Reason #1 why I love DSG. Also the fact that I can work where ever I want. However today I did go to the office as I hosted a lunch. I do agree that this tech is coming and will likely work well....eventually. In the mean time I would love it while on the highway if for nothing less than eating, blowing my nose or taking notes during a conference call

IMO I'd leave it for 93. Sounds to be perfect for a fast yet civil street car. Enjoy it for sure. Can't wait to see it.

Ironically I saw Jay Leno's Garage tonight.....didn't watch the who thing because he was down at Hennesey in TX to get a Yellow 5.0 boosted with a twin scroll supercharger that put out 700hp......for a mere $25,000. NO INTERNALS altered. I'm not sure if they did the exhaust. LOL at $25k.

Best looking one yet.

Wanted to thank you again for the great recommendation and help with selecting great products. To those even remotely interested in paint correction, Andy is a great source of information. I did very little serious correction work ever, outside knocking down scratches on the minivan. This year however, I really invested in a nice buffer and products that Andy recommended and found the process quite easy and safe to do. I put two days over the course of the first few weeks into the Audi and got it to about 95-98% perfect. Very few areas need touched up and the products are fantastic. Happy to pay-forward the insight and advice Andy gave. I consider having done it right as I spared no expense and in the end only spent about $400 total, all in from scratch. Ordered up a bunch of goodies from Blackfire including their BLACKFIRE BlackICE Hybrid Montan Sealant Wax and gotta say I love it. I also ordered their BLACKFIRE Wet Diamond Polymer Spray. Neither is cheap but man they are good. Slickest and most hydrophobic like properties in a product I've seen. Completed 2 coats today and will likely do 1-2 more in the coming weeks. Goes on really smooth and comes off flawlessly. No streaks or anything. Just crystal clear shine. I can tell I'm going to be addicted to the Polymer Spray. OUCH !! $$ but that's okay if turns out to be as good as today's impressions show. Not the best pics as they really don't do it the justice it deserves shine wise, but you get the point. http://i270.photobucket.com/albums/jj84/crms3er/P1010445_zps7bfzmwgr.jpg http://i270.photobucket.com/albums/jj84/crms3er/P1010432_zpsigblpoe7.jpg This last one is a closer shot of the crap on top of my cabinets as reflected in the hood. http://i270.photobucket.com/albums/jj84/crms3er/P1010441_zpssl1lago4.jpg

I kinda like it naked. No spoiler.

Just got back myself. Just her passport. Very little anxiety or stress felt crossing back over. I've seen them on much higher alert in the recent past is why I note this. My trips were crossing through Detroit.

^^^ This. So sorry Andy. Glad the wife is okay and the car did it's job.

In the end everyone has opinions, including him. IMO many cases his points are valid but perhaps the delivery or in some cases the messenger aren't approved of. No doubt people may choose not to agree with his points and that's okay. Even I don't in some cases and in some cases I may not agree with how he delivers the message. In the end though for me I usually reserve a ban request until I've met the person face to face. Been there done that thus my opinion still stands. Everyone's mileage will vary. I give him props for being a good guy in person. Still a lawyer from NY so if that rubs you then don't expect that to change. He's not bashful and will go to a meet. He's not rude just blunt and he holds true to his passions which include cars and bikes. Carry on.

^^ this. Seriously on the list of replacements for my wife. She likes the utility of an SUV / Van but prefers driving a car. Not quite as useful in size but the VW is a fun little car to scoot around in. Tuning it is easy and really wakes that shit up too.

^^ this. Add in some APR Goodies and it will hold it's own.

You really need to just flat out buy one and show up at C&C with it. You know you want to own one, just sell the two you have now and do it.

^^ the above is the point I referenced earlier about him fitting in better if he wasn't so new to the site. I think some of the blunt and harsh/challenging posts earlier on set the tone that many didn't like. if he was 2-3yrs into CR he'd fit right in.

Fair points of clarification for sure. I didn't mean that we are all in fact a dick behind a keyboard, but I do think many here including myself can be a bit more blunt more quickly. In Tilly's world I think it's called disinhibition. Sometimes however people do it purposefully. We see it here sometimes in an exaggerated fashion towards funny, crazy, sometimes asshole behaviors, but I don't equate that to lack of character. Just someone amplifying an online persona. No offense taken even if it was directed at me I do enjoy the face time more but online happens more often and is fun as hell too.

Seems like when I change mine depends on winter/mother nature. To your point, winter is tough on them it seems. I tend to get them right before winter and then in early spring or so. I just put new ones on both vehicles in fact. This time I completely stripped them with BarKeepers Friend and some alcohol and then applied Rain X on the Van and Aquapel on my car. Want to see how the two opposite formulations hold up vs each other. Rain X tends to fade faster from my past experience with both and tends to streak more quickly too. Time and weather will tell.

I don't think that what he's saying but I know he'll chime back in to clarify. What I would say is that NO you and Ant. don't have to moderate more, I think what's being asked for is we all begin to moderate and police ourselves so as to not alienate or fight or bully as much. Perhaps Gee's tollerance is lower or maybe he just has a different experience in the past driving his opinion. Don't know. Here I'd say people just generally can get away with more un-civil and rude/offensive comments to those that have been around longer or they know vs the new members. Again, if we police ourselves to not be so blunt on new people perhaps. Again, just tossing out an opinion. Agree.

I think Cordell's post was timely. I've been thinking for months that the activity here has fallen fairly flat. More so than in years past and much earlier in the year than I've seen before. I don't have the states but my guess is there's like 50 fairly active posters and maybe another 50 semi active. The rest....ghosts. That's cool, but thinking about all the folks I've turned onto CR and how many actually have either joined and left or just plain said no thanks based on what they've heard, I do think the post was timely. I love coming here but do hope more people join up and bring more new ideas to the table. I also think that many of the points posted are valid both in terms of positives and yes the negatives. All the latter are, are opportunities. I tend to look less at who said what than what is actually said. I don't think everyone does that. IMO I see more people looking at screen names and then reading the comments and forming an opinion. I hope that helps clarify my opinion.

I vote no. He's not entirely wrong. Agree with him or not and some or none of what he says that's fine but I've had the opportunity as many others have to compare an online persona to the real dude and he's as solid as Clay or others here just perhaps a bit more NY Blunt. He's an enthusiast with both bikes and cars, and a professional. Ironically I think he would fit right in if everyone got past the fact that the's newer to the group. An for the record, him and I have exchange some heated, yet fun banter both online and in person. We're all dicks at some point, especially behind a keyboard. The real mark of it all though is are we that way face to face. He's not the only one I've changed judgement on when we've finally met. The good news is more have gone to the better than the worse when that has happens and in my book that shows character for that individual.
-
Okay, I admit I LOL a little. Great and very Tolerant I might add. I have no idea how they hold it together with as much shit splattering as can be had here. Nut and tit swinging aside, they do run a pretty good ship compared to many. Perhaps it does need a bit of an update in some areas though.

I must say it finally happened, but shit just got real on page 4. My opinion is that there is a lot of truth posted on this page too. It's clear many don't want to recognize or face it and perhaps it's the messenger not the message. However, the truth is there regardless of who says it or even if it goes un-said. The mere fact that the post is in existence and onto page four pretty much proves that.
