  1. Wooden Shoe Coffee and Java Brava, right off the top of my head...
  2. No way to know for sure, but mine aren't as far down as those were, and I have a season and a half on them, with a little daily driving scattered in there, too.
  3. One of the guys in the OVR was running 71R's on his WRX, and they were pretty much worn down to slicks - and he was still basically dominating the STU class on them. They do get a little greasy when hot, so keep a bottle around to cool them off between runs.
  4. I'm running Hankook slicks on the Roush these days, which seem pretty stout. I HATED Hankook's street tires though. I'll second or third the 71R's though - those things grip till the end, and they get even stickier once they break in a little. They start out at 200 treadwear, but hang on like something WAY softer. I went a couple of seasons on a set before I switched over to slicks, and I can't really ever see myself going with anything less for a summer tire again.
  5. We've been breaking struts and shredding tires with the SCCA for 2 years on that lunar-crater parking lot they have out there now. New pavement on the lot might just make it a good autocross venue for a change...
  6. If it's Ford Racing parts, installed by a qualified dealership, it's covered.
  7. Just bought a Focus ST last month for the wife, and it's a barrel of monkeys to drive. The ST 1 kind of sucks, the ST 3 is overkill, the ST 2 is just right. Same power train on all, but the option packages are the difference.
  8. They are open to anyone and everyone. Everyone who runs can acquire points toward the championship in their respective class for the season, but if you don't care about that, then it doesn't matter. Show up and drive!
  9. Also Dragway 42 has added several autocross events to its schedule this summer: Sunday, May 21 Sunday, June 4 Sunday, June 25 Sunday, July 9 Sunday, July 23 Sunday, August 6 Sunday, August 20 Sunday, September 3 Sunday, September 17 Sunday, October 15 https://www.dragway42.com/schedule/ Really no idea how or by whom those will be handled, but could be fun.
  10. OVR-SCCA just released their schedule last week - everything is at NTR at this point: Fun Event 1 - April 1 Points Event 1 - April 15 Points Event 2 - May 14 Points Event 3 - June 3 Points Event 4 - June 4 Drivers School - June 24 Points Event 5 - June 25 Points Event 6 - July 23 Points Event 7 - Sept. 16 Points Event 8 - Sept. 17 Points Event 9 - Sept. 30 Fun Event 2 - Oct 1
  11. Front subframe bolts always spin on the Cougar/Contour CDW-27's. The procedure is always to just pull up the carpet and go through the floor. Luckily there is an indentation there to show you exactly where the access point is. I would think that GM would do the same thing if there were a possibility of this happening.
  12. I've found that TR's regular price stuff isn't really much different, and your advantage goes away with shipping charges. However they often have very good promotions/rebates, and that's when I usually jump on something there. I always include them in my shopping list just for that reason. Sometimes it's a better deal, other times it isn't. And sometimes Discount Tire will be able to match whatever they are offering, so it's a moot point.
  13. THIS. Or the 40 TW category, even. I have a pretty good working relationship with the guys at the Hilliard Discount Tire, since I take so much business over there, and they all geek out when they get to mount up race slicks for a change. 9 times out of 10, if there is a tire I want, they can find a way to get it directly, so I haven't used Tire Rack in a while.
  14. I'm not really a typical tire buyer, but I had them send my order to an NTB once and installed there, which was fine. But that NTB went out of business, so that's off the table now. More recently I just have them sent to me, and take them to my shop of choice.
  15. Since they built the new building, its occupants are parking in the Ackerman lot on the weekends. Before that, the lot was empty on weekends, so it was a good location for the SCCA. Last I heard, they are still ironing out the details with the new owners of NTR for the 2017 season, and have some other potential spaces for events later on in the season.
  16. Roush is in for an engine swap right now. Hope it's ready for season start, or the Bullitt will be getting a little track time on street tires.
  17. 1.5 is pretty stout for a 3-cylinder; the 4-cylinder in my Abarth is 1.4. People speak highly of Ford's 1.0 3-cylinder in the Ecoboost Fiesta; I'm looking forward to seeing the US numbers on this thing. Too bad about that 3-door; ALWAYS choose less doors
  18. I don't think I've ever seen a turnout that large at C&C. That was remarkable
  19. The Ford GT'S looked amazing, but that 911 gave'em a really good run in the closing minutes. I really wanted to see that Ferrari take second...
  20. Yeah it looked to me as if the 5 tried to pinch the 10 out on the inside and it backfired on him.
  21. I'm watching on and off today. Won't really be all in until about noon tomorrow. Fox Sports Go has everything, including some good in-car feeds. Watching on Roku.
  22. Totally jealous. My Bullitt needs a Coyote swap.
  23. Sorry 'bout the misunderstanding; I was mostly providing context, not really spoiling. I mean, anybody who has seen Star Wars knows WHAT happens; the surprise and delight comes in HOW it happens. And I don't think context spoils any of that. On topic - really enjoyable film, and just forces home what a lame director George Lucas is. Anyways, carry on.
  24. Sweet! What color? (I could use some new front fenders, thanks to shopping carts at Target...)
