  1. So.... What are the problems you're trying to make go away? I had a run in with Vette PCM a year or so ago and got some insight from our guys who rebuild them down in FL. Is it a set problem or a rash of random issues?
  2. Clay, I've got a programmer and should have the correct cable to do it off the car (stock OE program only). Will need to see the PCM to be sure - we list two different ones for that year. By the way - JH's don't have to screw with this type of stuff. I'll send you a PM with the number in case you misplaced it!
  3. Name Car Class Number PAX FTD 31RX7 Honda STS 181 32.199 39.459 AJ Corvette ASP 565 32.722 37.961 Turboed Miata STS2 64 33.324 40.738 KidneyBoy 91 BMW 318is SM 31 33.812 39.316 craig71188 Reynard kart F125 7 35.460 37.405 Bumps suck! PAX sucks! I suck! Got to get some new tires, loose 20 pounds, and get my head screwed on straight!!! Who was the idiot that suggested this?!? (yea - I got to it this morning after all - sorry about the layout -the website doesn't like spreadsheets - or extra spaces)
  4. Unless you were in a kart!!! Tim's kart kit so hard on one bump he tore a weight off his seat and was hobbling the rest of the day. My back is a bit sore to say the least. The final slalom was just a lucky shot to see if you landed pointed the right direction for the last couple of cones. I'll get throught the results and post up the "official" CR PAX list tonight.
  5. I've got 4 (including me) in for the PAX challenge as of tonight: AJ, Turboed, KidneyBoy and myself. I will not check the board tonight or in the morning - soooo, If you want in - stop by the kart paddock, white enclosed trailer behind a blue/grey Grand Prix, I'll have the sign up sheet out on a clipboard nearby. I'll be running around with set up until the drivers meeting - or you can just catch me there. See you all tomorrow!
  6. In the past OVR (local SCCA region) has rented pylons and timers to other groups - particularly if some SCCA members are involved. It has to go before the regional board though. Considering the antics on public streets of some CR members recently, it may be a tough sell. The Ohio Historical center has allowed the use of their lot for the Miata club, Porsche club has been at OSU. National trails has had other groups (usually associated with other events at Trails) hold autocrosses on their lots. I don't know of any other groups that use Cooper. I suppose step one would be to have an "official" CR representative approach the lot holders to see if they will allow the use of the lot and at what cost. Second step would be to secure cones and timing equipment (SCCA, PCA, Miata club, etc.) Third, decide on a set of rules to use. Finally, get enough people to show up to make it worthwhile. Just seems easier to piggyback with an existing group and run and event within an event. We are "unofficially" running the CR PAX Challenge within the SCCA events for anyone that wants to play along.
  7. I was going to have Legg & Davis do mine (tear out & replace 155 sq yards / add 45-50 sq yard pad) - but they are so far behind, and I still have cars that like to leak oil on the pavement, I may just patch and reseal since oil is so high. I do still need the pad put in - drop me a quote if anyone is interested.
  8. OK, I brought it up, so.... CR PAX Challenge: PM me with your screen name, real name, car number & class or Stop by the kart paddock and I'll have a sign up sheet (white enclosed trailer behind a blue/grey Grand Prix When results are posted, I'll pull the "entered" names from the list and post the "official" CR PAX and FTD results. Let the smack talking begin - bragging rights to follow!
  9. Welcome! and +1 for cool dads who bring their sons (and daughters) along right!
  10. I know several folks have done the 5 speed conversion - I do not know the cost, nor where they are sourcing the box (OE on something?). The motor runs strong and seems sound - I did a "quickie" replacement of some gaskets on the carbs (leaks) and didn't really go through them like I should have. Also, just to get it started, I cleaned the old points - and they had "closed up" the other day. I would assume new points condensor and a thorough carb rebuild / adjustment would set it right.
  11. I was thinking of Nelson Ledges - the park - (I think it's actually called Nelson & Kennedy Ledges) I thought it was state owned. If there is a private campground right near the park, I would say no... if your favorite camp spot has a big paved driveway that runs for about two miles around the outside... you may be in trouble!
  12. This is the racetrack that is just a little north of there. If I recall, driving north out of Garretsville you turn left to go to the park - continuing on north a few miles you would come to the road course on the right. If my old and shakey memory serves me correctly.
  13. "It is strongly rumored (no I can't say for sure) that this will be the last LD that runs on the Nelson course as it now stands. Will it be the real, very last Longest Day -only time will tell. However, I mentioned the possibility back in 1996 that with fewer entries the race might have to go into hiatus -many of you didn't listen back then...so as they say "a word to the wise"..." This is a quote from Ann McHugh's update on the 2008 Longest Day race. Ann has been the driving force behind this race since it's inception. The bold and underlined portion was highlighted by me, but I can find little else regarding the sale at this time. If they actually "fix" and "refine" Nelson Ledges it will be bittersweet. Part of the "charm" of the track is its "rustic" nature. If it actually becomes civilizrd, it will be nice - bt just not the same. I guess it's time to call up some old friends and see if they're still planning to race this year. One more trip up to crew at the 24 hour race may be in order before it's gone...
  14. Oops - fixed typo and deleted old links to save confusion
  15. OK - all delusions are gone - I need my garage space back - rock bottom price $2000 link below - clear title awaits cash!!! (or the trade option!) http://columbus.craigslist.org/car/760582910.html
  16. I have 3 195/50-15's in the shed if that's not too short.
  17. Or... you can take the screw out of the handle (and again-after turning off the water in the house) loosen the large nut under the handle (if you have that type of faucet/*****et/spigot). You can then pull the "guts" out of the unit and simply replace the sealing washer.
  18. And I agree - I work for Four Seasons - sell the line, do a ton of training for them and handle warranty. If I could just get more shops to do the complete job the right way in the first place, they'd make money, we'd make money and people would have a/c that worked right the first time. Yea, more will be pissed about the cost the first time, but it's better than being pissed off over and over until they get ti right and you've still piad just as much and wasted a lot more time (and probably cost me money for the "rental parts" to diagnose it)!
  19. All true - would like to see the work order and know what was really done - and the actual condition of the compressor that came off. At this point it's just guesswork. One would think a competant a/c shop would make it right and/or wouldn't have shipped it in the first place.
  20. Also, if they just slapped on a compressor (and the old one had a major internal failure), it's very possible the condenser is full of shrapnel from the old compressor (even if they flushed the system) and will need replaced also. Temp testing the system is the only definitive way to tell.
  21. I've always used Research Alloys - south off Goodale across from the old Big Bear headquarters. He does scrap, but has all kinds of aluminum "drops" and cut pieces that he sells per pound regardless of alloy type. He's always done me right over the years.
  22. SVO Mustangs (one of my favorites!), Merkur XR4Ti, Pontiac Bonneville SSEi, The whole DSM assortment.....
