  1. Hell these cars are not rare or even hard to find. They are a dime a dozen. The only reason this person wants mine is because it already has a 12 bolt rear and 3.73 gears and some susp work already done. The low miles does help and being a WS6 I guess is a plus.
  2. Yep what the hell its a nice car. Want to hear something funny. I just got an email from the want to be new owner his buyer backed out today on his car but he has another one lined up. He said he really wants my mine still. Whatever !!
  3. Its not going anywhere. This guy must of had to much time on his hands to do so much bull shitting with me. Nothing wrong with the car at all I was just tempted with the 15k cash offer. Do you know anyone with a 3600 or 4000 stall. Iam still on the stock tranny and it seems to shift strong and hard as of now.
  4. Today on one of the jobs where I was working I found a dollar bill then my wife found a five, so Iam now a collector. I actually have some 5 and tens us paper. Silver certificates.
  5. Ok so far he has not even contacted me. We have talked thru email and phone plenty of times. He was closing the deal on his car today he said. The day is not over yet I know. Might have to use plan B Buy bigger stall yank pt4000 Let Mr Hal install the stall Go faster 11.?? Be happy.
  6. tick tick tick >>>>>>>>> today is the day. Iam not banking on it though most everyone who I have talked to is just window shopping. Should know something today. I would think the vette is much easier to work. If it sells I might be needing a cam install on a 99 frc vette,6 speed Will see.
  7. I know where one is but it is rusty and for sale. At least it was their 2 weeks ago.
  8. 56 chevy handyman 2 door wagon. This is just one of many I have owned and sold. Still trying to buy this one back. Had a few 70 SS Chevelles that I wish I would have kept also. http://i216.photobucket.com/albums/cc178/1fstws6/56handyman.jpg
  9. If it all goes thru I promise not to be just another old fart in a vette. Iam not that old.
  10. LOL, sounds like one hell of a plan. Go for it.
  11. Um ok ... maybe I should have said Iam selling the WS6 for a vette what do you think . I was 99.9 % sure I wanted to do it. Just needed that 1% push.
  12. Then again who has 15k cash to spend on a play toy right now. A few but not many. Iam not getting my hopes up to far. The guy who want to buy it has a buyer for his car saturday and he has a non refundable deposite on it which makes it a little more convincing.
  13. 15k is about right for my car in these rotten times. I have turned down 14.5 and 15k in the past. The only reason my WS6 is running a 12.22 is because I have a stall that is not worth a shit. Iam pretty confident with a yank pt4000 stall I would be in the 11's but that does not really matter right now. It only has 28,000 miles and it is mint cond . V8 Beast sounds like a new ride is in your future.
  14. 2 hours of homework is a lot for your daughters age. What grade is she in ?
  15. will see what happens soon enough.
  16. Ok I just called the potential buyer told him he could have it . He said saturday he would have the cash. Now we wait and see how serious he is. Dam I might be without a play toy for a while, thats scary.
  17. Not really but a little push helps sometimes. I doubt I would regret it. Iam going to call my potential buyer that says he has the 15k will see what happens here. As far as the vette that I posted info about Iam not dead set on it it just seems like a well built car.
  18. If I was to keep the WS6 I was planning on installing a new built tranny and a 4000 stall and that was going to be almost 3 grand, just to ge me in the 11's. The vette is in the 11.80 range right now with cutting a 1.80 crap 60ft . I miss the 6 speed also.
  19. Decisions Decisions I have been kicking this around for a while. I just got an offer on my 01 WS6 for 15k cash.I have an itch for a heads&cam 02 Z06 The vettes have come down in price a lot. I love my WS6, but the vette is calling my name and I found one close that I like with a head /cam package with 453 rwhp and 410 tq. A lot has been done to it. Tires/Brakes/Maintenance: • Rear tires are Nitto 555R’s with about 6500 miles on them (about 60% worn). Front tires are Falken FK 452’s with about 500 miles on them. • Just replaced all brake pads and rotors about 4000 miles ago with NAPA OEM-style rotors and Hawk HPS pads. The car has very good stopping power with no fade or vibration. • Mobil One oil used every 3000 miles and either Mobil One or Pure One filter used. • Transmission and rear-end fluids changed about 6000 miles ago. • Spark plugs changed about 4000 miles ago. • K&N air filter cleaned about 4000 miles ago. Major Performance Modifications: • Magnaflow catback exhaust with catless x-pipe • Kooks headers • Halltech Cold Air Intake (CAI) • ASP Pulley • Hyperstat cooler thermostat • Patriot ported LS6 heads • Comp 228/230 custom grind camshaft Other Modifications: • SPEC Stage 3+ Clutch • Rebuilt transmission with upgraded parts (* see paragraph below) • Kirban shifter with C6 shift knob • Lowered about 1-1.5” on stock bolts (realignment has been done since lowering) • 4300k HID kit for low-beam headlight bulbs • 20% window tint • Shorty antenna • Z06 trunk partition
  20. I would be going but no way I could take a friday off this time of the year. Friday is my busiest day of the week in the spring. I need a bigger stall converter anyway before I hit the track. The converter I have now is holding me back big time. Next time I'm in.
  21. sorry to hear that news, My wife is a breast cancer survivor I know all to well how cancer affects the ones who has it and the ones who are close. I was not even sure if I wanted to do a reply because Iam still getting over my dads passing from cancer .That almost got the best of me. No history of it in his family. I dont talk about it much but it does you good if you can,so I myself understand why you made the post. It helps to get it out sometimes. You can PM me anytime . My name is Brian also.
  22. Some good info here. Just check your casting numbers before you throw parts on it. Small Block Chevy Engine Block Identification General Engine Block Specifications While 6 different bore size blocks have been produced, the small block engine can be classified into 3 bore sizes and 3 main bearing sizes. 283 blocks (3.875" bore, 2.3" main), 302/327/350 blocks (4" bore, 2.3" or 2.45" mains), and 400 blocks (4.126", 2.65" mains). In 1968 the main bearing saddles were increased in size from 2.3" to 2.45". CID Year Bore Main Cap 262 1975 3.671 2 bolt ONLY 267 1979 - 81 3.500 2 bolt ONLY 305 1976 - 96 3.736 2 bolt ONLY 307 1968 - 73 3.875 2 bolt ONLY 327 1968-69 4.001 (2.3" main) 2 bolt 350 1968-88 4.001 (2.3" main) 2 bolt 265 1994 4.001 (2.45" main) 2 bolt 302 1968-69 4.001 (2.45" main) 4 bolt 350 1968-96 4.001 (2.45" main) 4 bolt 400 1970-72 4.126 (2.65" main) 4 bolt 400 1973-80 4.126 (2.65" main) 2 bolt Notes: 2 bolt ONLY means what it says. You will NOT find a 4 bolt 305 block (made by the factory). Period. Otherwise 2 or 4 bolt can mean either design... Engine Code Stamping Numbers All engines are stamped with an engine ID code, consisting of assembly plant code, production date and suffix code. V8 codes are stamped on a pad just forward of the right side (passenger) cylinder head. 6 cylinder engines are stamped on the passenger side of the block behind the distributor. The engine date must precede the car build date, otherwise something is amiss. Some engine machining operations (decking) will obliterate the engine ID. Engine ID Code Example: V0101CLJ - (V = Plant, 01 = Month, 01 = Day, CLJ = Engine Suffix Code) Engine Plant Code Flint (Motor/6-cyl) F Hydramatic H St. Catherines, Ontario K (McKinnon Industries Canada) GM of Mexico M Saginaw Service S Tonawanda T Flint (Engine/V8) V Casting Clock On some Saginaw blocks, intakes and exhausts a "clock" was cast into the block. The clock is a circle of 10 dots, one dot for each hour of a shift (usually 10 hour shifts). An arrow points to the beginning of the shift an another dot outside the circle indicates what time of day the cast part was made. Anyways, that's what that circle thing is (if you happen to see it on something). Casting Date Small block casting date is located on driver side rear of block on flange forward of bellhousing. Big block on the right side of engine above the oil pan rails. Casting Date Example: E038 - (E = Month, 03 = Day, 8 = Last digit of model year (1978)). Month: A = Jan, B = Feb, C = Mar, D = Apr, E = May, F = Jun, G = July, H = Aug, I = Sep, J = Oct, K = Nov, L = Dec VIN Code Format The vin code format is stamped onto most engines. The format consists of divisional identification number, model year, assembly plant designation and vehicle serial or sequence number. In 68-69 model cars, the serial (VIN) number of the car the engine was installed in is stamped next to, or under the engine code ID. Starting in 1970, the serial number is stamped either above the oil filter, somewhere on the block pad (in front of the cylinder head), or on the transmission flange somewhere. Chevrolet issued technical service bulletins to indicate which engines were to recieve a vin stamp, so who knows what could have happend (or not happened). VIN code format Example: 13N100001 (1 = Chevrolet, 3 = 1973, N = Norwood, 100001 = Production sequence) Engine Block Casting Numbers Notes (for below): "High Power" is the maximum rate HP this block was used for, "Low Power" is the lowest rated horsepower RPO engine the block was used in. "Main Caps" is the number of bolts holding the cap. A "two-bolt" main, or a four-bolt main. Four bolt main blocks are desirable in high performance applications because the extra strength of the additional bolts keeps the bottom end rigid and less prone to failure. However, a properly prepared 2 bolt main engine will work just fine (often times you'll lose a rod bolt before you break a crank because it's "only" a 2 bolt main). 24. I have a commercial grade tree ballcart if you want to use it. I have moved some very large trees around with it. Two guys might be able to do it. You say they are 32 diameter if that is the top measurement and they are smaller at the bottom they might go on the cart. Its been a while since I have used it and I can not say for sure you could do it with out looking at the tree ball. I remember the last time I used it and it was for some large white pines.
