  1. Michigan will be wearing some pink this weekend for breast cancer awareness. For those not aware, Saturday is November 1st. Breast cancer awareness month is October. Keep up the good work, Michigan!
  2. That WVU-Pitt game was the worst officiated game I've ever watched. The Big East wanted so badly for WVU to be in the national title game and Pitt still overcame. THE WANNSTACHE!
  3. Everyone talks about A&M more because of Manziel and because they beat Bama their first year in the conference but Mizzou won their fucking division last season. That program hadn't been relevant since 2007 when they shit the bed in the Big 12 title game allowing OSU to swoop into the national title game. And Indiana beat them in Columbia this year. I think it's real simple and probably said it in here before... the SEC as a whole is down. Bama, Auburn, LSU, etc... all down. MSU and Ole Miss are up a bit. But instead of letting the rankings bring teams like Bama, Auburn and LSU down they've simply slotted MSU and Ole Miss up. Here's some food for thought... Both Mississippi schools went 3-5 in conference last season. Here are 2 teams from the B1G that had that same record or better last year... Minnesota (4-4) and Indiana (3-5). If either of those teams were still sitting with 1 loss they would barely be in the top 25. Minnesota was sitting with 1 loss up until this past weekend and they were barely ranked in one poll and unranked in the other. And their one loss was on the road against a top 10 team. Schools like Minnesota or Indiana have the kind of seasons that MSU or Ole Miss are enjoying right now and instantly everyone realizes that the conference is having a down year. Ole Miss and MSU do it... "WOW THOSE ARE SOME DOGGONE GOOD TEAMS RIGHT THERE I TELL YOU WHAT! PAWWWWWLLLLLLL!"
  4. Yeah, that was the article I mentioned on the last page. I probably should have linked it. Here's the Awful Announcing article I mentioned... http://awfulannouncing.com/2014/skepticism-healthy-espn.html That's where the facts Josh posted about ESPN/SEC's contract stuff came from. It's pretty hilarious reading SEC people attacking both articles claiming they're biased against the SEC. There is zero argument here. ESPN's desire to turn a profit dictates that they prop up the SEC and try to ensure that, long term, the SEC is the best conference. There is no argument to be made. Unfortunately the kind of education people down in SEC country get doesn't give them the ability to understand these things. "AIN'T NO BIAS. WE JUST DA BEST. PAAWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWL, TELL EM I'M RIGHT!"
  5. The anti-OSU sentiment is merely a result of the BTN. OSU is the B1G's biggest program so ESPN (I literally typed SEC instead of ESPN first then had to correct it...haha) attacks it. All of this stems from Delany creating the BTN. ESPN low balled him back in 2004 or so and he told them fuck you I'll just make my own network. They said go ahead, bitch. And he did. And it's been extremely profitable so ESPN started latching onto the SEC and eventually created an entire network for them. I doubt there's a ban on Gameday coming here. They haven't been here since 2010 but Columbus has still hosted Gameday more than any other city. And of course they had their all access thing when Urban first got here. They could be in East Lansing next weekend (other potential sites would be at the TCU-KSU game or Bama-LSU game). Next year they could come to Columbus for OSU-MSU.
  6. The P5 conference champs and 3 at-large spots. Done. On a side note, the SeCspn bias is starting to get a LOT of attention. Fowler coming out and defending it like he did last week has only legitimized the claims and forced other outlets to look into it more. I mean, it's not rocket surgery. ESPN literally owns the SEC Network. They have contracts (soon expiring) with the other conferences. It's just business. There's no argument. Awful Announcing did a little piece on the bias yesterday and Rolling Stone had an article come out today titled "The Worldwide Cheerleader." It's only going to keep picking up steam. The problem is that I don't see it getting fixed anytime soon. It's the very first year in this system. The BCS had lots of hate for nearly a decade before they did something about it.
  7. Plex is a bit of a mess on Fire TV. I bought a couple of the $99 Fire TV boxes to replace some WDTV's when they came out because, as you said, the specs really put every other little media box to shame. But since the box (and I assume this stick) are Android based they use the Android version of Plex which only supports 2 speakers (ie. headphones or 2 speakers on a tablet or phone). So if you're looking to enjoy DTS or DD5.1 from your "archived" Blurays (:dumb:) you simply won't be able to. On the boxes you can sideload XBMC though and get surround sound and I don't see why you wouldn't be able to on the sticks but it's still not ideal. With the way the Fire TV was initially advertised right on Plex's website I figured everything would have been developed cooperatively but here I am 6-7 months later with my Fire TV that still only gives me stereo sound through Plex.
  8. Should be able to get enough on the ground from Zeke, Samuel, etc. to not have to run Barrett like they had to against PSU. PSU's rush defense was #1 going into that game (#3 now) so Barrett had to take what he could get. Illinois features the 123rd ranked rush defense in the country. They allowed Nebraska and Wisconsin to rush for over 400 each and Purdue over 350. I wouldn't be surprised if we saw some of the Cardale bulldozer offense early in the game like we see late in blowouts.
  9. I hadn't seen academics as the reason. The "official" statement for Smith at least was "violation of team rules" which usually means failed drug test which is what I've read. I wonder if they knew about this before the PSU game. I thought it was odd that Rod didn't get any carries. They were throwing everyone they could out there to carry the ball at one point because of JT's injury (including Dontre so I'm not buying him being a part of this) but never Rod. Jones and Smith make sense. Smith was just starting to come on but he too was strangely absent from the PSU game.
  10. Also it was Urban's call. The 3rd down call where they split Hyde out wide (which they didn't do at all during the regular season, tried at the beginning of the game vs. MSU where is was also extremely ineffective) has always been my issue.

    Walking Dead

Turning and dying aren't the same thing. Andrea's sister died fairly quickly after she was bit (bit on neck I believe and bled out fast) but didn't reanimate until the next morning with Andrea still holding her and Andrea just calmly shot her in the head. We never even saw Jim die. They left him on the side of the road to die from the infection then eventually turn. Bob died from the infection but they didn't even give him a chance to turn by putting the knife into his head. I think Jenner at the CDC in season 1 said they had seen people reanimate within minutes and others take days.
  12. Clean too. I want to see Reeves' hit again. That game is a chore to go through on my DVR because it's 4 1/2 hours long.
  13. It's a night game in East Lansing. Last night PSU kinda went VT on OSU and confused the fuck out of the blockers and Barrett. Combined with the difficulty to hear and a really conservative game plan, it allowed PSU to just hang around until JT made a mistake. East Lansing isn't nearly as loud as Happy Valley. But their defense is probably slightly better than PSU's and their offense is A LOT better. Lots of work to do in 2 weeks but it's always nice to have a lot of motivation and lessons to be learned from tape when you still got out with a W.
  14. Bosa after the game with JT... Key quotes... Bosa - "You're welcome, bitch." JT - Either "I'm so glad you're on my fuckin' team" or "I'm so glad you're my fuckin' teammate."
  15. Yeah, they said his knee was bothering him and it showed. He ran 13-14 times in the first half and only 1-2 times in the 2nd then ran several times in OT for the win. Obviously didn't have the numbers we'd become accustomed too tonight but still pulled out a tough one on the road against, statistically, the best defense in the conference. And I called the Ole Miss game too! I guaranteed my A&M friend as a form of comfort that they would lose one of their next two games after beating A&M. That game probably should have gone to OT though. They fucked up royally by not sending the FG unit out until there was 15 seconds left on the play clock resulting in a delay of game then the decision to go for the win instead of a 47 yard FG.
  16. OSU wearing the all white uniforms they wore vs. Michigan last year. Good god those are sexy. They'll fit right in with PSU's white out. And as for what I said a couple posts back, it's actually more likely that MSU ends up with Weber and OSU ends up with LJ Scott with Harris trending towards Kentucky. Current OSU commit Josh Alabi will probably also end up at MSU. Looks like Urban just doesn't like people named Josh. :gabe:
  17. I really think Moore's commitment took the staff by surprise. I don't think any of us had really even heard of him before he showed up to camp and committed. He committed in July. Written offers don't go out until September. I actually wonder if he even received a written offer. I don't think it's out of the realm of possibility that Moore showed up, had misunderstood something a position coach may have said to him, thought he had an offer, committed and it was in such a public setting that the staff didn't want to embarrass him right then and there. Over time it's communicated to him that he may want to explore other options and here we are today. The Taivon Jacobs and Lonnie Johnson situations were a little more obvious to everyone but I think Moore's situation may be similar. Haven't read anything solid on that anywhere, just my gut feeling. I agree on Ball. He seems like the kind of kid who will stick it out, get his degree and maybe even be done with football after his 4th year instead of using up a scholarship for a 5th. And Dunn is buried because he just isn't as good as Zeke, Samuel or Smith. Add his 5-6 fumbles in <30 carries in his career and that's just not going to scream "I DESERVE MORE CARRIES."
  18. I think it may have been suggested to Moore to look elsewhere similar to Taivon Jacobs who ended up staying home at Maryland or the kid from Indiana last year who ended up at one of the directional Michigan schools. Either way I wish him the best. Kid's been through a lot (cancer) already in his life. As for Harris it definitely looks to be trending in Kentucky's favor. They're having a decent season, he's at basically every one of their home games, etc., etc. OSU could poach Mike Weber from Michigan. LJ Scott went to MSU partially because everyone was telling him OSU was getting Harris then Weber went to Michigan because Scott took his spot at MSU so if Harris goes to UK then OSU can pull Weber (who was supposedly going to commit to OSU back in January or so but his parents insisted he keep looking). Or they could end up with that kid they recently offered from I think Tennessee. Either way they definitely still need a RB. Rod Smith is a senior and at least one of Ball and Dunn are going to be transferring.
  19. It's crazy that in the early part of last year Mullen was on a slightly warm seat at MSU and I was hoping for a complete collapse resulting in his firing and reunion with Urban as his OC here. Now he's one of the top candidates for jobs like Michigan and Florida.
  20. They're actually already over going strictly on the numbers I believe. Urban gonna be "processing" some kids after this year. I know he's been pretty upset with some of the guys further down the depth chart on the DL. Also, from an ESPN thingy "Inside the office of Urban Meyer"... http://i.imgur.com/hV4Z2eV.jpg Notice the uniform mockups on his desk...
  21. Another commit this morning. 3* DE/ATH Rashod Berry. He's listed at 6'5", 230 but recent reports have him up to 6'6" and 240 and some saying he's been running 4.4 40's. He had serious grade issues over the last couple years in HS but has turned it around this year hence offers over the past couple days from both Ohio State and Michigan State.
  22. You guys think you'll get Mullen next year? There's a lot of talent on the defensive side of your staff (Muschamp included) to be spread around the football world if Mullen comes in and brings his own guys from MSU.
  23. Finebaum is with ESPN/SEC Network now I think. PAAWWWWWWWWWWWWL!!!!!!! I think the story on him is that he's a massive Bama homer? Or at least he's really big on both of the Alabama schools, always breaking their stories and focusing almost exclusively on them. The "PAAAWWWWWWWWL" thing is a joke from all the insane Bama rednecks who regularly call into his show. The 2 SEC commits I mentioned a while back have now flipped to OSU. Alex Stump (4* WR formerly committed to Kentucky) was last weekend and Jerome Baker (4* ATH/LB formerly committed to Florida) was supposed to be around this time last week but he just made the announcement on Twitter tonight.
  24. Holy shit... you're not wrong. Ranking for passing YPG Indiana 113th Wisconsin 121st Minnesota 124th Nebraska is fine at 71st considering their run game. More similar to OSU with Braxton/Hyde with their Armstrong/Abdullah combo. Ohio State was 90th in passing YPG last year, 5th in rushing.
  25. Was all over Twitter/reddit yesterday. The typical response... "looks like rush defense in the B1G is garbage!" To which the fact that there are 7 B1G rush defenses in the top 50 and 3 in the top 10 had to be pointed out.
