It's the passenger side. I know it's not an expensive part either way, but I'd like to go as cheap as possible, since it's for my mom and it will still need paint. Any hookup you might have would be appreciated, but if you don't have any luck it's cool.

Yesterday when it was really windy my mom apparently let her door blow into a 2003 Jetta and shatter/knock off the mirror cover. She left a note, and when the guy called back he was civil enough to offer to handle it outside of insurance. She asked me to help her find the part and get it painted (arctic green). Basically I'm looking for one locally if possible, or just somewhere I can order the cover cheaply. I know there are at least a few VW guys on here who might know of a cheap oem part-source, or maybe have one used? The mirror cover is for a heated power mirror, though they're probably all identical. I called Byers already and they want $59.00 for the part alone before paint. I'm hoping to find it cheaper than that and then have 360Iroc paint it for her. Thanks, -Scott

Speaking of giftcards, I talked to my Grandma the other day and she was telling me she bought a coat recently and it had $200 in giftcards in the pocket. I believe it was Kohls and Wal-Mart. Pretty awesome. I would guess somebody returned it after wearing it a while. To stay slightly on topic, I have also heard of people stealing giftcards from mailboxes lately. A guy on another forum I'm on had his car broken into, he filed a police report, and mentioned that the thieves left a pocket knife in the driver's seat of his car. The police later contacted him saying that they had arrested 2 guys stealing out of mailboxes the same night, and one of them admitted to having a pocket knife, but when searched it couldn't be found. Turns out it was in fact the same guys, having a few stereo headunits and giftcards in their car when arrested. This has been my 3:00am story, thanks.

5 year warranty here . Got the new guy at hhgregg ( where they haggle a little bit ). I asked him if the optional extended warranty/service plan started after the factory warranty or included it, and he told me it started after. Turns out it didn't, but the deal was made and they adjusted my paperwork accordingly for a full 5 years including bulb replacement.

I wouldn't buy anything that is Fusion brand personally, gotta be shit. Also, like others have said, just buy one that lets you plug your ipod into it. They have them with a plug in the faceplate, and some with harness that you can run from the rear of the unit to the glovebox, center console, etc. When I say harness I don't mean a headphone jack that runs to the receiver, I mean a full blown data cable that allows full control of the ipod from the headunit as though it were the ipod itself ( without burying it in the headunit...). It sounds like you may be new to car audio, and if you're just looking for something decent, check out the ipod control-capable head units from Pioneer and Alpine, they're both quality brands.
