I'm knocking on wood too. FJ battery is from September of 2006! Shows no signs of dying, but you can tell its harder to turn over a 3 degree engine. Only thing I can think of for outdoor cars might be to make sure they are in the car port and wont get wet....a winter of snow, melt, seeps into all the cracks, freezes, thaws, ect. That can be a little bad for trim and such. If it cannot get snowy or wet in the first place...better off.

The BOGO deals are almost ALWAYS only if you add a new line or even a year of Direct TV sometimes lol. So if you are just trying to upgrade two, you are likely SOL. Read that fine print. Theoretically you could add a new line, port your existing number to it, then delete the new one, but 9 times of 10, they will not do that since its just a way around the system.

Depending on where you buy there are some good incentives out there around this time. For example at Target, if you simply go there to upgrade or buy a phone you can get a $1-300 gift card per phone. Might be better than going to Best Buy and getting nothing extra.

I should say was 155. That was with that old $40 access charge per line. Now it’s 20 so I guess we are at $100 for two lines. No phone payments though.

So I know we are all getting old, buying mini vans and whatnot. This Consumer Cellular is marketed at old people with AARP discounts. My parents have it and swear by it. The wife and myself are planning to upgrade from our 6S's to 8's and at Verizon (current provider) I can basically do this without increasing our monthly bill of ~$155. Would be 8GB plan. At this CC, I could get the 8's with 5GB for $124 or 10GB for $134/month. Is Verizon worth the extra $20-30 per month or is CC's ATT/T-Mobile network worth the savings? Any other suggestions for 2 new 8's and a good plan. I think ATT itself actually has a BOGO sort of deal going on too (edit: which is comparable to CC price and data-wise)

Kind of yeah. Firestick is not going to support the YouTube app after 1/1/18 so I wasn't sure if that would affect anything with MTOD....I think their beef is only with YT though

If it has more than one bedroom, keep a tub. You will get dinged later for that one. Even people with no kids, but with dogs need tubs. If the plumbing is all old cast iron you need to think about redoing that too. It is usually easier to just gut the room and put in standard fixtures vs. expensive retrofit. That or cover it up. Call Bath Fitter lol
