    Taxes

Same withholdings, but this year's refund is less than half the amount of last year's. And as mentioned before, this is the first time in YEARS that the standard deduction has given me a better result than itemizing.
  3. The most recent gen have an Alfa Romeo chassis. Always kind of thought they were interesting for that. Previous Daimler versions - snooooooze.
  4. Because people who buy appliance cars like these don't keep them around past the warranty period. And people who buy used appliance cars like these don't do any homework.
  5. Even the OVR has lost almost every single space they used to race in. All that's left that will accommodate a 100-car grid is the paddock at National Trail, and it's AWFUL. Full of cracks and chuck-holes, and you can watch the pavement peel back in the brake zones over the course of a day. OSU Ackerman was pretty nice - ESPECIALLY nice in comparison. But the new construction there means the lot is in use on the weekends, so that one's out. SPARC would be amazing if somebody would shake a leg.
  6. Good to hear. I pretty much take everything to Discount Tire in Hilliard. Lots of car enthusiast employees over there that know how to handle things. Plus it's like 3 miles from home, so...
  7. Heck, you could probably find a great Coyote S197 for that budget (2011-2014).
  8. I'll have to come down on the 12th at Highlights. I think you were here once before but I was out that day...
  9. I seem to remember seeing some YouTube footage of this a while back. It's definitely out there.
  10. Even as hard as you can go in a street car is slow for an Indycar on the same circuit. Pace car drivers have to hustle, or the race cars can't get temp into the tires, making for an unsafe start. Indycar drivers will back off and rush forward periodically during the pace lap to generate more heat. Mark Reuss has driven the pace car at Belle Isle many times in the past. So he's no stranger to this; I guess he's just not savvy enough to handle 755 horsepower on street tires on a nasty surface like Belle Isle.
  11. The "celebrity" was Mark Reuss, a GM executive.
  12. In for pics and results - but I'll be at NTR for the SCCA double-header that weekend.
  13. I've owned 2 of them (both 3-door versions, though); really well-built little cars. That SVT Zetec is a great engine; just hums up to 7300, never feels like it's working. It likes the revs. MPGs aren't that great; I averaged about 26, and it requires premium.
  14. +1 - the Focus ST is about the most fun per PRACTICALITY dollar you can get, and it HAULS on an autocross course - pretty much dominates in GS with zero modifications. I'm 6'4", and I don't feel cramped in mine, even with the sunroof; I get more bumps on the knee on course in my Mustang than the Focus. Mine has just over 50k miles with no problems. It's not really something you want to drive for a quarter-mile car, or a highway-pulls car, but it does everything you need a daily driver to do, looks nice, and does it with a modicum of fun.
  15. Aww; I couldn't get a baseline with the Viper because it was all donuts and DNF'S [emoji6]
  16. Hey, I think I drove around that Porka in my hairdresser car...
  17. NOTE: SCCA has cancelled the April 14 event because of a conflict with the NTR location on that date. They are trying to add more dates to the schedule since they have had to cancel the first 3 events due to weather or facility problems. ALSO I think the June 2 date is a drivers' school, not an official autocross event.
  18. There were some notes in the article like ...but it IS an old article. This article was way too hung up on fuel economy...
  19. At least the Detroit people generally get out of your way. Because most of them are going 95 in a 60 at all times...

    Indy 500

I went to the Indy Grand Prix last year, and have already bought tickets to the 500 this year. I always choose infield lawn seating because you can move around anywhere you like if you aren't happy with your sight lines - unlike grandstand seating where you are stuck with what you get. I have no idea where I'll sit, but we'll be there on Saturday for Legends Day, so I'll get plenty of chances to find something that works before race day.
  21. Inspection is done by your local registrar when you register it yourself. Basically just a VIN check.
  22. I bought my Bullitt from a seller in Indiana. And yeah - did you have a question?
