There was a report in October that he would absolutely be leaving so it surprised me too. At this point he has to feel invincible in Tallahassee so why move on to the real world where the TPD won't be there to save he and his teammates' asses.

Interesting. FootballScoop tweeted a little bit ago that they should have some good news for UM regarding a couple hires maybe sometime today. Also, starting to sound like Jameis Winston is going to stay for at least one more year at FSU. Guess that eliminates one of the 8 schools Braxton will be playing for next year. :lolguy:

Here's a full breakdown of that run with some of the GIFs where he's just a blur... http://www.elevenwarriors.com/ohio-state-football/2015-sugar-bowl/2015/01/47519/film-study-ezekiel-elliotts-85-yard-sugar-bowl-clinching-run

I know he's from Gahanna or something so are you hearing something locally? Michigan people have given up on him. Locked threads about him on their message boards. Yesterday or the day before there were rumors that he was talking with former Michigan TE commit Chris Clark about both of them going to Michigan but then it came out this morning that Marrow was sticking with UK. In some of the gifs people have posted of it you can't even see Spencer. He's a blur. Poor freshman LB for Bama never saw it coming.

I tried a few different cases when I had my HTC One and finally landed on a Diztronic from Amazon. Basically went with the same thing when I got my Note 4 a couple weeks ago... http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00PUXOEKE

I was reading that the title game was possibly going to feature home jerseys for both teams and thought the exact same thing... Oregon/Nike wanted more Nike jerseys to get into circulation. Then I saw the little sneak peek at Oregon's jerseys yesterday and that pretty much confirmed it. Both wearing homes would have been cool.

That's definitely a little bit of help that the OSU defense didn't have 4 years ago. On a Michigan-related note, 3 assistants Harbaugh was after have turned him down. Kentucky recruiting coordinator/TE coach Vince Marrow was a big target for Michigan. Huge recruiter in Ohio. Staying at UK. Then 2 Stanford guys... their DC Lance Anderson and their strength coach Shannon Turley. Both staying at Stanford. Urban allegedly swung and missed on some assistants early on too but he was going after big-time guys who hadn't worked with him before (Chavis, Morris, Stoops, etc.). These are guys Harbaugh has worked with before. This would be like Pantoni, Marotti, etc. not leaving Florida to join Urban when he came to OSU. A little strange.

That's one of the downsides of a relatively quick turnaround between the semifinal and the final. When OSU prepared for Oregon 4 years ago they had time to get conditioned. Tressel had the 1st team defense out there and they went against the 1st, 2nd and scout team offenses. They would just platoon in one after the other to try and simulate the tempo of the Oregon offense. I thought that was genius and it's not really doable on short notice. Especially with the team recovering from a slugfest with Bama.

Did you watch the "Finebaum's Film Room" version on the SEC Network last night? I didn't get a chance to record it but some friends told me about it. They actually had a live call-in show with Paul Finebaum and some other SEC people doing commentary with the game also being displayed on the SEC Network on Thursday night. From what I read it's highly entertaining. Bama people were calling in and freaking out before halftime. It's airing again on Monday night and I have it set to record. Should be a good time. I noticed it too and thought it was strange but then I thought... who can help Cardale more? JT or Braxton? JT played 11 3/4 games with this team. He knows them much better than Braxton does as far as how they're going to act in game situations. So JT was right there behind Cardale on the bench the whole night. I wouldn't have minded seeing Braxton sitting there with them but JT being there was much more useful to Cardale. I'm all for piling on FSU (it's insane some of the stuff that seems to have gone on there over the last year or so that's just been swept under the rug) but they were congratulating Oregon/patting them on the back or on the backs of their helmets for the last half of the 4th quarter. When the game was officially over there were no more congratulations to be given out. I just had the exact same thought while taking a shit. I was trying to think of why Urban was able to beat Saban this time around and it was right there... a very serious threat at RB. As was pointed out over and over and over again, Urban never had a 1,000 yard RB until last year with Carlos Hyde. And Carlos did it in basically 10 games. Now he's got Zeke who has over 1,600 yards on the year with over 1/4th of that coming in 2 post-season games. In 2009 vs. Bama, Florida had 4 carries by players not named Tim Tebow and they didn't break 100 yards as a team. Even in 2008 when Florida beat Bama Tebow was the leading rusher and the team didn't break 150. Zeke went for 230 and as a team OSU had nearly 300 yards vs. Bama on Thursday night.

I think I read most of the posts from tonight and don't think I saw anyone mention the roughing/running into the kicker thing. I was pretty upset because OSU was just in a stalemate of shitty field position there for a looooong fucking time and that would have given them a little breathing room to try and extend the lead. Urban's reaction was on par with my own... http://giant.gfycat.com/DependableHastyAsiaticwildass.gif

Another thing people have been pointing out... under the old system we likely would have been seeing FSU-Bama for the national title. Now, in a playoff system, both of those teams will be watching from home.

B1G had a great day. Wisconsin took out Auburn, MSU pulled a Baylor vs. Baylor and of course Ohio State punching their ticket to Arlington with a 3rd string QB vs. the Fighting Nick Saban's. Urban remains undefeated at OSU as the underdog. Seeing -7 for the title game. Overall this whole thing is just incredible.

Can we maybe not toot our own horn too much before our game is even played? Everyone knew Ole Miss was garbage. TCU is playing with something to prove. Simmer... I will say I really like TCU's uniforms. Being from Pickerington you grow to love some purple. Plus they look pretty unique. Not a cookie cutter copy of some other Nike crap. Love the color on the facemasks.

Fixed.

I've been pointing it out to my A&M and Nebraska friend and they thought it was just me being an asshole OSU fan but it's borderline annoying as an OSU fan to be honest. Watching the A&M game on Monday and they were talking about Meyer vs. Saban and then looking forward to Meyer vs. Harbaugh. I haven't seen a single commercial for the Rose Bowl. I finally saw some Rose Bowl coverage last night on Sportscenter after the games but Herbie and Davis or Fowler (get them confused - they're both turds) are in Pasadena then every other CFB person for ESPN is in New Orleans. It's crazy. Also, someone mentioned ND's lack of defense... during the game they pointed out the injuries they've sustained on that side of the ball this season. Was something like 17 or 24 injuries, a bunch of them season-ending and only 3 of their defensive players have played in every game. I was wondering what happened to them to make them go 1-5 after starting 6-0 and that helps explain it in addition to Golson turning the ball over a billion times.

Everyone was waiting for a guarantee and someone eventually just asked him about it and he said the programs are so good (MSU and OSU) and he made a guarantee in his past that didn't pan out and he's learned from that so no guarantee vs. rivals. SOUNDS LIKE A PUSSY BITCH TO ME. Something interesting I read last night... Harbaugh and Meyer were born in the same hospital 201 days apart. http://www.13abc.com/story/27724405/jim-harbaugh-and-urban-meyers-hospital-ties-in-toledo Also, Urban tried really hard to get on Saban's staff when Saban was at Toledo. Cell phones weren't the norm back then so Urban had to track down Saban's home number and spoke with Saban's wife for a while and felt she was sold so he told Shelley they were going to Toledo. Saban never called him back and Urban ended up coaching WR's at Colorado State for a while. Apparently Saban's wife likes to remind Nick from time to time that she was right and he was wrong. :lolguy: http://www.nytimes.com/2009/12/05/sports/football/05coaches.html?_r=1&

They'll do with Cooper what they did vs. MSU and Lippett. Grant will follow him all night and have safety help from time to time. They didn't get killed by Langford and the run and Grant shut Lippett down. Their other guys burned OSU early because Apple was dinged up and they had Conley out there but Apple eventually went in and it was done. Apple is 100% for this game and the DL played an incredible game vs. Wisconsin (not just Bosa - Washington has been quietly great over the last few games and Bennett was an absolute monster). Cooper is obviously better than Lippett but Grant has to see this as a great opportunity to increase his draft stock vs. a top 10 pick. Bama will probably put up an MSU-like number on offense. It's going to come down to OSU being able to put up what they did vs. MSU on Bama's defense. What worries me most is the same thing that worried me going into the Wisconsin game... at some point OSU's backup/3rd string QB is going to look not amazing. It has to happen right?

Similar to all the contract talk when Urban was hired here. I think a lot of the early reports had him above $6m/yr then it ended up being around $4.5m/yr to free more cash for assistants.
-
Harbaugh will probably get a handful of relatively elite players to flip/commit to Michigan before signing day and have to scramble a bit to fill the rest of the class. Apparently he already committed a recruiting violation by somehow contacting OSU commit Mike Weber or his family before signing his contract. If he went to Weber that quick who knows who else he called.
-
That's the biggest thing. He'll need a deal like Carroll got to go back where he has complete control. Harbaugh going to Michigan kinda puts things in perspective as far as football coaching jobs are concerned now... 1. NFL head coach with total personnel control 2. Head coach at a blue blood college football school 3. NFL head coach without total personnel control
-
Lots of people said the same things about Urban when OSU hired him and I don't get the sense he's going anywhere anytime soon. Harbaugh is over 50 now and Michigan is his alma mater. I don't think it's out of the realm of possibility that he sticks around for a while.

Those 3rd down/4th down calls in the 4th when they were down 3 pissed me off. First, they killed their own momentum a bit by calling a timeout. Then they come out and throw a pass. The whole time I was like, well... just run it twice and get the first down. The line says they're in their kicker's range but it would make sense to get closer. They come out of the timeout and throw a pass. Incomplete. So I was like, alright, guess they trust their kicker. Nope. They run a jet sweep on 4th and 3 with Pierson-El and that's pretty much game. If you're going to go for it on 4th why are you throwing a pass on 3rd and 3? Run that jet sweep on 3rd and 3. Do anything other than what you did on 3rd and 3. I was watching with my Nebraska friend and I think I was more upset than he was. Probably because it reminded me a bit of OSU's 3rd and short call vs. MSU in the 2013 B1G title game.

Harbaugh to Michigan is all but announced at this point. John Bacon came out on Twitter and said it's done and that's about as official as it can get before contracts are signed and he gets introduced. Michigan's basketball game on Tuesday had tickets going for $20-25 earlier this week and all of a sudden they're going for over $120 just to get in as that's when most people expect to get their first look at Harbaugh in Ann Arbor. While this obviously doesn't have the same story as Woody vs. Bo it could certainly turn into something that iconic.
