I just got my new wheels on friday. My boost controller was off last night so that was 8.6 psi, sometimes I turn it up to 16 psi.

Car looked really clean from what I could see at 12. It did surprise me that it sounded as good as it did. It runs better than I thought it would, too. Nice car.

    Was that you on 70E?
  4. I agree The 4.8,5.3,6.0 truck motors are all good on boost. There are quite a few making 600+ whp with 20+psi on stock bottom end 4.8L, which always baffles me. They are a dime a dozen, so no one cares if they blow them, but it doesn't happen very often.

What do you have? I hope you get yours up to 100% before the rest of my plans go through.
  6. I work on garage doors, and for some reason nobody ever puts their dogs away when they call to get their door fixed. 99% of dogs back off if you don't, and I am in the dogs yard, on their turf. If I go somewhere where the dog doesn't seem to be backing down, I get my hammer out, and hold it by the head instead of the handle. I have only had to crack one once, but he got away fast. If I was in my yard, and a neighbors dog charged me, I would hold the hammer by the handle, and make their dog retarded with one swing.
  7. This one has a jack right on the front of it. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/06-10-GM-CHEVY-MALIBU-AMFM-CD-PLAYER-RADIO-MP3-20919616-_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQhashZitem25617e58d4QQitemZ160549460180QQptZCarQ5fAudioQ5fVideo#ht_2930wt_1167
  8. I always bring a full set of wrenches, and a craftsman 200+ piece tool set. I know that you didn't know that, but remember next time if you need them.
  9. My best was 12.22@109 with 1.83 60', I'm a little disappointed, but my brakes, can't hold it at the line at all any more. It's time to convert to hydroboost, I should have done it a year ago. I had a good time as always at the CR events, and it was nice meeting some new people.
  10. We just traded my wife 06 in on a 2011, and we really liked the car. We test drove a lot of other cars in the same catagory/price range (accord, malibu, camry, and couple more I can't remember) and it was the nicest overall by far. She drives mostly highway, so it averaged 30+. Plus she takes good care of cars, so we got $8500 on trade-in for it with 150000+ miles, and it still needed the timing belt/water pump done, and told them about it.
  11. It was good meeting you the other day, if you decide on the track day I will see you there.
  12. Has anyone here ever sent a turbonetics turbo back to them to have it rebuilt. I was wondering if anyone knew how long I will have to drive my service truck from work until it gets back. The seals are leaking in mine, and it has a lot of play all of the sudden. It is still covered by the warranty, because it is only 6 months old, so it will be a free rebuild.
  13. Stock brakes on a porsche at the auto show. http://i155.photobucket.com/albums/s316/brent1976_photos/2011-03-19114255-2.jpg
  14. I like how people say f1 or nascar doesn't do it. The brakes on those cars cost more than my truck, and anyone else in this threads car together. It's not exactly a machined hunk of cast iron like oe stuff is. I would get a set of rotors from the dealer more than once a year when the truck was a completely stock 4.8L. These have been on for almost 5 years, and no problems. I think this is the problem with most drilled and slotted rotors that crack/warp. http://www.baer.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=323:rotor-seasoning&catid=209:technical-information&Itemid=4
  15. Oh yea, I like them on the porsche.
  16. Have you ever had experience with drilled/slotted rotors? I'm not arguing, but I always see you saying they're shit. Mine are 5 years old, and have no cracks, and are not warped, on my heavy ass truck, with lots of hard, hard miles. My brakes never fade, ever, but did bad after a good slam on stock brakes. Mine were not cheap by any means, but I have had 0 problems with them.

At least once a week I go for an hour long drive, just because it is such a blast to drive. It's usually back roads, balls out, whenever possible.

I could replace anything on my truck with something from a junkyard, and have it out tomorrow. The only thing that could cause me to wait is the turbo, and it would most likely give me enough warning for it to not be a problem.

I totally disagree with this statement. You just have to build it to take what it will do plus half on top. Unfortunately, not all vehicles have the after market to do this.
  20. I just found a beastie boys cd from highschool and put it on my ipod the other day.
  21. I have 2 10"L5s, with a 1000bd in a regular cab truck. I haven't turned it up in a long time, but I remember it being too damn loud to sit in the cab. Never mind, I just read all the rules.
  22. I will be there if work doesn't get in the way.
