  1. NBC nightly news staff in columbus today. Story said we have over 333 ads per day being run on TV.
  2. Again, first part referencing the country as a whole, next part about our family.
  3. Like your post I was referencing my personal situation which is fine and doing great...but as a whole families in this country are not because blah, blah, blah.....
  4. refocused us on OBL and getting him. Done. concentrated on getting us out of the Middle East. expressed an interest and intent to reform healthcare. Done. Not a good plan but nonetheless made Healthcare a priority
  5. He can't effectively come to the table with the exact details because of the list of say 100 loopholes, it will take his leading the legislation and negotiations on both sides to determine which loopholes and by how much will be cut to match up with the framework. All of which will go through his filter system which includes does it add to the national debt. Does that make sense? I'll be happy to give a concrete example via PM to save Evan some pains of reading. He's not living the same life that's for sure, but we each have our own opinion on whether he's in touch. It's also true that either candidate can't focus solely on the best interest of the little guy. We have $17T in debt that has been allowed to accumulate and has to be paid for. Just the same as your statement, it's not fair to make only those above $250k /yr pay for it either. You're kidding yourself if you think Obama's is going to shield you from paying for any of it or any of what he has coming. You're taking it litterally. He's stating that the plan is to shore up the economy through fiscal responsibility so in turn jobs will be created by the private sector and yes likely to some extent in the public sector. He's not saying that the Fed is gong to "create" jobs. We know that's not what the fed does. He's a businessman, no business is run strictly on black and white. That just screams for gridlock. His stances when running the state of MA won't all apply to his role as President. I don't manage my sales team and the business I manage the same here as I did in my previous role either. In areas where he has moved more towards the center on issues, that's not a bad thing. Some will say that's shifty others will say he's reasonable and willing to soften up a bit on his stance. It's politics, niether guy can stand firm or shift without being wrong. Lose/lose in the eyes of the masses and spin.
  6. There needs to be a complete cleansing of Washington leaders. Term limits are a start and while we have due process I think a complete public stand up to Washington is needed. Such a decision should't be the decision of those same leaders. This should be a popular vote by the people. Eviction from Washington is needed.
  7. We live a great life too but it's very clear that the current administration has failed and I won't condone Obama's deluded sense of leadership. Dude is a failure. Call that negative but it's true. In the end you're reading too much into things I post. My kids and I are extremely grateful and blessed too but I want them to understand that lowering the bar as is being condoned and pushed for is not the answer. "at least" we're not those that are less fortunate isn't what I share with them. Things could always be worse but I prefer to focus on how to make them better not look at the rest of the world and pretend the fact that we're being screwed and they are being burdened with debt is still okay because "at least" we have what we do. I don't support the "at leaster" mentality I don't live in doom and gloom. Our family is fine and will be fine regardless, but I don't want to instill in my kids that we can spend our way out of a mess and tax those that are prosperous to continue doing so. My bubble of creation is what I am making it not what he is going to make of it and again, we're just fine. In the end, we could be a lot better off without Obama trying to share my stuff with others. Fuck him and his socialist views and spending of money until China and our own gov't can't print any more.
  8. Nope, I believe its true. I'm just still waiting for anything during Obama's term to help contribute back to tangible results for consumer so that we can actually tell our kids we're living the good-life and that they too will have a bright future. Last I checked we're all paying shit ton more for gas and other goods including healthcare. But hey, more people have food stamps, unemployment checks and free time than before he took office. Hey with our GDP and economy doing so shitty I suppose the upside is business will continue to not need as much energy. I mean they don't keep lights on in empty offices do they?
  9. Agree. A true leader is charged with providing visions and have the ability to influence others to do more than they would do on their own. Leaders influence thoughts, emotions and actions of those working for them and with them. They do this through credibility, trust and respect. Trust and respect are earned through behaviors and I believe Romney has done that far more than Obama. Like his personal or religious background or not, Romney has done a lot of good things for people, acknowledging their contributions and treating them with respect and has barely ever mentioned or leveraged that part of his life to win this campaign. Nice to see a man exhibit some humility for a change. Obama has hid the GM Debacle and hit the nation is taking in the stock we all still own and tried desperately to cover up the recent Libya attack. He also continues to over promise and under deliver. The last four years are solid failure. His track record sucks and he has very little in the way of business experience. He's not good at bipartisan negotiations and this country is more divided now than ever before. It's his job to fix that and he hasn't/can't. He's also so hell bent on talking more about Romney than himself in this entire election that it's very apparent that he hates taking responsibility or facing reality. I'm sorry but IMO Romney while not perfect stands a far better shot at getting legislature to agree through negotiations as that's what he did his entire career. Compare that with Obama who likes things his way or else...and then blames the others for not agreeing with his way if things don't work out the way he wants. Pussy behavior. It's time to man-up Obama and step aside as you have failed at getting the job done. Period. If he worked at ANY company of any substance and presented the results he has as POTUS he'd have been written up and fired long ago. No need to discuss Romney just look inside at what you have't been able to do. Time to put aside your arrogance that has no merit in terms of concrete results. Obama is a legend in his own mind and being the first black president is about all he will contribute to the history books.
  10. yep....I was glad to see the third party folks understand this. this is also reason 1,234 why we are being so conservative in life here because the wife and I don't expect it will be easy for our kids to have those loans so readily available to them in 10 years. we've resolved ourselves that our properties and rentals are their future education dollars.
  11. in terms of education we need major reform no doubt. I have no doubt under either you're going to have access to loans and grants. the difference is under Obama, the plan isn't solvent and he's borrowing money to continue funding his expanding grants. it's also contributing to the higher cost of education. I mean, why would the schools lower costs or worry about competition when there's a president that is just continually insuring money is there for them to take? They won't. Romney pledged to keep grants available but sure, there will be ceilings and changes but those are required to help reign in costs and not add to our debt. So what does that mean for you...go get your Obama funded education as you'll need it in years to come to pay back the money that isn't free. Don't forget to buy a GM car after graduation either. You still own 27% of GM and Obama just told GM he's not interested in selling our stock yet either even though they are telling him it's hurting their business. Doesn't surprise me as he doesn't want to take billions in losses right before the election any more than he wanted to admit the truth about the terrorist attack in Libya. In terms of Obamacare, I won't even begin to go into how negatively impactful this is going to be on the nation as a whole. Will it benefit some, sure, and there are a few good points in it. Overall though, I stand by the fact that the vast majority of CR will be on Gov't run insurance plans being served by far less qualified and skilled doctors in far fewer numbers. But hey, we need to lower the bar so everyone will have coverage. None of which is free, so yes, you're education and earnings in the future will be used to pay for that too. Perhaps someday we'll pay the same tax rates as our neighbors up north. Thanks for sharing your decision. The beauty of America is you have that oportunity and your vote counts the same as Obama's and Romney's on Nov 6th.
  12. not true. voting for a 3rd party in the Presidential election come last minute like this has never been even close to coming to a reality. It's a waste. If you want to affect a change from a two party system it's not going to happen due to write in's last minute. heck, even with Obama sucking ass as bad as he has for so many years in terms of helpful accomplishments and contributions to our country and it's people he's still carrying far more of a % than even remotely intelligent. Fucking amazing. That said, no way a write in will garner more than single digits. as noted earlier, vote for one of these two and if you don't like either, stay home and save your gas money.
  13. research it on your own. opinions are all just that and news is all biased. list your top 3-5 areas of interest and look at past facts and future plans from both and determine for yourself.
  14. I would say he's very likely referencing Iran using their military basis in Syria to access the Mediterranean Sea to get to Israel and their trading ports.
  15. You really need to read up on him a bit, where he grew up and how he achieved what he has earned. Just saying.
  16. will complaining make a difference? rhetorical question. it's political positioning. to the republicans the differences and arguments are beat to death. it's quite clear that they don't agree on many things. no need to waste another night showing that. Obama tried hard to fire up Mitt but it didn't work. Obama really could have used something like that but didn't get it. Mitt just needed to hang and not lose it. Mission accomlished. last night was about showing where they do agree. last night was about letting America see that yes Romney is capable of staying calm, not attacking personally yet showing clearly where he feels Obama has failed, while also showing where similarities and agreements on decisions exist. this election isn't going to be won or lost over foreign policy and they both know it thus why Romney kept going OT and Obama sat there with a pissed off, just finish it up already look when he did so because he too knows his record sucks. No one needs to tell Obama his record sucks anymore. He knows it and has for a long while. I generally think the public knows it too.
  17. why? a vote like that just puts Obama back in office and is like pissing in the wind. make a statement of beliefs in a blog but don't piss away a vote. he's a smug arrogant smart ass that makes people laugh and can talk a good game. perhaps if he gets put in office for a second term he'll actually accomplish something that doesn't cost our kids and their kids billions and in the mean time helps out those of use who have some time left on earth. someone needs to lean over and tell our President it's time to get shit done. Something more than a few laughs, sound bites and attacks on the other guy to shield himself from a true lack of accomplishments. I wish I could have chuckled at Romney telling Obama that attacks on him aren't an agenda. Problem is they aren't results or an agenda and a clear lack of both isn't funny.
  18. and Obama has Hillary has his Secretary of State who is official responsible for foreign policy and she too supported the war in Iraq. The same Hillary that stood by the position that the recent Libya killing was a spontaneous reaction to a YouTube Video. Love her work in Hati. Perhaps now we can work on America?
  19. Both sides can debate study after study and justify it their way all they want. In the end Romney committed that his plan is based on not adding to the debt and I hold him to that and see no reason to believe he will deviate from that commitment. Obama on the other hand has proven the opposite in that he will spend until China runs out of money to give and will rack up debt until he can't add any more. His solution in turn involves more taxes. No thanks. Because Romney isn't Bush and his plan is not the same. Bush spent money and added to the debt like Obama just the same so no, I don't see them as the same thus why I feel the RR plan is more solid. We can debate the above all day long. Obama has no experience as a CEO, had no experience as a president of anything and his results are in line with both. Anyone surprised that the last four years sucked ass is blind to have not seen it coming. Call it a gamble either way, but I'll put my money on someone with more experience and focus on the areas that our nation needs vs someone with a losing track record and still no business skills and continues to focus on lowering the bar and spending and taxing.
  20. and thus the point why Romney can't give the exact details because as Obama found out, those details have way too many variables and unless you have a leader that can coordinate and lead negotiations those details will change. I will say increase taxes isn't the answer though. that's a whole other point but the dems and Obama's mentality. Why shore up spending and budgets when you can continue to tax. No thanks. How about he focus on fiscal responsibility vs taxing more. I'm not party centric. I look at the candidate and their record and methodology more than party. Bush wasn't effective in his last four years either and IMO really was clearly didn't care. Sad really. He needed to go as bad as Obama. Again, I don't look at party. Clinton IMO was useless and began the debacle with his NAFTA push and the whole boon to give everyone the American Dream to own a home. Mistake and a bust that will live for decades. Thanks Bill. can't answer it for you. for me, he has a sense of business acumen that Obama doesn't. He has a track record of delivering success, he's proven to be able to work with the dems and generally succeed. I also HATE the ideas of Obamacare and having worked in the medical arena and now in both medical and insurance arenas I know what it's going to do to our system and it's not good. I lived in Canada and know this type of system too. Another no thanks. anyway, dead horse beat. sorry to go on.
  21. True. The problem I have in your last statement is we've taken a very long and painful road to dumb down America and I have little faith in the public at large. The mere fact that we have what we have today through not just Obama but focused on his lack of results and yet nearly 50% of the people think he's the right guy is amazing. Again, if his performance happened at my company, I'd have a very hard time not firing him let alone putting him in for four more years. Results count and he's not delivered. In the end you and I can regroup on the matter in four years regardless of who gets in. I knew the moment he was elected that the following four years would suck ass thus I'm not surprised and inside my family, we more than prepared for it. I also firmly believe if Obama is back in office for another four years it will get much worse. I just hope what we are doing is enough to prepare us for what's coming if that's the case.
  22. I disagree. IMO they both know the reality of the situation for any average Joe. They don't have to have lived it to know it. The key here is the average Joe family isn't their only concern nor can it be. Pell grants will still be available and of course means to fund education are something both are going to work on. The difference is Obama's methodology is to borrow and spend and his funding programs are clearly adding to the debt whereas Romney is clear that's not the solution. In the end, neither is going to please everyone and the debt we have isn't going away thus we are going to pay for it. The difference is Romney is more financially minded and doesn't believe in Big Gov't nor does he feel Gov't can manage our business. He's right too. We don't need Federally run anything more. Push it to the states to manage.
