  1. Had some time off for the holidays so I gave her a good wash and a very light decontamination with a NanoMitt. Then I top-off to the coating with a wipe down of some new detail spray that I'm testing out to add some good slickness and shine. Ran some errands over the past couple days but the metallic still shines through the dust and I couldn't help but take a few shots with the sun trying to peak through. My Favorite Angle/view of the car. Looks good for a now 5 year old design I think. I miss the S4 and it looked great but the Q I think looks sharper overall. http://www.pbase.com/timothylauro/image/168609242/original.jpg Great job by the Japanese of using the Human Eye Design for the headlights. It's pretty cool to see them rotate and follow the turns even when backing out of a spot. Creepy to see her eyes move. http://www.pbase.com/timothylauro/image/168609216/original.jpg The hood is so curvy that it doesn't reflect perfectly but here's a shot at capturing it. http://www.pbase.com/timothylauro/image/168609214/original.jpg
  2. It's still getting worse. I only wish my brother in law in Oregon and my Sister in Law in Athens could chime in with the details. I hear about the crap they are going through and it's amazing anyone would ante up to see patients on those plans. They flat out don't and the one in Athens is moving to a full consulting and teaching practice in January (her own business) because private insurance is following the same path as the gov't plans now and it's just plain not worth the money they pay for the work she has to do. Perhaps Kirk will chime in.
  3. When did you come into my house? T-'d it up for you...
  4. Multi-angle view points and 360 views now possible.
  5. Yep....probably can see through the walls of your house to confirm you are indeed whacking off to Japanese porn on the web site they have visibility on your computer

  7. Cleaned up for the holidays and waiting for a wheels-off so I can remove some balancing weight residue from the new Michelin install. http://www.pbase.com/timothylauro/image/168589731/original.jpg http://www.pbase.com/timothylauro/image/168589727/original.jpg
  8. Sorry I missed your question/post. Don't laugh.....I like the cheap stuff. Meg's Hot Shine in the pump bottle. 64oz refills are cheap too. At the end of the day to me all tire dressings need re-done after rain thus Stoners More Shine and Hot Shine work great for me. They go on a bit glossy but you can wipe them as I've done and knock-down that shine a bit. I put a couple coats on. IIRC I took some of the after shots, then coated them again and took more so I can't say for sure which pics have two coats vs one. Here it is on my car with two coats then wiped to a satin finish.

Sony or LG. Preference to Sony for color spectrum and reliability. LG is the better of the Korean Brands but Sony still leads the way for accuracy and width of colors. They are pricey but there's a reason.
  11. Thank you sirs. Yes, it absolutely looked like a magic eraser or scotch bright pad was used. Unfortunately however, that damage is typical of years of car washes and likely some improper drying techniques that most average drivers inflict. Pure black is very sensitive to showing everything that touches it too.
  12. haha! that's great to hear! It's a sharp car and I'm not gonna lie.....not much beats the hearty sound of a V8 upon startup.
  13. Call Bill Krohmer at Quick Lane right next door to Germain. Again, they are part of the dealership. I'm going there tomorrow to get them to balance out my new Michelin's. 614-383-4702
  14. So Travis here on CR Recently picked up a really nice 2013 CTS-V and wanted to get himself a little something for the holidays. Body wise the car is in great shape and has just over 50k on the ODO but it needed some love on the surface. It's pure black which really shows everything and once it's out in the sun or under lights, the true condition of what he was faced with jumped out. It didn't help that early on in his ownership his little one grabbed a key and tried to put a pin stripe down the entire passenger side of the car With all that was facing it we decided on my Elite Enhancement Correction Service. This service is geared to greatly reduce the appearance of the marring and defects. Topping it all off would be a dual layer protection of CarPro Cquartz UK v3.0. Here's what the starting point was: http://www.pbase.com/timothylauro/image/168558199/original.jpg http://www.pbase.com/timothylauro/2013_ctsv_gallery/original.jpg Part of what we're seeing here is an attempt by the owner to correct the key marks. Unfortunately when polishing on paint by hand the pressure is never even and will result in the inability of the work to blend properly. http://www.pbase.com/timothylauro/image/168558198/original.jpg These Swirls and holograms are what prevents the true depth and beauty of pure black from showing. http://www.pbase.com/timothylauro/image/168558200/original.jpg The hood.....these swirls would dominate under the lights of a gas station or the sunshine at a car meet. Critical to remove them. http://www.pbase.com/timothylauro/image/168558202/original.jpg Not a problem. Phase one was to lightly compound the surface and remove the defects. Goal here is correction and thus leaving just some minor haze that would easily clear up in the next step of polishing. http://www.pbase.com/timothylauro/image/168558201/original.jpg Same here on the door/sides of the vehicle. Here the haze is a little more visible. http://www.pbase.com/timothylauro/image/168558203/original.jpg Next comes the polishing. Not only does this serve as a means of ramping up the gloss but the polish I use serves as a primer or base-coat for it's corresponding coating. http://www.pbase.com/timothylauro/image/168558205/original.jpg The end result becomes a deep black mirror-like surface that will show nicely at a car meet. http://www.pbase.com/timothylauro/image/168558209/original.jpg Can't skimp on the wheels or calipers http://www.pbase.com/timothylauro/image/168558208/original.jpg Knocked about 5yrs off the age of the vehicle IMO http://www.pbase.com/timothylauro/image/168558207/original.jpg http://www.pbase.com/timothylauro/image/168558210/original.jpg http://www.pbase.com/timothylauro/image/168558214/original.jpg http://www.pbase.com/timothylauro/image/168558216/original.jpg Thanks again to Travis for trusting me with his newly purchased baby and allowing me the opportunity to bring it back to life!
  15. My car goals are garage goals. Plans are to finish the floor and work on a complete re-vamp of storage. The storage and layout I have is very do-able and works but it needs to be stepped up. Goal #1 for 2019 is the floor. In terms of vehicles, the two we have are interim ones. My next car is on my mind and I waffle a lot. Could be an SUV as I'm really interested in seeing the new Lincoln Aviator but it may end up being what I should have pulled the trigger on this time but didn't, a larger sedan. Something along the lines of a 550i M-Sport or like. First world problems either way.

  17. It's been a while since I jumped back into editing and camera fun but I'm trying to get back into it again. Here's a quick before and after clean up I did for a friend who didn't like the background distractions. http://www.pbase.com/timothylauro/image/168545814/large.jpg http://www.pbase.com/timothylauro/image/168545812/large.jpg
  18. Somehow I missed this thread when you put it up. VERY NICE! Always loved that car but even more so now. Not gonna lie, it needs pics with your wife in it though 1oz CarPro ECH20 to 20oz Water with about 3oz or so of CarPro Reload. I mix it up in a 32oz bottle, shake well before each use. Works great.
  19. Come on what kind of human being are you? Don't you know Healthcare is not supposed to be a for-profit business model. That's just wrong. Sent from my Galaxy Note 8 using Tapatalk
  20. Thank you sir. Moo Moo? Don't do it. I used to take my Company Fusion there all the time and had to polish the swirls out every spring. I never drive customer vehicles. However, I did drive my buddy's P90D with Ludacris mode when I was on travels in MN about 2 weeks back. They had snow on the ground and it was still insane. Dry cold roads with winter tires and that beast just flat out moved out. He's a car buff with a ZO6 too and he wasn't joking that the P90D is more fun around town than his Vette. AWD no doubt is key to it. Handling is far better than I though it would be too. Low center of gravity really helps.
  21. So a fellow CR Member, Brian brought me his wife's daily driver for a good clean up and polish. It's not only a daily driver but one that lives outside too. It's a 2016 with 30k on the clock and it appears from day one the wife uses regular soft-finger style car washes. Still a major ouch! for the paint. The good news is Brian keeps the car VERY clean and while it did have it's share of car wash scars, they cleaned up pretty easily with my Premium Enhancement Polish Package The car has had both the front and rear bumpers re-painted and while the body and paint works looked great (Kevin Clifford), I pulled out some compound and wool pads to really give them a good clean-up since they appeared and did benefit from finishing them out a bit more. Given it has a TON of plastic trim, he opted in for the trim to be tacked with a world class ceramic-based coating for the trim so what you see here in terms of darkness will stay thus saving him a lot of time. It will also shed dirt and grim much easier too. Here's what Scoobie-Blue looks like: Again, here in Ohio Winters tend to be quite blah and grey and no, it wasn't helpful to be later in the afternoon. Combined cell pics are okay but nothing awesome. Thanks again for trusting in my work Brian! As you can see, it had a solid amount of scratches and swirls. http://www.pbase.com/timothylauro/image/168531214/original.jpg http://www.pbase.com/timothylauro/image/168531215/original.jpg http://www.pbase.com/timothylauro/image/168531216/original.jpg http://www.pbase.com/timothylauro/image/168531217/original.jpg http://www.pbase.com/timothylauro/image/168531218/original.jpg http://www.pbase.com/timothylauro/image/168531224/original.jpg http://www.pbase.com/timothylauro/image/168531220/original.jpg http://www.pbase.com/timothylauro/image/168531221/original.jpg http://www.pbase.com/timothylauro/image/168531222/original.jpg http://www.pbase.com/timothylauro/image/168531223/original.jpg http://www.pbase.com/timothylauro/image/168531219/original.jpg
  22. because 320M people taking care of their own health is a policy that wouldn't benefit our society at all in any way. gotcha. it was a statement more around what I see as common sense vs self righteousness. that the fact that you seem to think that think the betterment of millions of individuals health wouldn't put a significant dent in the cost of healthcare for all is to me LOL silly. If that's moral superiority then so be it. Common sense to me. because I believe solutions lie more in the people than in the gov't and the fact that people do need to do more, especially around their health, in order to lower costs for all. I'm a careful driver and have had just a couple minor claims on my insurance in 33+ years of driving thus doing my part to not only look out for myself but in return I'm not adding to the burden of high insurance costs for the drivers around me. why....if it's good for everyone, then it's good for everyone. even Kerry agrees that personal actions are poor public policy so I may as well swim with the rest....in the mean time however, I'll continue to do my best to not file healthcare claims by taking care of myself and my family. let's see if the rest of the country and do the same. the very least they can do is bring their BMI down to non-obese ranges so my trips to the beach are more enjoyable.
  23. They are not really anything intellectual, it's just the Midwestern way of saying look at how much better I am because I am doing the thing that I think will work. you are clearly a pretty negative person dude. still not sure why you continue to resort to personal attacks either nothing I've noted in the latest round of my points made are a better-than-thow position. In fact I've been quite clear that my beliefs are exactly that and how anyone else chooses to react as it relates to their health is exactly that, their own choice and responsibility. I've made no opinion on the points others have made as it relates to their comments on this matter either. deaths from drug OD's far outweigh guns but yes, you are correct that I don't see guns as an issue and you know why and where I stand on the various groups of dead people with bullets in them. the vast majority are not at all related to guns being the core problem. but if you want to bounce to another topic.....
  24. because I'm focusing first on what I can directly control and impact not only for my own good but the greater good too. I have three MD's in my family one of which is an oncologist. We can agree to disagree then if you feel we as humans can't make a significant impact on our lives as it relates to cancer. You work with your source and I'll will work with mine. sure environment plays a part but there's more to it in terms of health than just red meat. all depends on how you look at things, circle of concern or circle of influence. more choices for each of us to make. I think the stats are that about 68% of Americans are considered Obese. Doesn't really matter, just look around no matter where you are and you'll see a sea of fatties. If people just simply focused on not being obese they could impact some pretty major cost-related chronic diseases strokes, diabete, osteoarthriti, cataracts, sleep disorders, gout and many more. If Kirk ever reads up here I'll let him chime in as he's an actual doc. drugs aren't the answer for most of the chronic diseases society faces and obviously the personal responsibility we each have in our own health isn't going to impact access to care. although from a supply and demand standpoint doctors are in a shortage largely because they aren't in a situation where they need to go to rural/poor communities. Remove a big portion of what I've mentioned and perhaps they would be able and willing to focus on other areas. Right now it's easy for them to find people in need. I've never said we shouldn't try and address things from a policy standpoint.
  25. Nearly 75 percent of all deaths in the United States are attributed to basically ten causes, with the top three of these being Heart Disease, Cancer and Lower Respiratory Disease and account for over 50 percent of all deaths and all of which are GREATLY influenced by the choices we make about what we put in our bodies and expose ourselves to. Will it "fix" healthcare, no and not one is claiming it would. The Agency for Healthcare research and Quality (AHRQ) estimates that the direct medical costs (total of all health care costs) for cancer in the US is over $80B per year. Treatment for heart related diseases account for nearly $1 of every $6 spenton health care in the United States. So, if you seriously don't think individuals could work to better themselves and put a significant dent in the cost of healthcare for everyone then I'm just going to LOL and go detail another cool car, continue to care for myself and my family while you and others enjoy waiting around for politicians and public policy. Don't hold your breath regardless of who is in office though.
