  1. stock clutch, 600rwhp for the past 2 years with no issues. i'm leaning more and more towards auto. i'll throw my IRS and 6 speed into one of my foxes.
  2. will do. i've heard good and bad about the spec stage 3+. its either "on" or "off"--no feathering the clutch. some chatter more than others, and either way, it won't reliably hold 1000hp. twin discs are not much more expensive when you figure the power they will hold, and the fact that they come with a flywheel.
  3. send it out to get it done, and upgrade to 26 spline input shaft and a twin disc clutch---if you don't go with a 26 spline, then you honestly should not upgrade anything at all in the tranny, as that is clearly the weakest link. or go auto. i'm tossing both ideas around right now as we speak--my car's been at near 600rwhp for two years now with the stock IRS and stock clutch/tranny--time for some upgrades.

most likely not. probably some pimple-faced little fag who's going to tell all his warcraft buddies about this in homeroom tomorrow.

this guy sucks. he deserves a worse name than that.
  6. simply badass. i'd love one of these. congrats on the new purchase.
  7. didn't see my car--of course they were videoing all the top cars. i finished 25th out of the 110 or so cars that entered. i had a shitty second run where i missed 3rd gear, and just shifted into 4th instead--still ran a 12.4. i did see the pictures posted on the NMRA site where you can purchase pics of your car. they're expensive as hell---$60 for a high resolution computer shot emailed to you?? wtf. here's the link http://www.photoreflect.com/pr3/orderpage.aspx?pi=00SL00HG020057&po=57
  8. did anybody mention a G8?? your friend may need a reality check. sporty, 4 doors, good gas mileage, low maintenance costs, sunroof, WARRANTY, and $6-12k do not go together if you ask me. buy anything in that price range and you are getting a car with at least 50k miles.
  9. don't listen to your fiance's father. go to a good public med school. i went to OSU for med school, and got the residency of my choice in a very competitive field (orthopedic surgery). i was accepted into the 3 private schools i applied to (Univ. of PENN, case western, and J. Hopkins), and decided to go to OSU. my loans are literally less than half of what they would have been had i gone to a private school. columbus is a great town, and there were plenty of 'normal' people in my class--that may not be the case at private med schools. the difference between $150k in loans, and $300k is huge. even if you want to go into academic medicine for a career (and make much, much less money), you can easily do so by going to a public med school. again, good luck--have you taken the MCAT yet?
  10. change it. i always go back and forth with this. i drive my cobra less than 3k miles per year. i end up changing the oil every 6 months--i should probably change it every 3 months, but i can't justify changing it with less than 1500 miles on it, when it looks perfect every time i change it. i change the oil on my GTO every 4-5 months, and i put about 3k miles on it between changes--oil looks fairly dirty when i change it too. i use mobil 1 5w-30 on both cars, and have been very happy with it
  11. medicine is not a college major. 'pre-med' is a term used to describe coursework one takes to prepare for entrance into medical school. your 'major' is likely biology, zoology, micro, chemistry, or something along those lines. interestingly enough, admissions committees love to interview students with different majors, such as english, art, etc--it screams: "i'm diverse, interesting, and not another biology major". and fyi, this will be the easiest, most carefree time of your life--enjoy it. if you think you'll magically have more time if/when you get into medical school, you'll be sadly disappointed. good luck with your career--its still worth going into even though obama is trying to fuck us. and in general, people who you sell stuff to don't give a shit how busy you are--that's why i don't sell any of the many parts i've stockpiled over the 10 years i've been modding all my mustangs--i don't have the time to deal with issues like the one in this thread, and the money is not worth the hassle to me.
  12. hot as shit. i didn't see anybody with stickers on the body of their car--other than 'self-inflicted sticker over-indulgence'. when it was all said and done, i had 6 stickers on my car, and then the huge banner. just about all of the serious players were rocking chuted notches. i have no idea how i finished in the standings, as i had to leave right after my 3rd pass. wish i would have been able to stay to check out the car show, swap meet, more racing, etc.
  13. they felt great. now, i'm shooting for 10's. i need to work on my driving technique--didn't powershift on any of my runs.
  14. it was a great time. hot as shit. i've never participated in one of these before--its crazy--hundreds of people walking through the staging lanes--little kids jumping out right in front of your car all over the place. complete clusterfuck, but fun as hell.
  15. thanks. i couldn't believe there were some cars running low 9's/high 8's that were able to complete the cruise and 3 runs. there were somewhere around 110 cars that competed in the true street class--huge turnout for them
  16. went to the NMRA meet today in bradenton, florida. the track is about an hour from where i live. i ran in the true street class (30 mile cruise immediately followed by 3 back-to-back passes--can't open your hood or make any changes, etc.). my wife took one crappy video before she decided she had had enough, and went home. in the staging lanes http://img87.imageshack.us/img87/9573/pb211381.jpg some of my slips. we were allowed to make some shakedown passes in the morning, where i ran my best. it was humid today, and somewhere in the mid to high 80's. my best pass in columbus was 12.04 at 121 mph with a 2.05 60ft time. i've made no changes to my car other than a larger intercooler reservoir (which didn't matter today, since you couldn't open your hood to fill it with ice), and slightly more aggressive launching technique. this is the 2nd time i've had this car at the track. enough excuses:: http://img14.imageshack.us/img14/2930/imgxbn.jpg http://img87.imageshack.us/img87/3300/img0001n.jpg i'm still running a near-stock IRS. i have just about everything for my built solid rear. solid rear, slicks/skinnies, more practice=10's?? edit:: the last race (2:44pm), i ran a guy with a 2003 cobra--with a 2.6 kenne bell, solid rear, automatic, 75 shot, and big slick/skinny combo. i almost edged him out. clearly, his car was not running right--
  17. wow. i usually hate body kits on ANY car--but that car looks amazing. wheels are incredible. i'd rock that in a heartbeat.
  18. kill him?? edit:: does he live in columbus?? do you have his address?? how did you get the parts?? you should be able to find out where he lives. people tend to answer questions when they are confronted face-to-face
  19. good looking vette. welcome
