  1. Out with the family to a movie and lunch with friends, then to their house on the water at Alum to walk around and get some fall photos. Didn't bring any big glass with me so I had to crop but it's first time I've seen and captured a bald eagle in Ohio. Canon EOS 40D Canon EF 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6L IS USM Lens http://i541.photobucket.com/albums/gg378/pdqgp/Eagle1.jpg http://i541.photobucket.com/albums/gg378/pdqgp/eagle2.jpg After that the rest of the day was just meh http://i541.photobucket.com/albums/gg378/pdqgp/leaf.jpg http://i541.photobucket.com/albums/gg378/pdqgp/fall3-1.jpg http://i541.photobucket.com/albums/gg378/pdqgp/fall1-1.jpg http://i541.photobucket.com/albums/gg378/pdqgp/IMG_0725editedcopy_web.jpg
  2. Glad you tried it. I know when I first heard about it I was like but then once I tried them I was like :fuckyeah: We're off to carve more tonight. I think I ate 95% of what we made last week in just a couple days.

    Well done

As a family our 6 & 9 year included just got through practicing our fire safety plan after seeing the story on the news about ineffective smoke detectors. We also do the gun / intruder drills. Probably more so than even fire as IMO the likelihood is far greater that we would encounter crime than a fire. I've not yet reached the stage with my son only being 9 that I would advise him to handle a gun without me there though. I was 12 when my father taught me thus I'm thinking 12-13 is time. Good for the mom too. I can't imagine getting a call like that at work.

    Well done

Reason 1,234 to teach gun safety to kids. Nice job on her part to call 911 and defend herself. My only concern would be shooting without knowing could kill a parent or cop. I know both should identify as they enter but still. Glad the bad guy got shot.
  5. That's a D800 and a nice 70-200 f/2.8 Stabilized lens and more right there. Looks fun though.
  6. Malwarebytes and Microsoft Security Essentials. Zero issues with them.

    Inquiring minds want to know...
  8. The Anderson's General Store also has a slew of AEP Subsidized bulbs. Just keep an eye on the color temp. to insure you don't get the cheap hotel yellow looking 2700k ones.
  9. There's irony in the cheap-ass part of that statement. In reality nothing is happening to the owner, it's something the owner is bringing upon themselves. In answer to the OP, I doubt they take pics but your car is likely on camera somewhere if someone were to really want to push the issue. That won't happen. Court costs alone will likely be over $100 so in the end it's likely better for you to just pay the fine. Your call.
  10. Judge: "Son if you can afford the car but can't afford the front plate ticket then you can't honestly afford the car."
  11. I'm not saying I don't see the point but IMO, it doesn't ruin the appearance. Again, supermodels look better naked but having an ugly shirt doesn't change the reality of what they are. Just put a tinted plate cover on it to tone it down. I've used them since I started driving and put over 30k miles yr on my cars for work across a number of states and have yet to have a tinted cover even cause me a conversation regardless of the law. IMO What looks 10x worse is when people use the tow hook thing...:dumb: Usually on a goofy angle or location.
  12. No offense, I like the car, but it's just a Vette. If it was something truly exotic perhaps.
  13. ^^ it's still just a fucking car. no one walks by and says it's fugly because it has a plate on the front. but I guess this is CR where if a super model is wearing an ugly shirt, most here would just scoff and not tap it. agree.
  14. IMO just put a front plate on it. It's just a car not a priceless work of art.

    FS: '03 EVO

    That was easy! congrats
  16. I have a similar one. My son bought it at a garage sale un opened don't touch that fucker with a wet hand. It will startle you more than you might think. Ask me how I know :fuuuu:
  17. Have him connect up with Sue. She's a friend of mine and is very well connected. Specializes in software programers. http://www.linkedin.com/in/suejohnson1 I dropped her note with the info you provided to see what she might be able to do.
  18. http://www.1000bulbs.com/ Great site with good selection. In a living area I wouldn't go over 3,100k or so. 3,500k is where the cut off becomes a bit too white for my tastes. I have gone 3,500 in the laundry room and kitchen area where we cook. The seating area no, 3100 otherwise you'll feel like you're in a waiting room at the hospital.

    Taxes.

I agree that life in general is going to follow the supply / demand theory but disagree that tax breaks will result in only more profitable widgets. Our company is doing quite well and we're adding new equipment left and right because of it. Sure, some companies will seek that profitability goal but many will reinvest it in some way. I'll say this too, I know many business owners that in the end have a huge nut on the line and will not allow the gov't to hit them harder in their wallet without adjusting. I remember when a local company I was for quite some time at let go 20 people of the 250 we had, which was the first instance of such cuts. I know the owner as a friend and have it straight from him that he hated to do it, but in the end changes within the economic climate forced him to do that. It was do-able and within his means and he isn't ashamed to say he's looking out for his interests first. I would do the same thing if needed. Fair enough. As noted above yes/no. I will say if you hurt a company, they will do what it takes to take back that loss. To think otherwise, especially today, isn't a wise bet. My company provides every employee a 10% bonus based on their W2 earnings if we achieve plan. We've not missed this goal for quite some time. If we're impacted by taxes, etc. and they will take that loss back as noted above, it will hurt employees. If not or if we can't hit those goals, you will once again hurt every employee by a significant amount. I managed the manufacturing division of our company and hire a lot of people as we grow, but if we're not in a position to hit our goals for any reason, we will not. Most every company would much rather scale back on production and be more profitable. I can say for sure I run our location based on profitability. I don't want to be the biggest, I want to be the most profitable. Not always, but I will say if I take thousands $$ from your bottom line and you have means to get it back by adjusting how you do business, you will. You won't allow all your hard work and efforts to take a hit at the bottom line if you can control correcting it. Most people really believe they are going to be rich. Most people here probably believe it too. Some may even vote based on their perceived future self vs. where they are now. However, there is a normal distribution of the typical factors associated with wealth (i.e. motivation, delayed gratification, etc). This normal distribution curve looks something like this: Your argument that people can just "choose" to be wealthy is a misnomer akin to me choosing to have blue eyes. I don't make an argument that ALL people can 'choose'. I already was clear that not everyone will achieve those goals but we shouldn't lower the bar. Not every kid playing soccer gets a trophy. Then you better not vote for Obama because what's he has done so far and looking to do is killing off the middle class and lowering the bar. I disagree.
  20. ^^ gotta love the photog in that shot "chimping" his pics while the money shots go right by him. I suppose it could be a video camera but it appears he's proofing in the field.
  21. At least you drive something that will lift off the ground and could go airborn if given wings.
  22. I've seen the vette at IPS. Like it. Not sure about the stripes but would not say no to it. Welcome.
