I thought someone here posted a link to a product / process that they really like and I'll be damned if I remember responding but can't find it. Detailers: What's the best stuff for black? Now that I own two black Beasts I will need to invest. Thanks.

give a couple years. they have them available early on while most will be special order cars. once they are more mainstream like the CTS-V, they will likely phase it out since not many will be ordered with the manual.

Keeping it real: It's CR. Relax. Everyone here has a "thing." Own yours. You're a lawyer right? So is my wife. No one is more argumentative then lawyers. Relax and enjoy the ride. Welcome to CR.

Looks great! Confirms that I like those tail lights best. Heard a nice sounding one this morning. Love the rumble of the LS with a good exhaust.

Okay to use Blue Masking tape when transporting car?

Looks like a giant condom. -
No one really does. I don't know what todays stats are but I remember even back in the late 80's and early 90's mainly ecomony budget cars and high end cars were all that sold in manuals. Then transmissions got faster, better, people got lazy and the good economy kicked in and they fell even faster.

The line buffs out. In terms of fading, the only really dark (black) car I had was the Trailblazer. No fading on that after 3yrs. If it does, then it will serve as a great template for the replacement bra -

He's awesome for sure. Won't need the CF vinyl as this one has the CF Inlays as an option from Audi and they look great. I can't wait to see what he can do with the van. I did it twice last year and normally keep it up well. Looks great for being 8yrs old. He will no doubt make it look like new. -

Nope. They hand wash and paint correct/detail in the building next door. Where the car is in this photo is part of the old building. It's a downtown dealership with limited space. I should have taken a photo of their showroom. It was like a parking lot of cars all lined up. Pretty cool how they make use of the spaces. -

it's not about the sharp/large rock, it's about the sand and grit that blasts the car. I disagree. I've had nearly all of my cars done with them and they were perfect. I remove them before selling them. Our two previous minivans, my Accord, and Trailblazer, which was black, came out flawless. IMO you probably have only seen the cheap stuff at work. -

Julius is coming out to Clear bra the car on Monday FYI, he also does detailing and paint correction. I didn't know that, so he's going to do my wife's black minivan later this month. Yes, it's my daily. However, it's 99.9% perfect right now and I want her to stay that way until Monday when the clear bra gets put on. I've had them on all but a couple cars. They keep the front end nearly perfect. I'm with you about driving them everywhere. I don't fuss too much anymore.....I think maturity does kick in. That and the impact of kids. However, I will keep this one pretty nice for a while. Here's the sales guy doing the masking http://i270.photobucket.com/albums/jj84/crms3er/IMG_3914_zpsjhxozk6v.jpg http://i270.photobucket.com/albums/jj84/crms3er/IMG_3915_zpswjeaaalj.jpg -

Yes, the car was just perfectly detailed. I was impressed. Do you see any issues because it's a black car and the paint getting hot? I wouldn't think so but.... -
So my S4 is ready and they are in process of prepping it to come down the 6hr drive. They were not able to get a clear bra installer to complete the job this week and are giving me the money off the deal which is fine. That said, I want to make sure that the car doesnt get any chips or road rash, etc. on the trip down. The dealer is open to prepping the painted metal surfaces only with Blue Masking tape prior to their driver leaving. With the car being black, will using the tape for a 6hr drive hurt anything or will it remove pretty easily? What impact will rain have if any? I know a lot of you guys use it for autocross. Thoughts?

Thanks! I'm happy. I hope you now know why I had to wait for the co. car program changes. All was more than worth it Dealer called me as did APR. The DSG Tune will be flashed over and all will be right in the world again later today. Now just waiting for that confirmation and the clear bra to be finished so it can be delivered. -

Accountability. 95% of my issue. I made 10 friends today that were in my class. I never sweat and hurt so much stretching and getting my hips and legs mobile like we started with. Pain never felt so good either Keep us posted on your progress.

Great job man! My "boot camp" starts tommorrow. I'm already getting a late to bed start but I'm on board with diet and food. For weeks I've tried and lost about 8lbs but my goal in the next 6 weeks is 15. That's not a lot but hey, I'm only 190lbs today and most of my issue is snacking and no exercise. I committed to a 5 month deal semi-private training and paid up front so now I have to go. It offers me 6 sessions per week which I'm doing every one of them. Trainer seems to think I'll do quite well given mine is pretty much just around the waist and snack/sugar driven. I know I can do this and hope to lose even more. Honestly, if I can get back to 175lbs that puts me at my 2006 weight. I get 9 years back! From there if I can get to 160-165lbs I'll get back to circa 1997 weight. No doubt I'll pack on some strength and muscle over the next few months helping create my old lean self. Need me to fit my ass back in 32-34" pants and I'll feel like I accomplished a lot. Slimpsy, You and Thorne have been my CR inspiration to finally do something. Honestly though, my wife is 47 and I'm 45 and she's the same build and weight as when we got married and I can't let her continue to be stuck with an outta-shape me. I'm going for it now! Continued thanks and good luck on your journey!

I'm torn again. Likely going to stay with the stock peelers as the car I landed on has like new rubber on them. I've switched to thinking I'll mount the Niche's with winter rubber. Will be nice to have some sexy wheels in the winter too Here's the car: http://i270.photobucket.com/albums/jj84/crms3er/20150703_165127_zps5gw6dcx0.jpg

I missed your quote yesterday :lolguy: BTW, I saw you and Tina the other day off Sawmill as I came out of Bob Evans. You were turning right into the shopping center from Sawmill. She looked great in the Orange Beast. Very clean car. -

Very true. Really as much as I love a stick, todays DSG's, especially this one, are way way more enjoyable. This is truely the first one that I've driven that knows in Dynamic mode exactly what I'm looking to do. Besides, the manual mode is awesome and controlled by either paddles or the shifter- which I prefer. No way even the best driver will outshift this thing. Thus for a daily, I just couldn't go stick. Especially not given this cars capabilities off the light. Smash and go is pretty much what you can do. I thought of all of you as I took 70 across Indy and saw many of their locals assembling along the freeway for a cruise. I passed through at 9am and rode with them for about 2 miles Played with a nice Evo who had his autocross tape on. Was fun. As a side note, yesterday the roads were packed with troopers and today....even more. Ohio BY FAR had 5x more than Indy or IL. Indy however does use unmarked cars so there's a likelihood I didn't even see them! Saw several Marion County Sheriffs though. I made it home clean though.....mainly at 77 in a 70. In northern IN and entering IL where the speed limit is 55, I was amazed at how people blow by cops clearly shooting radar at 70-75mh and NO ONE was stopped. I drive that route a lot and know they tollorate a lot given it really shouldn't be 55mph but today....I was surprised. Thanks. I gotta admit after seeing the car in person I do love the peelers for summer now. Especially since the rubber on them is summer only and 9/10 in quality tread. I will still likely go with the ones I picked out in my other thread, but I'm going to put a set of winter rubber on them. -

Yes/No. Yes in a sense that it's here and I factored it into the deal. No in a sense that I still haven't signed any paperwork on the deal If you're interested, let me know. I don't have to have it a part of the deal. We negotiated two separate transactions FWIW, here's the car: http://i270.photobucket.com/albums/jj84/crms3er/20150703_165127_zps5gw6dcx0.jpg -

What sucks is driving 12hrs in 24hrs in the MS3 when I was dead set on coming home with an S4. In regards to the blue vs black, it turns out the blue one with 12k miles looked in person lie it had 36k miles. No thanks. I walked. The black one has the selectable suspension option, only 8k miles and looks like a brand new car. Not a swirl or chip anywhere. It was on the showroom floor and I really can't believe it was ever driven. Even underneath is spotless. Great detail job for sure. The shoukd be delivering it this week and hey, I got a free clear bra out of it.
