  1. The reason is the money I had earmarked to buy the car and just pay it off is in a series of investments. My investments are doing great year over year. If I took $45k out of the bank to buy a car, I'd lose at minimum the $15,000-$24,000 in earnings it would bring over the next 5 years just leaving it alone and not even adding anything more to it. That's a minimum too. Decent investments are making more than the rate I used, I'm just hitting it low to show you. No thanks. I'd rather pay $2,500 in interest - about $40 per month (if I were to keep it 5yrs) to borrow the money on a depreciating asset and let the principle make the above for me. I actually will make more than the above because I took the money they gave me for the Mazda and put it into an investment vs paying the difference on the car. The reason being is again, my money is making more than the tax savings offered me thus it was better to pay a bit more in taxes today and earn more over time. Thus now my kitty-fund for the car has nearly $60k in it making me money. The key is being able to afford the car payment...check.....and bonus points for being able to write off part of it for business....check. Double bonus points for selling said Audi in 3-5yrs for a decent amount perhaps upgrading vs driving it into the ground. It's the principle Dave R. talks about really. My father showed me this principle back when first got out of college and I put it in motion. I drove a fucking $9k Grand Am for several years to get it started. Hated that fucking car, but to this day it was the best move I made. I didn't really "like" my MS3 either but it helped fulfill a fun-factor need I had and allowed us to put money into another investment we were working on for us.
  2. 5 Replies, one from a CTS-V & Jag owner with a BMW as a beater, another with the Batmobile done up with custom LED Lighting and another who succumb to peer pressure to buy a German Ride. We're all doomed. I'm with Clay. Lots of good stuff to gleam from it. Key is to upon every paycheck, to pay yourself first. I also stand by the fact that you should only live off one income in a dual income family and save/invest the entire allotment of the spouses income. I question the interest rate on the car loan though. I only financed this time because the rate was just a tick over 2%. It didn't make sense to pay cash for it.
  3. Jelly of that big ass garage. My wife would hate me as I'd buy more cars and live out there with them.
  4. Well done on that 4th down conversion! Gotta love when it delivers big points.
  5. ^^ oh yeah.....Ben is an AWD defector too. I blame him for global warming too. Thanks man. I hope so. Wheels with their offset should sit a little more flush thus looking a little nicer too.
  6. ^^ this. Not sure what size trailer or item you need to tow and how often? Make the wife drive a minivan as most can pull upwards of 3,500lbs without issue. Ask me what I did
  7. Picked up by Brian aka TrboRex. Lock it up!
  8. Of course and I blame Jones and Aaron who sold me for years on AWD Krautmobiles then they go buy RWD Shit. It won't likely snow for another 5yrs.
  9. Re-loaders, hobbyists, wood workers, etc., please come get these. I have about 40-45 of these storage bins in this box. Take them all. They are widely used in workshops and garages. They slide onto a mounting system or can be stacked or simply screwed into place. Very versitle. Sell for $4-6 each online. FREE! Just get this box of items out of my garage. Box will fit in a truck or van or simply remove them from the box and load them up. Text or calling is the easiest way to reach me. 10. Ok. If you don't take it, Vinny aka Nurk Vinny is going to.
  11. Thanks Ryan and in folllow up to our phone call, I'll update the post and remove the white one as it's sold to you. See you next Saturday.
  12. Wife is looking to redo some areas of the home thus I'm selling a loft bed we bought back in 2012. Dark Mocha with metal framing and in great condition. 9/10. The desk is on wheels and can retract under the bed for when not in use if so desired. Coffee/Mocha Brown: Paid $500+ asking $200 http://i270.photobucket.com/albums/jj84/crms3er/Brown%20Bed_zps3t6raxst.jpg I put rope-lights under the bed when we first got it and my son would play under there and called it his reading area. He even moved a couple lanterns under it. My son is now older and won't do that any more but now it works great for storage for toys and what not. It's a twin mattress in size but mattress is not included. I have the manuals/instructions for building, etc. and will disassemble it as they will need to come apart to remove from the room. I'll leave as much assembled as I can. Best to have a pickup or a van to move It. Contact me for details or with questions. I will disassemble it upon purchase and will need about 1 day to do so. I can and will help deliver what I can if you're within 15 minutes of Dublin. Tim 614-795-4907 cell
  13. Flipper switch in the dash is stuck? Is it an auto climate system? My Ford was an auto system and you could actually see the actuator and mechanism under the dash on the driver side. Had a bad motor on the Auto Climate Control for it to change modes.
  14. Thanks in advance to Derek aka TurboRust for helping me yet again, put together a nice summer/winter combo at a more than fair price. I suspect mother nature may rush in cold weather quickly this year so it's best to be prepared by having them mounted and in my garage ready to go. According to Derek they should be able to install and get everything set to go late next week. Winter Mode: The top image shows Audi's Stock 19" "Peelers" which will be wrapped in Blizzak LM-32's waiting for mother nature to deliver. Summer Mode: The bottom image shows what it will look like (photoshop at work here) with the Niche M131's with a Machined Silver finish wrapped in the OEM Summer only Conti's that came with the car. Not my favorite summer tire, but basically new so they will do for now. http://i270.photobucket.com/albums/jj84/crms3er/Before%20-%20After_zpsk5lsou2l.jpg Looking forward to a couple months with the new wheels at least. Next spring she'll receive a set of H&R O.E. Springs to provide a mild drop.
  15. I don't know much about car-play, etc. but I think that's essentially what it's about. I love all the MMI crap in my car but really, most of it's duplication. I just want a nice size screen that is a mirror of my phone. Best of all worlds as costs to implement are minimal, no additional upgrades or programming needed, no separate / different system, etc. Why re-invent the wheel?
  16. Thanks for pointing me to this! I bought it after seeing it at C&C and it is one of the only ones I've seen/heard that actually works. Wife is using it in her van and is quite happy.
  17. The interior and controls are down right horrible. The CUE system and the physical controls are really that bad. The entire rest of the car IMO is great but using the controls and looking at that dash on a daily basis would sicken me.
  18. Car porn that IMO so good I think I actually got wood and feel a bit like it needs a NWS icon next to it. I'd embed the video but I keep getting error upon playback. I fail but it works.
  19. and there will an iPhone app to create your own exhaust note and fart/burbles.....

    VAG-COM

PM Trey Lathem aka IVRings or hit up Aaron. He mentioned to me at C&C that he has a VAG-Com he's be willing to sell.
  21. Side note: The SPEED of Trust is a great book. The culture of our entire company is focused around the principles in the book. Great read.
  22. That vid would last about 30 seconds.....
  23. Cool. I'll be in town next week with a few days at my Easton Office. We can meet up anywhere though.
  24. Key for the above is showing your transferrable skills and documenation of success in the past and measurable achievements. Apply both to the new role in order to show you can accomplish what it is they are looking for from this new role. ie. been there done that, here's the results, what I did and how based on what you're looking for with what I know as of today as a candidate how you would meet their needs. Even if you're not 100% spot-on as you are still learning the role and they of your capabilities, that on-the-spot creative solution sale during the interview will play in your favor. Great. It's a "farmer" role. Strong relationships play into this as does building trust. Show how you have both and brought it to fruition before. Time management and planning and creative thinking will play into the travel piece. Again, always show past successes but don't forget to apply them to the current need. They need to be able to actually "see you" in the role being successful. Ask questions about what they are looking for and what success looks like. Say 90-120 to full year down the road. What attributes do they see being key to a successful person in this role. What are the biggest challenges others in this role face and how have they overcome them., etc. 2 ears, one mouth. Listen and ask questions. Good sales people listen, repeat back what they've heard and clarify, clarify, clarify. You should only be doing about 20% of the talking and mostly at the end of the meeting to do what I stayed above. As noted above, SHOW your past successes through interesting but brief stories/examples. Key is brief. Stories are memorable, fun and should hit home. APPLY them to the role you're after. Goal is to get the interviewer to PICTURE you in the role being successful. I stand by our lunch conversation Brian. Gut tells me it wasn't location. Something else was there and I'm not picking on you or what you bring. There was an objection not overcome somewhere. THe location wasn't far away and you told me you'd have moved for it. I can talk with you about this again to cover it if you wish. I just hired a rep from out of the territory and that's okay. Distance a the cost to relocate, whether I pay it or the candidate will keep someone from hiring the right person. They wouldn't have interviewed you if it was. Cool. Happy to role-play if you wish. Good luck man!
