you need a completely enclosed battery--you can get 12 volt enclosed batteries (just like the power wheels ones) on ebay for $20, instead of paying $50 for an official power wheels brand battery. you don't want to use any other batter for the risk of acid leaking out all over your kid. just add a 30 amp inline fuse, and you're good to go. of course you'll need a 12 volt charger--i just use a regular car battery charger

i used to lurk quite a bit on the modified power wheels website--i'm waiting to mod our barbie jeep and get my boy a bigger powerwheels. right now, my boy rides a standard 6 volt buzz lightyear (small power wheels), and my girls have a dora jeep, barbie mustang, and princess toyota SUV. the only modded one i have right now is the 6volt pink one in the videos linked below. its now 12 volts. all the other bigger ones which are 12 volts will be converted to 24 volts next summer when my kids are ready for the extra power. tons of information on the modified website/forum. its easy to spend way too much time modding these things when your kids don't even have enough patience to wait 3 hours for the damn thing to finish charging. http://www.columbusracing.com/forums/showthread.php?t=75000&highlight=modified+power+wheels

if he's truly treated like every other walk-on, then i give him some props. i went to miami of ohio, just before big ben was there---we had a pretty good team. the guy i roomed with all 4 years was a walk-on place kicker there. some of the shit those walk-ons went through was incredible. most were 'wanna-be's--idiots who played a bit of high school football and thought they were the shit--they quit right away when they discovered what it meant to be a walk-on. my roommate was used on a regular basis, as a tackling dummy. he had to run right at the linebacker (was not allowed to make any cuts/moves/etc--just run straight ahead). the drill was meant to teach tackling form. sometimes the linebacker would absolutely level the runner--and then apologize to the coach. i can remember my buddy getting hit so hard one time, it knocked his helmet over the front of his face and broke his nose. he stuck it out for 4 years---and got quite a bit of playing time his senior year. i saw what he went through every day and it was not fun or easy.

unreal. $5000 bounty for injuring QB's, abortion paid for, $10,000 to recruits, etc. just blows my mind that espn is not all over this. they make such a huge deal out of selling jerseys and free tatoos

+1 tax the rich so damn much so that they can pay for everyone else's 'fuck-ups'. honestly, why should someone pay $10k in taxes per year, while someone else pays $100k, and yet another person pays $1million?? is the $1million tax guy entitled to more of the services that are funded through tax dollars:: http://frugaldad.com/2010/03/01/what-does-your-tax-money-actually-pay-for/ ?? does he get to randomly call 911 and have the cops patrol his driveway?? maybe have a firefighter camped out in his front yard?? free public college for his kids?? free trip to space?? absolutely no medical bills once he's on medicare?? the ability to swerve onto the other side of the orange barells to 'test out' the newly paved road before the $10k/year tax guy?? what gives the right for the gov't to tell someone they have to fill up a gym bag filled with $100's every year and just hand it over to uncle sam, while the guy next to him turns in a small stack of $100's, and the guy next to that pays absolutely nothing.

tires are getting rebalanced. the guys on the vette forum think the markings are just fine---apparently the tire is soft enough that this is common. took the wheels into the shop and they're getting rebalanced. guy at the shop thinks the tire may have even spun a bit within the wheel, throwing things off, since both tirea and wheels are new
-
this shouldn't be a problem
-
i'll get them rebalanced. i never had this happen with the other nittos. they were never quite perfect as far as balance goes.

background---just mounted 345/19" nittos for my '09 z06. they are the NT-05r's. nitto invo's up front. they've been on the car less than 100miles and i'm pretty sure they're toast. the first drive consisted of about 10 miles of highway easy driving to retorque the lugs and break the tires in. then i did a few easy launches with hard acceleration. the tires have two first gear burnouts, and 5-10 first through third gear pulls. all in all not even 100 miles. i noticed some vibration yesterday. drove the car today and the vibration seemed worse. i figured the tires weren't mounted properly and went to take them off the car. this is what i found. see the results below. http://img27.imageshack.us/img27/4307/dsc00295iw.jpg http://img52.imageshack.us/img52/6715/dsc00294bl.jpg http://img37.imageshack.us/img37/8514/dsc00292oq.jpg at this point i'm beyond frustrated. $750 for tires that saw no track time, and nothing like the burnouts i've done in the stock run-flats. what's my recourse?? the tires were purchased from discount tire. what's worse is that i have another set of these sitting in my garage waiting to go in my cobra once it gets back from the shop. thankfully, i have all 4 runflats still mounted on the stock wheels and was able to swap them back---car drives smooth/straight again. even when doing the first couple pulls, it almost felt like the rear of the car was 'loose' and that the tires weren't secure on the road. either way, i'm done with nittos---assuming they're going to tell me 'tough ****'. sad thing is, i drove my 600rwhp cobra with 555r's for 8k miles with countless first gear infernos. even had 555r's on my GTO and they lasted over 10k miles of normal driving.

good numbers. sounds great.
