  1. Hey it was slick. I decided to just drive up High St from Clintonville to Lewis Center this morning instead of f-ing with the freeways. Even so I was spinning em off lights in 2wd. Now, there was certainly the fucker in front of the line every now and then just blatantly going too slow. I find most of the 'not-us' folks tend to need that car in front of them to pace since they have no concept of momentum and road feels...or something to that nature.
  2. I know most people absolutely L-O-V-E the STMaxx tires. Very capable. Those house brand ones are probably also great. The STMaxx also come in 'pizza cutters' which a lot of people run. 255/85/16. Problem with them is the STMaxx are all absolutely heavy as hell. Only real reason they never appeal to me. edit: good comparison. Those CXTs might fit the bill! http://roadtraveler.net/mastercraft-courser-cxt/
  3. Theyre out there. Remember this one? http://www.columbusracing.com/forums/showthread.php?t=127242&highlight=beater+corolla
  4. I think its the truck. My buddy bought a 250 with Trail Grapplers on it.. I was like "dude your gonna die on those things" but he insists no trouble whatsoever. Meanwhile people with FJs, ect I know have been in some terrifying commute situations sitting on KM2s. I think that extra 2500 lbs. makes a huge difference.
  5. She hawt. So is it a black car underneath too? Or is the ass wrapped black?
  6. Its both. I think black any day of the week brings out the body lines and the most unique panel reflections by far, while on the other hand I think a silver or white is going to blend together more. You notice the differences more in the shape of windows, trim and openings on top of the lighter shades in those cases. I feel any color is just somewhere between these two conditions. For example a ruby red will give you more the effects black has to offer, while a lighter blue or green, ect will depend on the trim, openings, and other details and they will pop more. That is why I think black cars always look sleeker and more elegant. The specific details on black seem (to me) to simply visually enhance the bodywork of black vs they become an apparent feature or item on say, a white car. A sleek black Mercedes might very well look all the more elegant compared to its white counterpart. For example, a AMG with its high door lines and vents will show way more in white, and thus look more racey than sleek. In comparison, a new Civic SI might look odd with its bazillion facets in black, coupled with the chiseled lines blending with all the black vents and such. A white Civic SI is going to more proudly display those vents, which seem to be the main in-your-face styling of it. A dark blue might give the best of both in that case...show off these items, yet subdue the contrast a little. Look at that guards red Porsche posted above. I'd argue those black accents and window lines are really setting off the shape. I think if it were black it would look all the more sleek and low...bring the tall window openings down a little and such. Mt black FJ is another example I feel the white roof just capping it makes it a little less top heavy than a brighter one as the A-pillars just fade out into the blackness. You also get the convex reflective area where the doors curve into the windows creating a horizontal effect that is high, making the windows look even shorter, and as it continues over the wheel wells it accents them nicely, making the wheel wells look beefier and tougher...on the yellow or blue trucks you dont really see those features.
  7. Nah, give me black and white anyday. Sure an exotic Singer Porsche or something looks fantastic in retro green, ect.... but I tend to look at the lines, design, without color mattering most time...they tend to look best (to me) in black /white/grey.
  8. WANT https://akroncanton.craigslist.org/cto/d/beautiful-truck-1990-land/6510515969.html edit: I guess its the wrong trans though :/
  9. Yeah I went to look up a SLC300 thinking it was an option. $549 /mo for 36 months $4,915 due at signing. Fuck that.
  10. I have General Grabber AT2s. I got them because they were one of the few available in 295. I dont recommend them. Balance issues. In all reality if we were to use clamp on weights they would likely be ok. These softly sprung, generally light-weight trucks get finicky with heavy tires. That is why if you can get a C-rated tire it should help a lot. As far as my tires go, I only had a problem with mud once. To be fair, two trucks with MTs after me didnt make it up the hill either. It more comes down to if the truck has any offroad traction systems to help get up or out of things. (ATRAC, locker, ect) I try to avoid mud at all costs if I can anyway. I last went to Rush, KY back in September and I am still pulling mud out of places to this day. Yuck.
  11. Youll want ATs. The odds are good that when you get offroad it will be mud if you are anywhere around central-Ohio south. But, DD'ing a MT around here isnt ideal. Most of them are downright dangerous in snow/ice as well. I've been thankful this year I still have ATs driving the little one to daycare ect. Not worth the risk. Even so most guys swear MTs are somehow better when it gets slick out. Maybe they are, at least until salt is down and it isnt just snow anymore. What you should do is get a set of Duratracs. They are probably one of the most aggressive ATs that is also incredible in snow, but has big enough voids to handle mud. I think you can get them in a 'C' load rating to save some weight. Weight is what really ruins your daily driving experience, as the larger diameter alone doesnt really screw up gearing by much. 12. Those absolutely amazing versions were before the 80s though.
  13. well I learned something today So it was heated to just over 1200 degrees. I guess that means the 'powdered titanium' just stayed as powder? Maybe they melted together whatever was with it in the concoction?
  14. I didnt see this on here, so had to share. I think this is amazing. And beautiful. http://www.3ders.org/images2018/bugatti-develops-worlds-largest-3d-printed-titanium-brake-caliper-2.jpg http://www.3ders.org/articles/20180122-bugatti-develops-worlds-largest-3d-printed-titanium-brake-caliper.html I think this is the "old" one for reference http://st.automobilemag.com/uploads/sites/11/2016/11/2017-Bugatti-Chiron-caliper.jpg
  15. This could be fun if the fix is easy? https://columbus.craigslist.org/cto/d/1982-honda-prelude-first-gen/6497352165.html
  16. Same. We could just have like a half-dozen trucks with coffee in the trunk lol come to think of it, I dont think 400W will power a Keurig
  17. I think the KIA looks better than the G70 both inside and out. Inside of the G70 looks like a Chrysler product and the outside looks like a Civic SI banged a S-class.
  18. I don't mind swinging through the Olentangy Starbucks or the B&N one personally. Was never a fan of the Cup when it was there, although it was more a nice place to arrive early and sit for a few.
  19. and thank you!. No idea how to return iTrader ratings. It throws an error edit: got it. had to put more than 'thanks' in the details lol
  20. I get it..... Its like a balleresque triple-cab F250 minus the bed..... sort of. Congrats.
