He didn't take the SMU job, maybe just because it was so early and he wanted to focus on the rest of the season, but I'm not real worried about Tulsa. Houston is the team I think I'd be most worried about.

Yeah, I didn't know what to make of that tweet. Maybe Urban and his staff didn't get a good vibe from Harris last night and decided to have Weber go public with his commitment. Main targets left in this class... 4* DT Neville Gallimore 3* DB Juwuan Briscoe 3* WR Lawrence Cager OSU did reach out to current Wisconsin 3* TE commit Kyle Penniston once they learned of Andersen's departure. Urban loves poaching kids from schools dealing with coaching transitions.

Weber committed on Sunday to Drayton or Coombs over the phone then confirmed that with Meyer and Coombs in person at his school on Monday. That's when the ND/OSU official visit switch happened. Didn't think he'd announce so soon (thought maybe this weekend on his visit, possibly hold off until his all-star game).

Umm... Gardner is the only reason the last 3 games weren't absolute blowouts. Denard couldn't throw in 2012 (he ran well in the 1st half of course) because of his injury so Gardner had to. Gardner had 461 total yards and 5 TD's last year and hurt himself in the game but played through it. Then this year Gardner once again had his best game of the season vs. OSU. Hopefully someone points that out to those people because he deserves a ton of credit and respect for what he did in his time there with clearly subpar coaching. Michigan isn't bad to recruit to though. Hoke was a great recruiter for about 2 1/2 years but kids stopped buying what he was selling this year after seeing the product on the field continue to decline despite highly rated classes. Their class this year is supposed to be pretty small anyway so whoever does come in won't have a an abnormal amount of work to do to close it out as long as they get someone relatively soon. I think you can take the kids who have decommitted from this year's class from Michigan and put together a top 20 class with them. 5* WR George Campbell, 5* RB Damien Harris, 4* TE Chris Clark, etc., etc., etc. So they can get them there. It's just a matter of coaching them and actually progressing each year instead of regressing as Hoke's teams did.

As for JT... dude isn't even on crutches/in a walking boot. He's on a scooter with a standard cast. I don't see him attacking someone.
-
Maybe they'll exhaust all their options like they did last time and end up with... Brady Hoke. :lolguy:

McKee never got an offer. He's kind of a tweener. OSU kept him warm in case they had to fall back to him but with a LB class of Conner, Hilliard and Baker there was no need to fall back. Nick Bosa will be a Buckeye. That's already decided, just not announced. It's too bad Joey is so good he is 100% gone after next year because it would have been awesome to see 2 Bosa's out there at once. As for Sweat... everyone thinks it's FSU or VT so OSU is a dark horse here but I read some stuff that made it sound like there's a chance. We'll know in about a half hour or so. OSU didn't have a Sweat-like guy on the DL this year. It would have been Noah Spence but we all know how that went. Edit: And there it is... FSU for Sweat. Had to think if it really was between FSU/VT it would be FSU. VT is closer to home but they may be losing long-time DC Bud Foster. BTW - my reason for optimism out of nowhere... Zach Smith was in-home with Sweat and his mother last night and left feeling like it was between OSU/VT. He knew that it was absolutely possible that they were just playing him/telling him what he wanted to hear but that's what he felt. Someone who covers OSU recruiting actually had his Sweat commitment article written last night because it seemed like a real possibility.

People thought Davis would get the same treatment as Green and have it suggested that he look elsewhere but now it looks like the staff actually wants to keep him. 5* DE Josh Sweat's announcement may be worth keeping an eye on tomorrow.
-
As expected, Tyler Green "decommitted." Same as Lonnie Johnson/Taivon Jacobs. Told to look elsewhere. They want to fit Juwuan Briscoe in.

The biggest thing with the uniforms and recruits... it keeps the school on a recruit's mind. Seen tons of recruits mentioning these new uniforms on Twitter since they were unveiled this morning. As others have said, no recruit is going to choose a school based on uniforms but maybe you keep a door cracked open for a recruit that would otherwise be shut because they keep seeing OSU or whoever with "fresh" uniforms and gear.

Bama fans on reddit seem pretty upset that Herman won over Kiffin. I enjoy mad. TCU fans upset about their guy I've never heard of not winning it as well. That's a double whammy of mad for them.
-
Apparently he was offered the SMU job in mid-November. Pretty surprised that Herman turned that down and Morris jumped on it so quickly.
-
Tom Herman won the Broyles award which goes to the nation's top assistant. I've expressed some displeasure with his performance in some games but he is the QB coach too and to be down to your 3rd guy and still do what they did on Saturday... well deserved.

Huh... most people I talk with regularly would be fine with our typical alternates now becoming the standard uniform. The only problem I have with the uniform itself is the reflective border for the numbers on the home jerseys is silver as is the number and I think the border should be white so the numbers don't just look like duct tape without light hitting it right. And the black numbers I guess are a tribute to the 1968 team... http://grfx.cstv.com/schools/osu/graphics/sports/m-footbl/125-all-time-1968.jpg

I've read some people being a little tired of these episode ending montages with the music they've been using but I think the main parts of the episodes have been amazing this season. What have you heard people being butthurt about? I don't want to post anything too spoilery for someone like Turbs who isn't caught up so I won't guess yet. Only thing I've been butthurt about all season with this show was when I found out it was only 6 episodes for the final season. Someone mentioned that it was a short season to me after the 2nd episode I think and I was like, well, season 1 was 10 (standard HBO), season 2 was 9 so what is this one? 9 again? Maybe 8? 6. It hurt deep.

People don't like those? They're awesome. They're not chrome. They're like a brushed metal finish. The red stripe is chromed. Stickers aren't optimal with OSU's biggest competition in the league being green right now but I'm fine with them.

Maybe a home night game next year. Early candidates... 10/10 vs. Maryland 10/17 vs. PSU 11/7 vs. Minnesota 11/21 vs. MSU And yes, seeing MSU as 11/21 is rough. That means if OSU plays in the B1G title game it would play MSU, @Michigan and then B1G title game in a span of 3 weeks.

Nothing really but the diamond swoosh. Then all the new stuff for the "base layer", gloves and cleats.

Nike doing special uniforms for all the playoff teams (haha at teams with Adidas/Under Armour - more evidence that Nike partnership is superior)... http://i.imgur.com/7ncc8Kf.png http://news.nike.com/news/nike-teams-celebrate-college-football-playoff-berth I can't speak for the other teams but for OSU they did an amazing job. Obviously OSU will be wearing an away version of those but the Woody tributes on the "base layer" and gloves are awesome.

Double post... we need to stop posting so much in these threads. :lolguy: This one seemed to last longer but I think it's time for a new one for bowl season...

Recruiting update... With 4* OH RB LJ Scott allowing his much less talented brother dictate his future, Scott is standing firm with MSU. So the predicted switch of former UM commit 4* MI RB Mike Weber and current OSU commit 3* MI DL Josh Alabi to MSU is not going to happen. Meyer and Coombs were in Detroit today to visit with both of them and Weber changed his official visit this weekend from ND to OSU. Draw your own conclusions from that... Also, as was rumored early on with regards to 4* TN OT Drew Richmond, there was no way he was getting through OSU's admissions. That's why he committed to Ole Miss but at his announcement said he'd always be a Buckeye at heart and that's why he ended up not visiting here for The Game and Mirko Jurkovic ended up getting a committable offer and taking it.

Guaranteed win for OSU? :gabe: Urban still undefeated as the underdog at OSU. And going back to a bowl game where Urban was a big underdog... I think some of us may remember it.
-
This is old but it's relevant now more than ever... Would love to see the guy do a slightly updated version (not much needs to be changed really - some clips of the current Bama and OSU teams as opposed to the ones from 2012 mostly) but I still can't watch that without cracking up.
