  1. start small, but know what your overall goal is in advance. you can't just expect to slap random parts together and have a great car. try some weight reduction as well.
  2. +1 on brian for the tune. read up on how to install it yourself, or do it at a shop. no one is going to take the time to do the install like you would, you just have to learn how. i took 2 days to install the whipple on my car. i researched the install for months. checked everything multiple times, test fitted it, checked, and double checked EVERYTHING. no shop is going to do that. but if you simply don't want to fuck your car up, i can understand that
  3. that sucks. its why i don't like to park my mustangs anywhere but in the garage at home. when i first bought my fox 10 years ago, i revved it up as i parked it at our rec center (there were high school kids all around outside). i came back from my workout and the car was keyed the entire length of the driver's side. i've never revved the car again while parking it. keying a car is up there with the most cowardly things that one can do. if you're going to file an insurance claim, make sure you file a police report first and specify where it happened--i know you said you weren't sure, but don't tell the cops that-- this is why my comprehensive deductible is $0. sadly, my cars are much, much more likely to be vandalized then actually crashed by me, or crashed into.
  4. about 4 years ago, my old roommate used a u-haul with a trailer to tow his car to seattle, and the u-haul truck had a hitch, and it was a specific u-haul trailer. maybe they've changed things, as that was 4 years ago.
  5. i was at QS&L with my red '87 fox on friday. but must not have been me, i didn't get pulled over, or even go on rt 23. cops are all over the place this weekend.
  6. sucks man. i used to think that i wouldn't be all that upset if i nailed a dog that ran out in front of my car. but now that we have two dogs, and i realize how attached people get to their pets, i would feel bad too. you did all that you could do, sometimes you just can't avoid it.

    4.6-What?

what happened??? high speed run?? scuffed #7/#8 pistons?? i've had the blower off my car several times and may be willing to help you put it back together. kirk
  8. where are they located at in hilliard??
  9. i have fox lake ported GT-40p heads, they work great. the spark plug angle is a bit different, but i run BBK longtubes with a small dent pounded into the rear driver's side header to clear the spark plug boot. some of the other spark plug wires come close, but if you can get 90 degree plug wires, its not a problem. they made special MAC headers specifically for the GT40p heads, but mine leaked, so i ditched them. they can be found pretty cheap.
  10. i don't know you, and have never dealt with you, but i've read the entire thread, and disagree with your line of reasoning, just like everyone else who's posted in this thread. if he called you that day, told you he'd be by AROUND 3pm, and you sold it at 4pm, that means you sold it out from under him---plain and simple. correct me if i'm wrong here: you guys agreed on a price he agreed to buy it he called you that day said he'd be by around 3pm he showed up about an hour late you had already sold the computer did you warn him that you would sell it to the first person who showed up with money in hand? if it happened to me, i'd start a thread to warn other people here, regardless of anything i said to you in person just my opinion
  11. golden retriever---1 year old lab/greyhound mix---5 yrs. old
  12. i think i saw it, its on top of the transmission and can be reached from the engine bay. i might just give it a try--what do i have to lose??
  13. can you get to the connector from under the hood, or is it under the car?? thanks
  14. i would kill for that color GTO with solid black interior
  15. guys, i just successfully fixed the head gasket on my '90 grand prix, and have run into a possible problem with the transmission?? the check engine light has been coming on and off, but when the car is on the freeway, it keeps downshifting, and upshifting at steady speeds (70-80mph) like its looking for a gear or something. then it fell on its face a few times at slower speeds when i hit the gas, and then jolted forward (almost felt like a neutral drop). the tranny has plenty of fluid. the car has good oil pressure, and power. it is not running hot, or losing coolant/oil. i'm thinking of taking it into autozone to have the check engine code read, but it sounds like a tranny problem. any thoughts?? this car is getting closer and closer to the grave
