  1. Wow, I <3 this thread. I've never seen a non roadrace/autox forum actually give respect to the almighty miata. If you need a back seat... is it weird that I have always liked the Cadillac Allante?
  2. I tore these railroad ties out from my front planter like 3 months ago, and they have just been sitting on my front patio since then. I'm tired of looking at them and need them gone. I have no idea where they should be taken, but I would think $50 is reasonable to grab them? I'll help lift. I'm in Hilliard, btw. PM me if interested. http://i46.photobucket.com/albums/f122/jjschafe/IMG_0805.jpg
  3. http://www.putschracing.com/batmobile.php Feel free to read his bio if you feel like thinking he is a kind of beat dude (but with some cool cars).
  4. Backyard pic showing lack of drainage options... http://i46.photobucket.com/albums/f122/jjschafe/house2.jpg
  5. Unfortunately the backyard pretty much grades slightly towards the house. I'm thinking a gravel basin might be my only option. Dumb question, but what do I use to cut back blacktop? Heh, why do you think I started this thread tonight? I opened the garage about 10 minutes into the storm to give my gf a garage spot, and it was like the levee's broke, and my garage was New Orleans.
  6. I guess a picture would help. Here it is from the street. The grading is really horrible. The low spot is basically in the middle of the "T", but a little towards the garage. So it doesn't take much to get water to pool up against the garage door. Any easy/cheap ideas are MUCH appreciated. http://i46.photobucket.com/albums/f122/jjschafe/house.jpg
  7. So I've known since I bought my house that I have a driveway drainage problem. Turns out that flash summer storms flood it so bad that my garage takes on a fair amount of water... not good. So I guess that I would have two options. 1) Tear up driveway, regrade, re-pave. My driveway is really big, and this would be $$$ 2) Have a drain installed just outside of the garage door that runs the length of the garage. Obviously option #2 is what I am leaning towards due to I would assume a lower cost. Anyone know anything about doing this? Who would I call to get estimates?
  8. If it is truly no rust, sounds like a great deal. I'd like to see pics, out of curiosity. Can you either post them, or send them to (schafer dot jerry at gmail dot com)?
  9. Yeah, it's hard to tell from the video why people hate her. Literally, if you watch 1 minute of an interview with her, you will want to bang her head against a wall. There is no other way to describe it other than saying she is very very very unintelligent. Not like "oh, she's annoying," but literally, she is incredibely stupid. Like, low IQ stupid.

    Yard Waist

Along those lines... I have some old railroad ties that I pulled from out front planters a few weeks ago. They are BIG (read: railroad ties). Is there anything I can do to get them picked up curbside? My only guess is to saw them into small pieces and put them into yard waste bags. Or I'll have to take them to a drop off place, I guess?
  11. Jim Scott in the morning, Eddie and Tracy on the way home... Mike McConnel and Willy Cunningham if I happen to be in the car during the day. 700 WLW FTMFW.
  12. For those saying they will never race on it/don't care for it... it should be noted that the Arshot group has been VERY welcome to hearing the SCCA's wants/needs for the infield to be paved, so that we can hold autocross events there. Maybe you're still sitting there thinking "ok, but I don't care about autocross." But, at least realize that many members on this forum would benefit firsthand if this park goes through. Plus, as was mentioned, would you rather a private business, or a tax funded <anything>?
  13. Might want to check out the 2002 - 2005 civic si also. I haven't driven either (focus or si), but I have heard the overall fit and finish of the focus is lacking quite a bit.

  15. You have the internet? You have Top Gear.
  16. So I bought a new aluminum Ultrashield racing seat for the miata, and I need some help getting it mounted to a Corbeau slider. I have a pretty easy plan to do it... I basically just need two 1/4" x 1" x 14" strips of aluminum tacked along the bottom of the seat (running front to back). So... I have two questions for all of you lovely CR folks: 1) The seat is 5052 grade aluminum. Does it matter what grade aluminum strips I buy to have welded onto it? Or is any aluminum to aluminum OK? 2) Any of you amature welders up to the task for ultra cheap and/or free? (maybe some free beer? ) They don't have to be pretty welds, just welds that will safely hold.
  17. Damn, I would have taken the kirkey seat two weeks ago
  18. Wow, that 224 width is a pretty rare tire If you're looking for a good autox tire, I would highly reccommend either the Bridgestone RE11R or Dunlop Direzza Star Spec. Other contenders would be the Kumho XS (if you are working with a tighter budget), Hankook RS-3 or Toyo R1R. If I had to choose one out of that group, it would be the Dunlop.
