I was on T.V. in Florida in September while on vacation. We were on St. George Island when a storm blew through and waterspouts knocked down power lines across the channel from the mainland. We were without power for 2 days until they trucked in some giant diesel generators to run until they fixed it. While the power was out some local newsperson came by and interviewed my dad and I while we were washing off kayaks outside the rental house... I later saw the clip on the stations website.

So I'm wondering, are there any "hidden" or at least not horribly ugly cb antennas that work decently? I don't want to drill holes in the car, nor do I want a magnet-mount, and I don't want to waste my time with something that isn't going to give me reasonable reception. I was considering using a glass-mount ( sends signal through the glass, antenna components on inside and outside, maybe 18" tall ) but I'm wondering how well they work. I have 35% tint that I would likely cut a hole the size of the antenna base into before installation, so I want some advice before I take that plunge. A completely hidden antenna like those found on newer cars would be awesome, but I've yet to find much information on a product like that, and I fear that it would likely be pricey anyway. Also are boosters effective if using a relatively small-masted antenna? Anybody have any suggestions or firsthand experience? I'm sure there are some cb/scanner enthusiasts on here. I am by no means one of them, but I'd like to learn a little more before buying something that doesn't work or I don't need. Thanks in advance, -Scott.

+1 for AVS forum. When you go buy a tv, check for the model on there to find "tuning" for your particular model. Basically, it's what settings in the picture menu produced the best picture possible, as tested with light and dark meters, etc.... Shit is crazy over there.

LOL mlg. I used to play halo a lot but don't really at all anymore. In fact I just got rid of halo3 to get CoDWorld at War, although I still have halo1 and 2 . I went to school with the "ryan twins" of halo 2 fame in pickerington, and played basketball with them. Oddly enough they're damn athletic to be xbox nerds. I also played volleyball with the host of MLG events, Puckett, all the time. I can't believe all those kids are making decent money playing goddamn videogames.... I would maybe go to this event, we'll see.
