  1. Yeah, from what I've read everyone thinks he gets announced at Michigan by Tuesday or it's just not happening. Here's a big article with a bunch of pieces from a good Michigan insider where he puts a 99% number on it happening... http://mgoblog.com/content/searchbits-xxix-it-happening
  2. Looking more and more like Harbaugh to Michigan. Meyer vs. Harbaugh should be a lot more interesting than Meyer vs. Hoke.

    The Interview

So North Korea had 2 pretty massive internet outages over the past couple days. And now The Interview will be in limited release (around 300 theaters) and it was just made available on Youtube/Google Play/Xbox Video for $5.99. Nice. Will torrent it once it's on there. :gabe:
  4. Really good article on Cardale from SI... http://www.si.com/college-football/2014/12/22/cardale-jones-ohio-state-buckeyes
  5. Did jump'n'jive's wife make you post that? Jesus... her reach is unbelievable. :gabe:

  7. The fuck did TCU's coach say? I didn't pay attention because I was too busy licking up the tears of their fans. I know Briles was publicly upset with the Big 12 commissioner for naming "co-champions" and I agree with that but Patterson had no argument since his team shouldn't even have been given a "co-championship."
  8. So Texas made a big splash in recruiting today by picking up 5* LB Malik Jefferson. Most had him pegged to go to A&M. My A&M friend actually guaranteed me that he wasn't going to pick Texas, said it was A&M or UCLA. I checked Twitter and saw one post from a national recruiting guy who does a pretty good job with the bigger recruits and he said he felt Texas was getting good news this morning. I mention it to my A&M friend and he couldn't shut up about it all night. But a bigger reason this is a splash... 5* DT Daylon Mack, committed to A&M for over a year, is likely to flip to Texas because of this. This could be the start of a turnaround for the Longhorns. Strong had a lot of work to do this year cleaning things up (kicked several players off the team) and just doing his best to put up an OK product on the field but now that the trash is gone he can really focus on building the program back up.

    The Interview

Paramount has now banned those planned showings as well.
  11. There's a recording of it out there. 30 minutes of raw audio. My Nebraska friend and I were listening to it last night and he eventually couldn't take it anymore. Then he asked for my opinion on what we had listened to (about 5-10 minutes of it) and I thought Bo was actually pretty reasonable. He started off on fire (calling Eichhorst, their AD, a pussy and a cunt) but the rest of it showed that he really did care about the kids and it sounded like he was more worried about his staff's contracts being honored than his own. Gotta remember, this whole thing was supposed to be a private moment between he and a bunch of guys he recruited to play for him and that's no longer possible. Second time that he's been the victim of someone recording him without his knowledge at Nebraska so that kinda sucks too. I hope he does well working under Tressel in his hometown and maybe somewhere down the line OSU will need him as a DC or something.

    The Interview

Wasn't about the content of the film. It was about threats of violence in the hackers' message against any theater that does screen it. So theaters decided they'd rather be safe than sorry and started pulling it then when enough of the bigger chains had announced they wouldn't be screening it Sony pulled it entirely.
  13. It's really incredible how many gifts/breaks FSU and Winston keep receiving.
  14. Saban's actual salary is $6.5m/yr with $400k in bonuses he receives for simply completing each year then he can earn up to $700k more in bonuses for things like getting to the SEC title game, CFB playoff, etc. I really doubt the number being reported right now is what Michigan is offering. I believe before Urban was hired the rumors were that he was going to earn in the $6m/yr range and he doesn't even get $5m/yr. Adam Schefter (ESPN NFL guy for the most part but also a Michigan grad) was talking about it this morning and said it would be pretty crazy for a team like Michigan who wasn't even providing private planes for recruiting visits under Hoke and has one of the smallest support staffs in the country for football (and you wonder why they've fallen so far) to go and make an offer like this.
  15. Landers' film is impressive. He had a beastly game in the playoffs vs. St. Ed's that I was reading about on Twitter from Ohio HS reporter people was one of the best performances they'd seen from a HS DL in years... here's his highlights from that game... http://www.maxpreps.com/high-schools/wayne-warriors-%28huber-heights,oh%29/football/videos.htm?videoid=1f1f4e58-83fc-4fc7-8f9a-ae875bf168f3 He and Norwood out of GA have 2 of the most impressive tapes of all the 2015 class and they're both 3 star guys. When OSU snatched up Norwood people were worried SEC schools would come calling late and that's starting to happen so OSU just has to hope he appreciates them noticing him earlier.
  16. A lot of people think this is a "rental" for YSU but I could absolutely see him sticking around for a while. He didn't have HC experience before Nebraska and he still put up 9-10 wins a year. Now he can come home, relax a little, get some more experience then maybe take a shot at a big job again somewhere down the line. I have a friend in Fargo who is from Nebraska but went to NDSU so he grew to hate Pelini over the last several years because of the losses they'd have so he's pretty excited that NDSU and YSU are in the same conference. Herman to Houston was just made official within the last 10 minutes. Posted on their site with a little blurb from Urban wishing him the best. The Harbaugh to Michigan stuff is apparently coming from some behind the scenes contact between Harbaugh and an assistant with the Browns who played at Michigan? Talking about getting the band back together and trying to bring Michigan football back to prominence. Today is supposed to be a big day, again, behind the scenes in this potentially happening. Some Michigan fans are worried this is all just people trolling them but I guess we'll see.
  17. Michigan people starting to get more hope with regards to Jim Harbaugh. That would be about as close as they could get to hiring their own Urban.
  18. His wife has denied that their mind is made up with regards to coaching a potential national title game. I tend to believe he would stick around but it is actually difference of 11 days, not just 7. Will be interesting to watch Herman's career moving forward. He's clearly a smart guy (MENSA) and he had some games I was critical of as an OC but as others have mentioned, you cannot deny what he was able to do with regards to the QB's this year. Heisman candidate goes down? Fuck it, here's another one (which he personally had a huge hand in recruiting from Texas). That one goes down? Whatever... throw this guy who once said he ain't come to play school out there and I'll have him run my offense just as well in the conference championship game. No biggie. People weren't too excited when Urban pulled him out of Ames, Iowa to come to OSU and now he's off to do his own thing. He's got some Texas flavor obviously but he's an Ohio guy. Watched his Broyles Award speech and he talked about being born in Cincy and how coaching at OSU was something of a dream job. He's 39. Say Urban coaches another 8-10 years here... would be cool if Herman continued to climb the coaching ladder and eventually ended up back at OSU as head coach.
  19. Sounding like Herman is going to Houston. Will coach vs. Bama but would not coach in championship game.
  20. Yeah, I think I started typing up a post about that yesterday at work but ended up being interrupted by stupid work things and not posting it but ever since Alvarez "retired" it's seemed that the offense/program hasn't changed a bit. Bielema was from within so he was fine doing what Alvarez told him for a long time but decided to go off on his own at Arkansas eventually. Andersen had no Wisconsin ties whatsoever so I don't think he was very in to doing everything Alvarez asked. Chryst will come in and do exactly as Barry says and they will continue to compete for West division titles year in and year out but once Barry is gone (dead or actually retired) they could be in for quite a shock.
  21. And just like that it looks like Wisconsin is set to bring back a former assistant in Paul Chryst. Played QB at Wisconsin, from Madison, was the OC there under Alvarez for a year then Bielema for several. He'll do whatever Barry tells him which I think wasn't something Andersen was 100% in to.
  22. Baylor's OC reportedly taking Tulsa job so there's one school not to worry about. Probably just a half dozen others to worry about now...lol.
  23. The JT thing was covered a bit a couple pages back. Here's a school I might be worried about more with regards to Herman... Wisconsin.
