The lack of personal responsibility in the non-tax paying segment of this country is so out of control, there are no words to describe it. Yesterday's example:: 26 year old, 4 months out from a shattered elbow surgery. Broke it in a bar fight. He has no money, no job, no insurance. I fix his elbow in a 2 hour surgery knowing I will not get paid. He gets the same surgery anyone else would get--110% effort. He shows up only once after surgery, only to ask for pain medication. He can't afford any of the therapy, even at $5-10 a session. He shows up two months later and I have to take him back to surgery because he has not moved, or gone to therapy once. He asks for Percocet. Still can't afford therapy although he has an iPhone. Shows up yesterday complaining of pain, now in the other wrist. Why? Because he just sat through a 5 hour tattoo session getting a sleeve. Seriously? I see this every day and I live no where near the inner city

Couldn't have said it better. These people have zero issues signing up for virtually any elective surgery. Because it's free for them and they don't have to worry about getting back to a non existent job.

again, i can tell you how much the actual physician/practitioner over-seeing the care was given. its likely an order of magnitude less than the bill you received. none of the changes are affecting insurance companies---which are the ones who need to be targeted, as well as the malpractice attorneys.

fertility treatments are much less than $20k. in vitro should cost no more than $12k.

i have no boss :fuckyeah: the insurance companies are the ones to blame. people are always shocked when they find out how much/little doctors are paid. without googling, what do you think i get paid to do a knee replacement?? consider, the payment includes, the pre-operative 40 minute visit, the 1.5 hour surgery, rounding in the hospital for 3 days, and all visits (3 in my case) for the first three months after surgery. your issue clearly is with me, by the statement you made. or are you taking that statement back?

you're entitled to comments like that as soon as you::: get over a 3.5gpa in high school, allowing you to go to a good 4 year college get 3.98 or better in college, with two majors, scoring off the chart on the MCAT exam, allowing you to get into a great med school, with a scholarship bust your ass through 4 years of med school, top 10% of your class, so that you can get a great residency work 80-120 hours weekly in 5 years of residency, making enough to pay interest-only, on your 6 figure school loans work over 100 hours a week for even less money, during your one year fellowship, where you essentially learn how to master two surgeries work roughly 80 hours a week while in practice---finally making a good living, yet having to balance work, family, and the stress of the job notice the common theme?? "work" "bust your ass" "stress". i am not unique in my situation--every physician has gone through a similar path--and yes, they are all equally pissed the government is strolling in to tell us we're not worth it. --let me know when your resume compares, and i'll stop bitching--and i'll give you the keys to any one of my cars--i barely have time to drive them anymore.

I guess I'm the only one in this thread who worked today and didn't watch tv all day. I'm bitter as shit about obamacare. I will lose an incredible amount of money due to this bullshit idea. Anyone who works in the healthcare field knows that this bill will not affect how people use or abuse the healthcare system. Cleveland clinic is streamlining their company--they are the single largest employer in Cleveland. They are facing massive layoffs and decreases in salary (from physicians to janitors) in order to prepare for this bullshit. Our hospital is doing the same Rumors are the Cleveland clinic might cut 1000 jobs. All hospitals are following suit. Obviously, there's not going to be a decrease in the number of patients--only more, with less physicians, staff, etc. yeah, seems like a great plan.

Kind of annoying when people ask how much something costs. If I'm truly interested I will pm them, or ask in an open ended way. Usually because I have some interest in owning a particular vehicle.

Range rover is 'trail rated'. I'd ram the shit out of them too, with zero fucks given. Never understood the idiocy of some motorcyclists. As a general rule, you wouldn't play chicken with a 4k+ vehicle on a bicycle. Why would you do it on a motorcycle?

what would you do? mayble selling s10 for new projct.

Take the drivetrain out, and swap in a low-buck 5.3 truck motor with bolt-ons, make it a cruiser as stated. You'll regret selling the chassis if you do. Then either use the current drivetrain in your new project, or sell it to help fund the new project. -
Subway as stated above. Panera Salads virtually anywhere besides Taco Bell

excited for the game this weekend. the wife and i have tickets. any idea where to hang out during the day, so i can watch the other games close to the stadium, drink some beer, yet not get thoroughly annoyed with a million people?? i've done the lane avenue thing, and can't stand waiting an hour for a beer and elbow-to-elbow with 20000 people. was thinking of going to champps. any ideas?

If you could get any car you wanted, what would you get?
kirks5oh replied to Green Bastard's topic in Passing Lane
Even a basic bolt on, pushrod 5.0 can make near 300rwhp, and the car weighs around 2000lbs if I recall. Plenty to take out most average 'takers' you'd come across -
haha:fuckyeah: lots of hate for this car? i'm thinking it will grow on everyone, and the aftermarket will have solutions of some sort to make the rear end more tasteful. lowering a vette is pretty easy. i'm awaiting a factory turbo c7z, and then it won't matter what the car looks like to me. it could have a giant pink dildo painted on the front hood for all i care.

maybe he would have had the first c7 kill on video :lolguy:

call any local senior center, and firestations. most will let you borrow/rent them

i'll get some pics up tonight. we have 600 LED lights in the ceiling. each one of them has to be wired back to the LED driver module. some are brighter than others (by design), and they twinkle. its pretty sweet. we wanted to do something different.

this sounds like something you do when someone recovers from a sex change operation. :lolguy: congrats.

i spin it until i meet resistance, and then tighten one full turn---never had an issue. i put a touch of oil on the o-ring. done hundreds of oil changes, and never a drop from the filter. tech fucked up, plain and simple

i watched a special on discovery about how they build bentleys. it was an hour long and definitely worth the watch. i've often asked myself why $350k?? if you watch the show you might leave with the impression of why ONLY $350k?? the work that goes into building all the wood pieces is astonishing. the leather is tested for weak areas, and there's a crazy amount of it used in each car. the materials themself might not warrant the cost----its metal, leather, wood, plastic---just like other luxury cars. its simply the craftsmanship that goes into it. hell, they 'claimed' it takes a two man team 4 hours to hand polish the chrome grill up front. regardless, i have no need for a car like this at this time of my life. interesting story, there's a doc (adolph lombardi) in columbus who has several bentleys, and drove them nearly every day to the hospital---they are much bigger in person than you would expect. and the starliner function will not look good during the day, but it is quite epic when dark. we had this installed in a barrel vault in our bedroom celing recently when we added onto our house. its incredible at night.
