  1. Hey all. Here at the house, I love my Big Green Egg but we're looking to buy a nice smoker for the farm as we'll be spending more time out there this year. Given the use I'm not going to spend what we did for another BGE, but rather something else. From what I've read and seen the Webber Smokey Mountain series is the best. Any thoughts on other makes/models? Not opposed to propane, but have had such great luck with lump charcoal that I'm going to stay that route unless there are compelling reasons. Feel free to chime in with tips and tricks too. Always interested in recommendations.
  2. Nice! Needs more pics though
  3. Nice job Wags! Looks like a great turnout and fun event. Lots of nice rides for sure.
  4. Won't last more than a few months if that. Even if they would put it in a vacuum chamber, ensuring a proper bond between the technologies like we do with lenses, it wouldn't last through the wear of normal life.
  5. Thanks Joe! See you on the 4th.
  6. Welcome man. Love the cars, especially the color of the wife's. Same as my Fusion.
  7. Brings back memories as I remember when they first hit the street. I feel old now. Clean as heck. Nice pickup.
  8. Translation....tell them you were playing around by yourself on a country road.
  9. Do they void the warranty for simply using it? Because if the specify racing only then how are they going to prove where I used it. I also don't think they will legally be able to void the entire warranty. Only the parts that such abuse impacts. No different than trying to say using the wrong oil impacts the warranty on the rest of your car.
  10. Thanks for the phone call this morning. 99% done deal on the AR. Looking forward to checking it out in person. Interested in learning on this one.
  11. WOuld like to talk with you about this when I come pick up the entertainment stand.
  12. They might have a difficult time enforcing such a rule in court. The burden of proof would be on them that the owner was actually racing and racing that exact car. Not sure they would want to engage in such a law suite. Me smells settlement at some point.
  13. Will take the stand if it will Hold a 42" Plasma TV. Text me the details. I can pick it up tonight with Cash in hand. Tim (614) 795-4907
  14. Thanks everyone. Today is going to be a rough day. I didn't sleep much either and haven't for a few weeks. What's even more difficult is tending to the estate and even going through pictures. The good news is we did have a great year. I was with him every hour of the nearly two weeks in the hospital including the entire last day. We enjoyed every father/son conversation; even through some very private confessional moments together. We laughed, cried and of course reminisced over all the stories that will live on forever. Of course I wasn't prepared to lose him, but he flat out told me I was all grown up now and it was time. It was a good death in that we litterally said our goodbyes and it was of his choosing to pull his oxygen mask off. He passed with dignity, respect and honor. I can only hope to face it with such courage. Thankfully it was relatively painless and swift. Once the mask was off he told me to leave and go to the hall. It was difficult but I did. Hats off to every single nurse at Riverside too. I've been there more nights than I care to admit and in their Critical Care Unit, they employ some of the strongest and most special people I've ever met. Truly heroic. The last nurse who I met and knew all of only a few minutes held him from the moment he removed the mask and treated him as if he was her father. She cried and held him tight. I have no idea how she musters the strength to do her job. Hats off to them all.
  15. Given your faith I'm sure you can appreciate the prayer we picked out together. Timothy 4:7 Truncated it reads: " I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith. "
  16. Thanks. I'm loaded up with RAM so good there. I also just added 16TB more of RAID storage on top of the 6TB inside my PC. Should be good for a while on storage of Vids and Pics. I'm good with the price of the Pro. Not going to cut corners anywhere.
  17. Only a handful of folks here know, but the past 10 months have been the most challenging yet rewarding of my life. Last May I took over caring for my father who was quite ill as battled heart failure and COPD. He was also a victim of sever Elder Abuse at the hands of two individuals from my very own family that shall remain forever out of my life. At age 82 he has outlived his father and enjoyed many good years including some very fun times under the hood of a car and behind the wheel racing in his day. He even put on over 70k miles on my old '99 GTP that he upgraded with headers and an intercooler. Yeah....he was a car guy. My father was a rock; strong, fearless and a true leader at work, at home and during his time serving in Korea. His sense of integrity was just as strong and his loyalty never wavered. It has been several weeks since his death in the early hours a few Fridays ago on April 4th as he lay in my arms while we literally shared all we could during those final hours. Wednesday/tomorrow would have been his 83rd birthday and one that we still intend to celebrate in his honor. Dad I'm so very sad to see you gone from my life but I'm glad that you are no longer in pain. I don't really know what to gain by posting it here on CR, but it's taken weeks for me to even be able to type out what I have. To all those with parents still alive, if you're close to them in any way, call them or hug them tomorrow and every chance you get. 19. I'm finally upgrading my main drive on my Photo PC to an SSD. Looking for a 250-500gb capacity. What are your thoughts on speed and mainly reliability with the following? Any others I should consider? Samsung EVO or Pro Series Intel OCZ Vector or Vertex drives Insight appreciated.
  20. CR is such a great place and this thread is proof. Came here not knowing for sure if I'd find a musical instrument for my son and within hours if not minutes I got a PM and today sealed the deal. As someone here said.....poor nieghbors....and me!
  21. good times! you took the jump like a pro. Camera was steady, you had a blast, etc. if it was me, the camera would have been all over the place and I'm sure I'd have had to change my pants when done
  22. Welcome man. CR is a good place and Cars and Coffee on Saturday Mornings will acclimate you well to a good portion of the group that's active. It will also introcue you to a number of folks from other groups as it's grown over the years to include a great mix. It will certainly give you an urge for a new ride though, so consider yourself warned
