  1. United Ford Owners just released their dates for 2015: May 31 June 21 July 26 September 6 http://www.unitedfordowners.com/Calendar/
  2. A Zetec or a Duratec. The 2.0 SPI single-cam 4-cylinders are unreliable. The 2.0 Zetec is olllld tech, cast-iron, very reliable - but has a timing belt that needs to be serviced every 90,000 miles or so (although it's not an interference engine, so it's not a deal-breaker). The all-aluminum 2.0 and 2.3 Duratec use a timing chain instead, and are probably the better choice of the two. Every Focus from 2005-on used a Duratec, so unless you are looking at a 2000-2004 model, it won't even be a factor.
  3. I've been using TurboTax every year, ever since I started doing my own returns, except for the first year when I used the H&R Block software. No complaints; very easy to use, and points out tons of deductions that I would never have known about, so refunds have been pretty consistently good. I set up my mom with a copy, and it drove her insane. So I guess it's subjective.
  4. My grandma, who is in her 80's, has been driving a 92 Grand Marquis for EVER. Little things broken (passenger's power window failure) but it indeed cannot be killed. She's actually selling it now for around $1200 - but that doesn't help you out in Florida...
  5. Same here - was going to pick up the Cooper and it sold about 30 minutes before we arrived. Ended up with an Abarth instead.
  6. Tuco is a riot. The outrageous laughter as he smashed those kids' legs was hysterical. Fun show so far!
  7. The diff will grenade if you spin the tires too much, though...
  8. Easy to fix, cheap to maintain. The DOHC's do have a tendency to be oil burners, as mentioned. It's often said that they get that way when oil change intervals go longer than 3-4000 miles, and the rings get coked up because they don't have proper drainage channels in them. So change the oil often.
  9. Doin' endos at every Stop sign. :lolguy: http://i282.photobucket.com/albums/kk263/staceydodds/Cartech-Abarth-500-Coppa-Seitenansicht-Bremsmanoever-19-fotoshowImageNew-4053ac9e-565043_zps555da2f5.jpg
  10. When I was a kid, my grandparents bought a new car and they gave their old one to my mom - a 1976 Mercury Comet with a 302. That's the car I inherited years later when I got a driver's license. 4 months later, I oversteered into a ditch and flipped it. Looked a lot like this one: http://25.media.tumblr.com/30c844999830c6424303786b8ccd778c/tumblr_mu6pi9U3ks1qzut9po1_1280.jpg http://assets.blog.hemmings.com/wp-content/uploads//2010/06/comet.jpg After that I bought a silver 1980 Chevette for $300. 4-door, 4-speed manual. Drove that thing until it hit 200,000 miles and sold it - for $300. No depreciation! Looked a lot like this one, except silver, and with a roof rack: http://www.classiccarstodayonline.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/06/Chevrolet-1980-Chevette.jpg
  11. It's tricky to get them in just right, so you need someone who knows what they are doing. I'll second Brady at PPC. My Bullitt originally came with 3.73's from Ford, so I didn't have to have that done.
  12. Forgot about gears; that's a big one. Even though they don't MAKE more power, they use what power you have more effectively on the bottom end. Really ups the seat-of-the-pants factor.
  13. It just doesn't work. I tried them when they were handing out small samples of it in a cup on a bed of rice a while back, and they tasted good. But once they put them on a burrito in quantity, it just doesn't hold up.
  14. I can get behind this. Love the noises the VR makes.
  15. The Sofaritas are pretty terrible.
  16. Seriously! I've had an iceberg the size of a large pizza slide off the top of a vehicle ahead of me and smash into my glass a time or two. Pretty terrifying scenario.
  17. The new ones have just a tiny bit of Porsche in the design. I agree, they do look kinda sweet, especially with the steelies and baby moons.
  18. Not Brian has a Coyote. I just have a 3-valve
  19. Acura has been shooting blanks for so many years now, they have a lot of catching up to do. Plus, they have been trotting out this same NSX concept for like 3 years now with little to no perceptible changes, so it's pretty old news. Not to mention they won't reveal any powertrain specs...
  20. Do you mean Mazda CX-5? Because that's WAY different than a Mazda5...
  21. The MSRP of the GT350 came in a lot less than most were expecting... they could surprise the world again.
  22. 99% chance he lifted throttle abruptly as soon as he started getting sideways.
