  1. We must be looking at different cars.
  2. Are you looking at the wheel gaps?
  3. Yeah, It'll probably the STI. The BRZ will be a little underwhelming for this crowd and the 818 probably won't be on the road until 2014. Now to find a navigator that won't flake out on me... ..and can drive stick..
  4. It sounds like registration fills up quickly for this. When should we start trying to register for 2013?
  5. Yes there is. They trade hyper-miling tips. There's even mod forums with people who increase the battery capacity and turn them into plug-in hybrids.
  6. Just remove the final \ at the end of the OP's link.
  7. This will be interesting. Chevy sued Daewoo out of existence for copying one of their various anonymous sedans. I don't think Ford is going to have any trouble doing the same to some cheap Chinese company for copying one of their iconic models. However. The political relationship between the US and China is very different than the one between the US and Korea. So will the utter crushing of this company be blocked by politicians who act like kindergartners in a playground?
  8. By this logic the Solstice and Sky are collectibles.
  9. If they could have summed up why NOT to buy this car in one sentence, this would be it. it's a *Jeep* that sucks off-road, and they compare its performance against other overweight, over-sized, SUVs. It's like saying "This Camaro might not win a drag race, but it's easily faster than your grandma's Buick!"
  10. They're trying to apply the Deadliest Catch formula to these shows.
  11. Frosted Mini Wheats. Not the bite size, or the stupid fruit filled, or any of the other silly stuff they've done to them, but the regular size where you get maybe 6 in a bowl. Good stuff and less sugar per serving than Raisin Bran. But the all time crack-in-a-bowl? Fruity Pebbles. :fuckyeah:
  12. 1:15 :lolguy: That's like Supa-Fly's goldfish platforms breaking. And again at 4:18
  13. I've already tossed the box and I'm sure they'll look at the broken shifter handle and tell me to pound sand.
  14. Update: This wheel is a piece of shit. Madcatz still has piss poor build quality. The right hand shifter started double-downshifting after just a couple days of use, and then the shift handle broke right where I thought it would. I'm NOT hard on my controllers. My MS Wheel lasted for YEARS. But this piece of junk failed within a month. Don't bother. Get a Fanatec. I'm just pissed that I lost $250 on this piece of junk and now I have to spend more of my BRZ fund for a reasonably good XBox wheel.
  15. The new Daytona Prototypes look SO much better.
  16. 8-1 today. :fuuuu: All overtime. :fuckyeah:
  17. This probably isn't a chop: http://i.imgur.com/Vq8yI.jpg http://www.interactivearchitecture.org/festo-upside-down-balloon-illusion.html
  18. I can see the evolution of this "sport" now. The favored setup in Prepared class will be solid bars instead of shocks in the back and air lockers so they can lift a wheel and spin it for the crowd then lock it and drive off. Open class will have the nose and fenders on adjustable mounts so they will scrape on the way into the lot, over the join and into the lot regardless of body angle. Air lockers will be used too, but instead of spinning the airborne wheel, they'll use independant braking systems to stop the upper wheel and do a burnout with the wheel still on the ground. And Farkas class is judged by who can teeter the most angle when they high-side on the top of the ramp and get all four wheels off the ground.
  19. Dammit... Forgot I can't speak my mind about my government any more. If I disappear, look for me in Guantanamo please.
  20. That's the whole point to these laws. They've always been able to do what I described. But in the past, they had to stand before a judge and justify their actions (in theory). Essentially these laws say "We don't feel we need to justify our actions to anyone." If their actions were in the right, then it shouldn't be a big deal to explain them to a judge and get approval. So why do they want to do these things without a judge's approval? Must be because what they want to do isn't in the right.
  21. So as things stand now: China can say "I don't like what you said" and force the whole website you posted on to be shut down. (ACTA) Then your name will be put on a watch list and the US government can then read your e-mails and listen to your phone calls. (Homeland Security) And if you say something THEY don't like, they can show up at your front door and toss a black bag over your head and drag you off to some place where no one will ever find you. (NDAA)
  22. An island surrounded by salt water? :dumb: I hear AZ has rust free cars. Also, anyplace that's a desert.
  23. Racecar Engineering had a great FSAE article. The amount of variation and downright MacGuyverism is pretty awesome. I also found it interesting how different regions of the world do things differently. For instance, US teams tend to develop aero and use wings more than Euro teams. One team used a De Dion rear axle to cut costs, while another used a 1/2 monocoque design to shave weight. So much cool stuff. I wish there had been a FSAE team when I went to college. I probably wouldn't have left.
