I love these pics. Obviously there are a lot of photos/movies from that era as it was one of the first wars where such was practical to use as a public relations tool. But usually the lack of color, quality, and/or the degradation makes it hard to really get a feel for how things actually looked. And Hollywood.. well, you can never trust them not to do some "enhancing". So to have these incredibly incredibly clear, and color, photos is just really cool in my mind as there's no doubt as to how things looked. It's like the visual equivalent of that 100 year old time capsule that was recently opened.

Ok, so this is not the new WRX, but the next turbo Impreza. There is still hope.

By divorcing the WRX from the Impreza, Subaru had the opportunity to go in a different direction. They are proud of their rally heritage, though the 08+ was a bit of a departure. With the WRC going to smaller cars, this was a chance to get the WRX back to its roots. Apparently that wasn't the plan, and that is where my disappointment lay. Not to mention, I think going after the 3 series market is a big mistake for quirky Subaru.

It's a lot bigger than I was hoping. It seems the rumors about Subaru looking to go upscale with the WRX models might be true. *sigh* They're clearly dropping any pretense of a rally car and going for "Sports Sedan". The production model will be toned down a bit. The big questions will be how much power it will make, and how heavy it is.

I should show up with the BRZ just to make some of you feel better. Actually, I'm considering giving up on the deadbeats at Innovate and going with a Vortec kit instead, so a baseline might not be a bad idea.

They were still cleaning it up as I was driving home at 5pm. At one point around 3pm or so most of 270 was solid emergency vehicles. You could have walked for a good 1/10mi or so going from rooftop to rooftop on ambulances, firetrucks, tow trucks, etc. No idea what happened, but it was one gigantic clusterF.

At the end of a Marathon some runners wouldn't notice a tornado bearing down on them. They're in something like a trance where they're mentally disconnected from their body, letting it just churn along mechanically. This really sucks though. My ex step mother runs in the Boston Marathon. I hope she's ok. Thankfully, the rest of my family doesn't attend.

No surprise. However, if wally world offered me a very large sum of money to plaster my name all over a bunch of shit, I probably wouldn't say no either.

"Herding Cats" comes to mind. At least the drivers WANT to be in grid. Imagine if they didn't.. It'll be fun to see if my earlier improvement holds up agianst a full field.

They're fakes (much like the physics in the games). There was a set of pictures on Reddit that someone took of the cars, one showing the Koeniggsegg (sp) with a caged seat and controls mounted to the back of the car. None of the vents or grilles in any of the cars have any depth, and none of the cars have fender liners. The movie may have some real examples for beauty shots, but the actual driving will be done with the fakes. Granted, that makes sense. Why risk millions on irreplaceable cars? But it's kinda irksome that they're being reported as the real thing.

Oh yeah. Huge improvement. I think I need a little more rear camber, but the car felt great.
