appreciated!
  12. Well, I think it's cool that you can now buy a sporty version of just about any car. They never had a Camry "sport" 10 or 20 or 30 years ago. And now you have Camrys and Hyundais and soccer mom crossovers that are more powerful than many "fun" cars of the 90's. That's a great thing IMO. It's not lame unless you are talking about a Camry as a fun car, but one of these would be neat for a daily beater.

    2007 Cobalt

Man, that Cobalt is in MUCH better shape than mine. Good car for the money IMO
  14. Nice car, great review. Thanks for taking the time to post this. I enjoyed the read
  15. Jesus, you guys are getting some sweet deals. I tried to talk my wife into getting one but she doesn't like wagons apparently
  16. exactly what I was thinking I kind of like it though
  17. Yeah, it makes it a lot easier when you have the same group of guys year after year. Another thing that's cool about ESPN, during the fantasy playoffs you have the "consolation bracket" for all the non-playoff teams who are playing for draft order next year. Another reason to stay invested until the end no matter how bad your team is. Here's the team I drafted, I think I'm OK with it. Mahomes and Juju were my two keepers.....
  18. Congrats! That is awesome! And GREAT choice on the red interior. That is so much cooler than black or gray
  19. Yep, when the engine is off it goes right into gear without problem
  20. Quick update: When I told my brother about this problem, he said it could be the pilot bearing starting to fail. He also said something about checking the bellhousing for cracks? The problem came back a couple days ago, and yesterday I noticed it made a weird noise while in gear at low RPM when the clutch was still engaged. Only did it once, but not a good sign. At this point I think I'll just get a new clutch and pilot bearing, and whatever else it needs. I'm sure it's only going to get worse if I ignore it.
