That's also something I've been wrestling with in my head. The loved the fact that the si didn't fall on it's face at high rpms like the vw does... but conversely, 25% throttle at 2.5k rpm in the si is useless, while the jetta accelerates nicely. Like I said, I'm not 100% sure I want to sell, but I threw it on a couple boards to see what might happen...

If you are not an scca member, then the weekend membership is included in the $35 registration fee. I don't believe you have to do anything above registering online. As far as classing goes... what modifications have been done?

Funny you say that, I was planning on test driving a MKV GTI also.

I have a ride for you. It's in the corral section. Rental fee is $15,000, and that comes with a signed title

I'm not 100% sure I want to sell, but I test drove an 06 civic si last weekend, and will probably pick one up if someone is interested in the jetta. To be honest, I love this car and have nothing negative to say whatsoever. Only real reason for selling is out of boredom. Details/The Good: Car is 98% stock. It has k&n filter, and I installed an R32 shifter (about 20% shorter than stock, nothing major). I've had it for about a year and a half, and have put about 20k miles on it (bought it with 39k, it now has just over 59,000) I get a solid 32+ mpg on longer highway trips, and usually see around 28mpg mixed driving over a whole tank. Highlights of the stock GLI package: - 12.3 inch front rotors, 10 inch rear vented rotors, red powder-coated calipers (all from Audi TT) - Eibach springs that are 20% stiffer than stock, 23mm RSB, 21 FSB, gas charged Monroe shocks, metal/rubber rear bushings, 30mm drop - 18" BBS RC wheels - votex aero package - Recaro seats - Instrument cluster with MID - aluminum pedals - brushed aluminim on dash The bad: - I am the second owner (was a lease vehicle previously). First owner had a very minor fender bender on the front right corner (as I found on the carfax). I checked everything very thuroughly, and it was fixed perfectly, and must have been very very minor. - Wheels have some wear and tear. They aren't in bad shape, but aren't perfect. - It has 60k miles, so rock chips, etc, are inevitable. There is also one decent size ding on the driver's side passenger door from someone who decided they could not control their own car door - I did run the car at a few autocross events last year. Because of that, the tires apparently were scrubbed in some wierd way, and are kind of loud. Plenty of tread left, and wear is even, they are just loud. The car has been a great DD for the past year and a half (I bought it feb of 07), just looking for something different. There aren't many of these cars out there, and dealers ask insane prices (usually around $18k). I'll ask $15,000, and am pretty firm on that. Title is in hand. Questions, you can contact me on here, or email (schafer.jerry@gmail.com). Here are a few pics. Exterior shots are mine. Interior shots are not actually my car (I can take actual pictures tonight), but mine is exactly the same, and 100% perfect. Anyway, here they are: http://i46.photobucket.com/albums/f122/jjschafe/jetta001.jpg http://i46.photobucket.com/albums/f122/jjschafe/KTV_5545sm.jpg http://i46.photobucket.com/albums/f122/jjschafe/untitledjpg.jpg http://i46.photobucket.com/albums/f122/jjschafe/7854158842_248056569_IM1_05_565x421.jpg http://i46.photobucket.com/albums/f122/jjschafe/7854158844_248056569_IM1_07_565x421.jpg

I'll be there... and the absence of a certain yellow crx means I might bring home a trophy for once

How much for a few pulls at IPS? I've been thinking about seeing just how old and tired my miata motor is, but there is no need for any tuning and such at this point. Soooo... cheapest place gets my business. Everyone can now fight over me. Ready....... go!

You've never had ramen unless you've been to a ramen place in Japan. I don't know what they do or how they do it, but $7ish for a bowl of ramen is well worth the money.

What happened to his car? It looked like a frozen caliper or something? What tires are you running? I thought most r-comps liked to be run at 30ish psi. I could very easily be wrong though.

Heh, I was going to complain about it being a course for the corvette's, but I guess Rich kind of screws up my argument Great driving Rich and AJ. I do agree that the bumps didn't upset my car too much. Probably more mental than anything when you are on the edge of grip and you bang into a bump. Craig - since you already have a spread sheet made, how about putting CR PAX class points in there? If you don't know already, the formula is: points = 100 - 900((competitor's time - winner's time)/winner's time)

Yup, 100% dry. I looked at the radar on my phone about halfway through the third run group, and it looked like a pretty strong set of storms stayed just north of us. The course was a lot of long straights and tight turns, which I wasn't too happy about at first, but it didn't drive too bad for my weak little car. Did anyone else think it was extraordinarily bumpy? I can't imagine driving a cart out there...

You passed me today as you turned onto Riverside off of Hayden. Car looks awesome...

What AT&T/Cingular phones do you recommend???

I've had the blackjack for a little over a year now, and I have been quite happy with it. Especially since I flashed to wm6. From what I have read, the BJII is not much different, just a few more bugs have been worked out. Obviously the iphone is the greatest piece of electrical equipment to ever grace the earth (sarcasm). But for those of us who hate apple and will never ever use itunes, it is useless and stupid. But in all honesty, I have read a lot of good things about it. -
If you're really interested in it, I would highly recommend going over to avsforum.com and running a search. There is tons info on that site about everything you could ever wish for.

Better than 10 things I hate about you? I'll have to make that call for myself. Seriously, can't wait to see this movie...

Jesus, most of what you post makes me want to stab myself in the eye so I can't read anymore. I do, however, agree that oakley's should only be worn during some type of sporting event or outdoor activity. That's why I rock these: http://sunglasses.go-optic.com/SUNGLASSES/images/rayban_RB3342_004.jpg

weather.com says there is a 30% chance your tires will go nowhere :bangbang:

I paid $26 for the OVR event... I am a baller, so the extra $1 doesn't affect me. Seems like the local club events always wind up on the same days as scca points events... I would love to come to one of these on an OVR "off" weekend...
