isn't that the new 'parallel parking assist' mode? that car IS fast on the grand scheme of things. the term 'grand scheme', means to take all things into account. meaning, to take all other cars into account. i don't have a specific number to quote, but i imagine that car being faster than 95% of all other cars on the road at any given moment. i haven't seen the jalopnik article, but i give the guy props for at least coming out and trying to explain himself. i would have sold the car off immediately, never to be driven on public roads again. everyone thinks they are a professional driver. i've taken my vette out in a huge parking lot and practiced drifting, donuts, etc etc---it was a blast. i also USED TO do huge burnouts up my driveway. i have a 300' driveway that goes up a hill and curves to the left. i can rememer the one time i shut all traction control and stabilitrak off my vette and decided to do a driveway burnout. my kids were up by the garage, ex-wife was doing who knows what in the garage. i ended up getting sideways in a hurry, over-corrected, and ended up 50' into the neighbor's front yard. nothing was damaged, a few marks were seen in the grass, and i missed a 8" diameter tree by 5 feet. the ex didn't see it, neighbors had no idea. only the kids saw it. to this day, the kids still think it was:: 1)done on purpose 2)the most awesome thing they've ever seen done with a car they still ask me to do it again when i go out in the vette. the point being, everyone has likely done something insanely dumb in a car---this guy just did it in front of a ton of people

i would recommend drilling some holes in the stock muffler, and putting a high temperature paint over the area so it doesn't rust. you can maybe throw some stainless nuts and bolts into the muffler if you want a bit more of an exotic 'rasp' sub $500 and quality do not go hand in hand. most cheap systems will rust quickly, and/or are manufactured with thinner metal. they also have fitment issues. if you plan on keeping the car long term, i'd recommend a more expensive kit. they have specific truck forums out there---you can ask there and get FIRST HAND experience from someone who will be able to confirm the presence of drone---which you obviously don't want. cheap systems often times have tons of drone---because there has been no R&D in the system to eliminate drone just my $0.02. there is ZERO reason for a modern-day quality exhaust system to drone

Maybe he will invite you to the next dyno session? Or when the motor grenades you can perform an autopsy? Perhaps either of those options would ease your troubles -

He's asking for advice, we're giving it. Sometimes people don't like hearing it, but the clear thing to do is notify the husband---it's a no-brainer. As far as not noticing $30k, I don't know what to tell you. Once things started going south in my marriage, I really paid attention to the money, and where it was going. It was an eye opener for me. Not a $30k eye opener, but she was spending stupid amounts of money on clothes/interior design/makeup/shoes/dog day care. Obviously, that is no more. It's easier than you think to assume the person you'd trust with your life is not fucking you over.

that's not even half of it. during the time prior to the divorce i put up with her spending money on her boyfriend (i didn't know it at the time)---steaks, tons of starbucks!!, etc etc. while we were going through the divorce, we had the kids in the house at all times---each of us had separate apartments where we stayed when we didn't have the kids---this dude was living at her apartment. all kinds of crazy shit, i could literally write a book. it was a miracle i didn't end up shooting this asshole. in the end, i realized (correctly) that this guy wasn't the problem. it was her. 3 years ago it was a different guy, and 3 years from now it would have been a different guy. i have an insanely busy job, and admittedly, wasn't the father i wanted to be 2 years ago---because i was stuck on earning money so the family could have whatever they wanted. now i have the kids 50% of the time. i have a physician assistant, and still do 90% of the work i did previously, and am completely fine financially. i take my kids to school every day, and pick them up from school 3/5 days. take them to activities, and am with them 100% of the weekends when i have them. its awesome. the weeks when i don't have the kids i can and will do whatever the fuck i want. i can travel, hunt, etc. its like being in college again, just with an unlimited bankroll. my ex has now had to go back to work---:fuckyeah: she calls me every other week bawling--i have no idea why, i usually just say "wow, that sucks" and hang up :fuckyeah: i had to buy the ex her house--its half the size of mine. her boyfriend is a security guard--not that there's a damn thing wrong with that, but its a far cry from the lifestyle she gave up. her family was crushed. her dad still texts me--lol. and everyone that was a friend of hers has come up to me apologizing for what i'm going through. all say the same thing---i haven't talked to her in 6 months. i'm upset that my kids are not going to have an 'unbroken' household. i have the pride to know i literally tried everything to make it work. the divorce was an all-out war. in the end, i feel like i did well. how many men who were not there as much to raise the kids before the divorce can honestly say they kicked their ex out of the house, kept the house, got 50% custody, avoided ANY alimony, kept all of their toys, kept all of the mutual friends and stole many of the spouse's friends?

+1000 after having just successfully parted ways with a lying, cheating, poor excuse for a wife/mother, i couldn't agree more with this statement. man the fuck up, grow a pair, get this guy on the phone, and save him from another second of supporting a stupid bitch who is essentially, robbing him. facebook has served as the accelerant to the demise of countless doomed marriages. this guy is drowning in the middle of the ocean, and you're spraying him with a fucking firehose. my only regret is giving my ex a second chance and trying as hard as i did for the children. in the end, i have to pay her quite a bit in child support each month. its enough to make most people cringe. however, i still have 50% custody of my kids, my dignity, my sweet-ass massive house, all my cars, a hotter, younger girlfriend, and plenty of money to spend on whatever the fuck i want. divorce is not as bad as i feared. my crazy ex used to spend $200 a month at starbucks---true story

new cars are expensive. while a lot more cars are coming out with 400hp stock, its still not a large volume. and these cars are not cheap either----your G8 certainly wasn't 400hp, when it was built 7 years ago. a couple years ago, you would hear rumors of guys eeking out a base modle 5.0 mustang (412hp) for $25k. mustangs are easily north of $35k and upwards of $45k when optioned out. i don't know the price of camaros, but i have to assume its similar, with dodge the same. its the price of admission.

The nfl is entertainment. Always has been, always will be. These people are role models (or are at least supposed to be). They get money for playing a game. They also get money for endorsing products. Do you think anyone would want this asshole endorsing their product? Do you think anyone would want this fuckhead as a role model for their child? Part of being in that position is dealing with the media in a professional manner. Because they are in the public eye, nfl players are FINALLY being held to professional standards off the field (domestic violence policy--see Adrian Peterson). If I were his coach or the commissioner, I'd suspend him until he gets his shit together and the fucking stick out of his ass

There's a reason my vette and ctsv sit in hibernation for six months out of the year while I beat the ever living fuck out of my gtr year round and run into nearly anything I can with my raptor. Even though you can avoid getting stuck with a rwd car and proper snow tires---that's not why I buy 550+ hp cars. I buy them because I like to beat on them like they owe me money. When my '13 gt500 actually worked, I had the exact same problem. Every time I put the pedal to the firewall, the car tried to kill me
-
It's not played out--not even close. It bothers him, which makes it even more entertaining.
-
Congrats. Monster of a car.

No awd no care. I just can't even really enjoy 550hp much of the year with rear wheel drive only.
