  1. I don't drink, and crowded bars with loud bands kind of kill any other conversation. It's just not my thing.
  2. Among various other sources of nightmare fuel from my childhood, Return to Oz was one of the freakiest.
  3. Don't care. Really, really don't care. It's one of the greatest scents ever made by man.
  4. Awesome restaurant. No one's suing them over health problems. The health warnings are the names of the food!
  5. Ok, was wondering what you were going on about. :lolguy:
  6. In. Though I probably won't be going to the bar/concert later. But it's been too long since I've been to Akai Hana.
  7. Was he supposed to put it in reverse and hit the guy behind him?
  8. They didn't take the MX-5's roof into account now that I look at it. But the BRZ is very close. It's only 2" taller than the Miata, but 3" shorter than the Genesis. The length measurements are correct, with the BRZ at 15.5" shorter in length. I think that picture is a lot closer than you think. Keep in mind that the seating postion in the BRZ is VERY low and the rear seats have almost no leg room. Low seat. http://media.caranddriver.com/images/11q4/431835/2013-subaru-brz-interior-photo-432161-s-1280x782.jpg Lack of rear legroom: http://www.seriouswheels.com/pics-2012/r-z-0-9/2012-Subaru-BRZ-Interior-1024x768.jpg
  9. Lots of guesses were going around. But really, that happens with every new car. Reporters are full of crap when it comes to facts and specs. The only thing for sure is the stuff that comes straight from the manufacturer. The presenter at NAIAS said 25K for the Premium, which puts the Limited around 27K. The FR-S is likely going to start around 23K-24K and gets optioned up from there.
  10. makes the Genesis look fat: http://cache.gawker.com/assets/images/comment/12/2011/11/54315dfab8135cd22a171db6dd144ccb/original.png
  11. Yes it is. Toyota brought the fuel, Subaru chipped in the block, and an unverified rumor says Yamaha did the heads.
  12. I'm just waiting for Chad @ Byers to give me the go-ahead and he'll have a deposit in-hand for a Black BRZ Limited. First year, New platform, etc does worry me a little. But as above, I expect production processes to be better developed these days. And working within walking distance of the dealership doesn't hurt either. Though I know this car would be fun on the Triple Nickel, I'm really just looking forward to having a fun car to drive as a DD. My old AE86 was a blast to drive even if it was a Deluxe with only 70hp and an open diff. I hope to have some of that fun again.
  13. Transmission and diff are Lexus units from the is300. Toyota also loaned Subaru their D4S Port/Direct Injection technology. (Turbo versions of this engine will be a wet dream for tuners since it has *8* injectors.) They also footed most of the bills. But yeah, Subaru did the bulk of the heavy lifting.
  14. It's looking like they're start showing up in May, for both the Scion FR-S and Subaru BRZ.
  15. Lots of back-halved FR-Ses. Good for cheap motors.
  16. Looked like he was having a lot of fun in that video.
  17. Someone is already swapping in a Lexus V8. I don't think a LS1 is too far behind.
  18. FR Layout 200hp/151tq 7400rpm redline 2762lbs fully optioned Designed-in low polar moment 18" CG height (lower than a 458 supposedly) 166.9" L 69.6" W 51.2" H 101.2" WB For comparison, a US E30 M3 weighs 100lbs more, made a little less HP, was 4" longer, 3" narrower, and 3" taller. The E30 also had a higher CG and a longer polar moment. The BRZ/FR-S has all the numbers to be a very fun car to drive. BRZ should start at 25K, the FR-S at around 23K. Final pricing hasn't been announced, but that's where the NAIAS presenters were saying the pricing would start. The BRZ is going to be sold as a more up-scale version, with Nav, HIDs, bluetooth, Rear LSD standard. The FR-S will start with just the basics and get optioned up from there.
  19. Gotta love his description of the track surface: "Smoother than Hugh Grant's post-coital chat."
  20. I think I will. Trading the spec.B for one. You should see the hatred on the Subaru forums. It's amazing.

  22. It's amazing (and in some ways unfortunate) that no one was killed in that perfect storm of stupidity.
