I'm not. My first post said I didn't blame her for getting the hell out of there. I blame her for mowing down a pedestrian she should have seen, and then nearly t-boning another car when she leaves. She shouldn't be driving.

Needs more low. :gabe:

Hey, you guys want to forgive her two potentially fatal accidents, go ahead. I won't.
-
Doesn't matter. If that truck has been a half second earlier she would have broadsided it right in the driver's door. If anything it was the truck driver's quick thinking that minimized the incident by steering right to avoid her.
-
The smart thing would have been to drive off in a controlled manner and NOT hit the truck. But hey, maybe endangering others when fleeing a mob is mandatory. I must've skipped that day of class.

I think the FedEx/Kinkos on Frantz next to Yoshi's does banners. no idea if the quality is any good, but worth a shot.

I meant for the Hit & Run, I have no problem with her getting out of there. But she just gunned it and put even more people in danger. As for the Jaywalking, the people in the crosswalk were crossing left to right from the driver's POV; you can see their shadows moving in the headlight. She would have seen them clearly if she had been paying attention to the road instead of whatever she was looking at. So, no sympathy for the driver. She's just as much of an idiot, or moreso, than the jaywalkers and mobs.

I'm kinda conflicted over this... The driver was an idiot for hitting that person and deserved having her car trashed in the least. But I don't blame her for plowing through the crowd to get out of there. BUT she hit & ran another car that wasn't involved, so I hope she gets the book thrown at her.

It's better looking.... But it still looks like a fat, bloated 911 that's been living off nothing but McDonald's.

Yup. The BRZ brings me more joy to drive to be honest. The STI is supremely competent. But after driving the BRZ I've come to realize how uncommunicative the STI is. Besides, depending on what I decide for the next project I may just end up with a pretty badass track rat.. Possibly. My bank is near there.

Thanks guys. I know this is going to be one of those "I wish I hadn't sold it" stories. But it's either this, or watch it rust away.

SOLD I hate doing this. I swore I would die with this car, but things are changing. I don't drive it much, and I could use the money to put towards my next Great Folly. So I'm seeing if there's interest in my STI. I'll be sad to see it go, but it's also sad to just see it parked in the garage. Stock knob is available, but needs repainting. (lent it to a friend and drove the sh*t out of it. ) I prefer the WC knob anyways. The Good: 27,500 miles. Saw only two months of winter roads and was garaged ever since. Paint is in excellent condition as is the interior. The engine only has a Cobb Stage 1 tune from 600mi; never flogged on the stock tune. No other power mods. The exhaust is just a cat-back. Brand new Dunlop Direzza ZII tires. Less than 500mi on them. The Bad: The rear suspension is a little noisy due to the Group-N tophats. The AccessPORT needs to be sent to COBB to get the dongle replaced. Mods: Exterior: Painted headlights and taillights. DOO EET!

Pads are here. No chamfers, no slots, nothing fancy. Just a block of pad material. Pretty business-like box too. Going to try and get them on the car and bedded tonight.

Want to add an STI to your stable? :gabe:
-
Yeah.. not entirely sure why. Probably just jitters due to it being a whole different level of risk/reward than what I've done in the past. I'm sure it won't be a big deal once I'm there.
-
Mine are on the way... I'm actually mildly nervous about this. Not sure why..

Where is everyone? 830 and only 4 cars. wimps.

Zero Tolerance is BS. It's just an excuse so people don't have to think. Ponder "Zero Tolerance" the next time you're cruising at 5 over on the highway.

What are you looking to do with the car? Mexico? Trails? AutoX? Mid-Ohio?

Iron Pony? I've seen 5gal cans of specialty fuels there before...

Considering how many people are running E85 on non-E85 rated cars, I'm surprised I haven't seen more of this, if it's purely E85 at fault. I'm thinking the top filter might have been defective from the factory to begin with, and the E85 hastened its demise. The good news is that this was discovered just as shops were working on a fuel starvation issue. So hopefully the solutions will include E85 hardening as well.
-
And yet a second car with E85 shows no signs of any issues. This on top of a number of other cars running E85 without issue either.

I'm often impressed by the variety of minds that CR brings to the table. So I thought I'd present this Mystery to the CR brain trust and see what happens. The scene: The Accused: The Defense: Summary: E85 stands accused of destroying a fuel filter and clogging a fuel system. On one hand we have a partially dissolved filter from a car that is tracked heavily running E85. And on the other hand, another filter that was sitting in E85 for months with no appreciable degradation. Is the Accused guilty? Or were there mitigating circumstances? Perhaps an accomplice? What say you CR?
